It must not have counted as a year on his clock. But, he played 4 years from 2012-2015, unless they granted him another year of eligibility because he played so little for NU in 2015. Don't you only get a medical redshirt if you have already used your redshirt? I guess he could claim he was "injured" in 15 to try to get another year? The medical redshirt is often used if a guy plays 1 or 2 games, gets injured and requests to not have those games count as "burning" a redshirt. I am not sure how he is able to claim another redshirt season since then, but he must have been able to. Quote Link to comment
