  1. That is the story basically, grabbed a woman violently, and destroyed her camera lens, during a fight about the Super Bowl. Also appears to have manned up, admitted his guilt, accepts his punishment, and is trying to make an effort to better himself because of it. The more I read about him the more I think he is deserving of a second chance and I think Bo is the perfect coach to keep him in line.We have never had a coach who had a camera incident nor a player who had a fan incident...no...wait. Get that crap outta here. Neither were legal issues, and both happened with people being in places they shouldn't be. The fan who got punched was illegally trespassing on the field, and Carl grabbed the camera not the person. Besides it's not even relevant to the discussion. I am actually in support of the transfer. My point was to show that we have had some small blemishes by past players/coaches and Stringfellow may not be as bad a guy as he is being portrayed as. That is up to Bo and Co. to make the call. Sorry took that the wrong way, but yea I agree it's a relatively small thing, and he seems willing to do the time for the crime he has admitted to. I guess I probably could see myself in his shoes and doing something similar in my younger years.
  2. Yep I am starting to wonder if we are his top choice, or he is waiting for another school to decide what they want to do with him. There really is too much we don't know regarding interest by both parties to even really speculate.
  3. Seriously? Wow. Because a fan was on the field he's fair game for the opposing team in your eyes? Yep actually it's no different than a streaker or someone at a baseball game who runs on the field. Your not supposed to be on there, and you accept the risk of getting your a$$ kicked if you do.
  4. Given the crime, and how it has been handled so far I am fine with him transferring where ever he wants, in fact I think he shouldn't have a restriction against PAC 10 schools. If the crimes were different, and how he handled himself afterword different, I wouldn't be so quick to give him a second chance.

  7. So back on topic, it sounds like higher ups are also hesitant to allow him on campus, maybe that is all that's keeping him from announcing his intent to come to UNL.
  8. I just wonder if we get to a point where we have too many transfer players with merky pasts. I think we should give players a second chance, and keep them on a short leash, but is there a limit to how many guys we want like that on a team. You want crystal footballs or not? I wouldn't sell my soul for one, nor do I think Nebraska should either.
  9. Yea the use of the term "levels" doesnt really make sense. It makes it seem like Andrew Luck is a better QB than Eric Crouch by 2 levels, or better than Vince Young who was pretty incredible when they tailored the system to his strengths, which is exactly what Texas AM did with Johnny "douchebag" Football.
  10. From a purely athletic stand point, I think we should be pushing hard for it, plus he comes from a high school that has been very good to us, and seems to like coming to NU, which bodes well for us getting him
  11. I think as of right now he falls into the 1st category, but I think he can become either a System QB or a Transecendent talent. Obviously he was green last year, maybe didnt quite take the job seriously enough with Tmart in front of him. But I think he has 3 options, fit the mold of the offense, Become elite, or fail to live up to what we expect of a QB. I doubt he fails, and I personally see his progess being a little inbetween the second and 4th category. As to previous QBs I disagree about Crouch I think he was an obvious 4, did things almost never seen before or since. Just an insane athlete. Same goes for Tommy Frazier. Some 2s are Zac Lee, Joe Ganz, and maybe Scott Frost (maybe a 3 guy).

  13. I havent seen a thread about this, but if there is please do what is necessary. Anyways, the WR from Washington is Demore'ea Stringfellow, and former top 10 WR recruit is looking to possibly transfer to the Huskers. He is currently suspended from the Huskies after being charged with assualting 2 seahwaks fans in the aftermath of the Superbowl. He played in all but one game last year and accumulated pretty impressive stats for a freshman. I like to give second chances, and i think he would be a tremendous addition to the team, but man we have a lotta baggage lately with Bando, ASmith, and if we get/take Stringfellow in. Heres a link from an article about it. http://huskercorner.com/2014/05/15/nebraska-football-rumors-washington-wr-transferring-lincoln/
  14. I think a 2 to 4 game suspension is ligitamite option, although less or even a no game suspension wouldnt bother me. Someone screws up, pay for it in the legal system, and make sure they dont do it again. First time offense and no history of other issues, i am fine with whatever Bo feels is appropriate.
  15. This post is totally unnecessary. Some people actually like to hope for the best and believe that until all facts are out there we should withhold judgment. Also no one is excusing the actions if they do indeed turn out to be true. If he is found guilty by the legal system, then he needs to be held accountable for it, but rushing to judgement is a bit premature. After all it's not your job to job people, and really you should learn to be a little more respectful to people who supposedly you are supposedly a fan of the same team with.
  16. Alcholo sales or not their is always an idiot or two. I don't have a problem with it either way, as people will drink at the game one way or another. But the whole dry campus idea I think is stupid and leads to more drunk driving then it helps.
  17. Totally possible, just cleaning up an eyesore around campus. Actually I did that in college, and right after I got it all fixed up, the guy who "owned" it came and asked for it back. I was like it sat here for a year and you didn't even ride the damn thing.
  18. I see it as a real opportunity for the president to show his military might with little repercussions, I mean come on a rescue mission of a bunch of girls about to be sold into slavery and the USA is the helper of the world and not some big mean country pushing other countries around. The only downside is if the Op goes all black hawk down.
  19. Normally I would be the wait and see type but this seems pretty clear cut. Like Knap said, not much can explain this one away. The problem is there is a possibility that he is innocent, or the charges make it sound much worse than it is. For all we know he had his bike stolen, and realized that the row of bikes contained his and others that belong to teammates that also had theirs stolen. Went out got a bolt cutter and took them back. Regardless of the circumstances anyone who is charged with a crime, is innocent until proven guilty. I find it strange we are so quick to pass judgement on a kid without knowing any real facts.
  20. I think an argument could be made for a team of small fast players like Crouch, because they would have speed all over the place. But I would hate to see them try to take on a team of Suhs or Carrikers. But Crouch could lay a hit down on some smaller type players outside of 260 lb and up players.
  21. I hate most of the crazy helmet schemes, but I like this one the best. The Maryland flag is so different, and the flowing flag is a pretty cool idea. http://helmetgame.com/maryland-pride-2-0-helmet-up-for-auction/
  22. I always like to wait before making any assumptions about the quilt of anyone that is only been charged with a crime. Until he is convicted he is innocent, and we should allow the legal process to continue. We have seen plenty of mistakes that have cost people their careers, such as duke lacrosse rape scandal. I am all for suspending him from the team for the time being, but anything more is an over reaction and is silly considering we know almost nothing about what really happened.
  23. Contractual agreements amongst various teams, make it hard to require one brand or specific football, so instead they make certain requirements that each ball must be within, such as length witch, material used, and probably logos/writing on the ball.
  24. If this man is truly a racist as he is allegedly is, the. The NBA has every right to remove his right to ownership of a franchise of an NBA team. That's how franchises work, but I hope everyone realizes that the NBA really only cares about money not racism, because there are plenty of people associated with the NBA who make public statements that are just as racist as what this guy is. The NBA only acted because the media frenzy was too much to gloss over like they did every other time he has been accused of being a bigot.
  25. Have you actually had a composite ball in your hands lately? This rifle ball isn't your old genuine leather pigskin, it's not slick out of the box, it's made to be tacky, easy to grip, and suitable for all weather conditions. Not to mention your choice of words in your posts is borderline offensive to people who think maybe the type of ball creates some issues for players. The whole point of this board is to debate ideas without throwing personal jabs at other members who may disagree with you. I have learned this in the past and maybe you should as well.
