  1. Correct, try to get conference crown and push for conference tournament. They have played above predictions, but finish it with some form of title….make a regional and stick around as long as possible
  2. You may be right, but I was hearing yesterday that they would not bring Sears back on only 4 days rest. MM would have less rest. I guess it depends on how deep they go vs MSU
  3. Just for fun, looking ahead to the Big 10 tournament. Who starts game 1? Obviously, this is just a fun conversation… Game 1 is huge. Can’t be Sears or MM if they throw Thursday and Friday. Do you see how Thursday and Friday go, and if we are locked into a position, do you save Brockett….. Clark has been very solid the past 3 weeks, or did Christo do enough in his 4 innings to earn anyone’s trust?
  4. Really good series win! It was the best series starting pitching for the Huskers all season. All 3 starters held a very good Hoosier team at bay. Sears, Mac, and Brockett were more than dominant!!! Bullpen was lights out all weekend, with 1 exception on Friday, or we would have swept them
  5. Back to back fantastic starts from the Huskers starting pitchers! Sears and Mason Mac were nails!! Both guys give up a solo shot to start game, then shut down the Hoosiers! Clark was brilliant out of the pen tonight and deserves a ton of credit! Offense is still an issue. One disastrous inning Friday, other than that, it has been 2 pretty good games by both teams. Let’s grab the series today!!
  6. Absolutely! I said gut check as a barometer for keeping the season in tact. I remember comments about how bad our pitching was going to be…. Heck, some questioned Sears getting nod in opener, and he will be pitcher of the year in the Big 10, and if he finishes ( too bad we didn’t hold on for a win last night), strong… with his low era and whip under.80 ( which is unheard of) he will get consideration for NPOY…. MM has been just fine and Worthley also. I would guess most are surprised at our success with pitching rather than shocked when it is bad
  7. So, Sears was fantastic. Bounce back after Minnesota. Gives up solo shot to start game, then goes next 21 outs without an earned run for a more than quality start. Offense can’t capitalize on runners all game and then we do, only to watch the pen surrender a run in the 8th and 7 in the 9th to follow up horrific 9th vs SDSU. Beyond gut check time
  8. Absolutely mismanaged pitching. So frustrated with our pitching approach on midweek. Apparently a no hit bid is what it takes to see more than 1.2 innings. Clark deserves to keep throwing in this game. What a crap job by coaching staff
  9. Obviously deserved! Congratulations
  10. We go scoreless in top of 1…. Sears gets 2 quick outs, then a weak single, followed by an error, then base hit gives the Gophers a 1-0 lead on an unearned run. Sears then gets big K to end inning with 2 runners in scoring position
  11. Wow! Congratulations Brockett!! Take a bow young man!!!
  12. I know I am a football coach, not baseball , but ahead 8-0, I would stay in wind up, not stretch
  13. Keep dealing Brockett. Amazing outing!!
