I don't know about "venom" but it was a rather pointed and honest article about the current situation in Afghanistan and the mostly failed policies of the last 8+ years and the half-assed execution of our wars.

 

Level it and end it or get the hell out. Putting our soldiers lives and our tax money on auto drip isn't getting us anywhere.

Yeah, what I meant was that it was very outspoken and angry. I thought it was really well-written. We started something in 2001 (fifteen years ago, by the way) that has resulted in endless war and a real quagmire.

 

But at least they hit us and we hit back, right?

In a college course I had we had a guest speaker who served in Afghanistan. He was there around 2003 or so I believe, regardless when they would of to remote small villages people thought they were the Russians.
