BigRedfxtoy
Is the Diver outside the van? Has called for backup and is on guard watching the van? If so the rest has been layed out. Prisoner killed guard, didn't have the time to kill the other. The other guard called for backup and exited the van and is waiting for the backup to arive. Quote Link to comment

husker rob
if the guard was handcuffed to the prisoner from the beginning of the trip, to prevent an escape, then who was driving the van in the first place? did the driver park on the side of the road to take a leak or crap exiting the vehicle with the keys to the door and the cuffs. while he/she was relieving him/her self the prisoner killed the guard that was handcuffed to him thinking that the guard had the keys and he would be able to get free, and he is now angry and frustrated because he now realizes that the other guard had the keys. Silent Commit
Prisoner and guard handcuffed and travelling via vehicle to a correctional facility in the desert. Guard was driving. Prisoner attempted to take control of the wheel which ultimately caused the Guard to crash the vehicle in a deserted area. Before dying and before the Prisoner came-to, the Guard swallowed the key. In the hot desert sun, the Prisoner had no choice but to drag the body of the guard to the back of van where it was cool in comparision to the outdoors - and await for help. Quote Link to comment

Silent Commit
I'm afraid that if this riddle is left unanswered, the universe would be drastically altered and life, as we know it, will not exist in this or any dimension. Quote Link to comment

slacker
WE HAVE A WINNER! CONGRATULATIONS Silent Commit! Two men are in the back of a van which is parked on a country road. Both men are in uniform. One is dead. the other is angry and frustrated. What happened? The angry man was a convicted prisoner. He was being transported in the van and was handcuffed to a prison officer. When a suitable opportunity arose, the prisoner had produced a gun and demanded that the officer released him. The officer had put the key to the handcuffs in his mouth before struggling with the prisoner. The gun went off killing the officer but not before he had swallowed the key.The prisoner was therefore handcuffed to the body of the man he had just killed. Quote Link to comment
