Comish
It's an annual conundrum. Do you reward the Seniors by giving them an honorary "Start" tomorrow vs. Maryland? Most years it's even harder to decide because unless you want to waste a timeout, they might play up to 4 minutes until the first media timeout. IF your team is actually playing for seeding or bubbles or anything except playing out the string, coaches must decide if the symbolism is worth it. What if the start of play puts you down a number of points until you get your actual starters in the game? This year would seem to be a no-brainer. With virtually nothing on the line (except to end an embarrassing losing streak), it would seem that Miles can honor them without impacting the season too much. (Might even see some interesting contributions). Agree or not? 1 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
I don't know if it'll be more than two: Rivers and probably Smith. Abraham only being here one year doesn't hold quite the sway though it's possible. And I doubt he'll sit Petteway, Shields or a PG to do three. There will be several whistles before the first media timeout so they'd probably only have to play a minute or two. Quote Link to comment
Comish
Yeah, I guess I was looking at it a bit differently........ I assumed (always dangerous, I know) that Smith, Rivers and Abraham would start. I was wondering about Kurkowski and Menke.....?........a one guard offense......yikes! Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Yeah, I wasn't sure if you were including them or not. It would be cool but I doubt it. Quote Link to comment
Huskball
Miles said last year that he doesn't worry about getting the seniors in or starting them. If it happens, it happens. Mike Peltz didn't play in the game last year even when though he could have gotten in with a few seconds left and we were up by more than two possessions. Quote Link to comment
