Concrete-Filled Soccer Ball Prank Injures World Cup Fans

At least two people in Berlin were injured when they kicked concrete-filled soccer balls chained to lamp posts as part of a prank apparently targeting World Cup fans.

German police said at least six soccer balls filled with concrete were placed on streets near signs spray painted in pink that read, "Can U Kick It?"

The victims were injured when they tried to kick the soccer balls.

Police said they arrested two unidentified men, ages 26 and 29, in connection with the incident.

Authorities said they believe the men apparently set up a workshop to produce the offending balls. Officers found three new concrete-filled balls, spray cans and chains.

The suspects were being questioned by investigators and could face charges of bodily harm.

Soccer fans from around the world have traveled to the city for the World Cup tournament, which ends July 9 in Berlin's Olympic Stadium when France plays Italy. :clap
