  1. There is no way Austin returns next season. If ever there was a time where Frost wanted to do a complete overhaul to his offensive scheme, this would be the offseason to do it.
  2. I guess the next BIG announcment that we will all be waiting on from Trev Alberts is: What are his future plans for Memorial Stadium's stadium capacity & along with other stadium changes?
  3. Brian Christopherson with some good points about today's news. Now that the decision has been made to keep Frost, next year has to hit big for this Cornhusker program.
  4. Well hopefully this could offer some clarification from today's news.
  5. Besides making assistant coaching changes I think the other thing that Frost will have to improve on that hasn't been discussed much is his in-game mangement decisions.
  6. I was the same as you. Heck after the Perdue game I wrote on this board that I thought it was over for this staff. But I can get behind this decision by Trev. I really want Frost to succeed here. He now needs to make the necessary coaching changes and take a good look in the offseason at overhauling his offensive scheme.
  7. Yep. There was NO WAY they were going to pay the $20 million to buyout Frost's contract along with all of his assistants. I think that would have been close to over $25-million. I think Trev made not only the correct decision for the football team, but a savy business decision for the university.
  8. I agree with you. I wrote that poorly. I will edit that.
  9. Now that it's official the next steps after the Iowa game has concluded is to make the necessary changes in assistant coaches. Assistant Coaches - KEEP or REPLACE? Greg Austin - Offensive Line Coach - REPLACE Sean Beckton - TE's Coach - KEEP Ryan Held - RB's Coach - REPLACE Matt Lubick - Offensive Coordinator & WR's - Up in the air??? Mario Verduzco - QB's Coach - ELIMINATE QB Coach position & REPLACE with proven Special Teams Coach. ***All defensive coaches along with Zach Duvall our Strength & Conditionion Coach should return. Offensive Scheme Changes Find a consistent Power Running Scheme. Incorporate under-center sets in a portion of the offense. Overhaul the entire offensive scheme to be built around the offensive line & running backs and NOT built solely around the QB position.
  10. This is why if the administration is keeping Frost next year, you do so with the stipulation that the defensive staff stays, but the offensive staff must be changed along with an offensive scheme change. The offensive scheme at the very least needs to be adjusted to be built around the offensive line and running game, and not be completely based around the QB.
  11. I do think Frost has to win at least one of these last two games in order to have a chance of Trev keeping him. If he goes 3-9 I do think Trev has to fire him, and just take the hit with all that buyout money.
  12. Absolutely. This is why I think Trev gives Frost one more year to make big changes on the offensive side of the ball.
  13. The only thing that might give Frost an extra year is that massive buyout. And remember, if we decide to move on from Frost the universtiy is not just paying Frost's $20 million buyout, but also the buyouts of all his assistants.
  14. If Trev keeps Frost how willing do you think Frost really will be in changing his scheme? I honestly think he (Frost) is too stubborn to make the right changes.
  15. I agree. If Trev can't get a proven successful head coach that he wants then we keep Frost for 1 more year. Entire defensive staff stays. Offensive staff is shown the door except for maybe our TE's coach. Offensive scheme needs a complete overhaul.
  16. Well.... Trev Alberts has a lot to decide in the next few weeks. Keep Frost - but he has to make coaching & scheme changes. OR Clean House. What should Nebraska do?
