  1. What year were both of those? I see some empty seats, leading me to wonder even more about the so-called sellout streak. /s
  2. Wasn't Osborne a "dag gum it" type? He didn't swear, but he did yell at times. I have proof of it on a VHS from a show called A day in the life of a husker...or something like that. In the video TO is going ballistic in practice and yelling at Buckhalter. Sure, it wasn't Bo fury, but it would surprise most on here who only see TO as being stoic 100% of the time. I also remember seeing occasional 'yelling' from TO. His yelling, though, would rank about as high as a stern talking-to in anyone else's mind. I remember so many players saying TO didn't ever NEED to yell. If he ever said the word 'Dadgummit!" the entire locker room would fall very, very silent. I also remember a player--might have been Ahman Green-- saying he had only heard TO utter 'Dadgummit' on two occasions, which resulted in dead silence as well. The man commanded huge respect, no doubt.
  3. Imani is a BEAST OF A MAN, imho, who was misused from the start, in Bo's schemes. It seemed like every damn time he came in all the other team had to do was gang up on Imani and know they would stop the play. Talk about telegraphing your plans . . . I understand Ameer was a dynamic runner as well, and one that had to be used often, but Imani should have seen more time. Hopefully that will occur now under Riley and with Ameer headed for the NFL. I see Imani in the mold of a Mike Alstott, a powerful runner that can tear people apart in his wake. But if he were on the field more, the other team wouldn't expect to target him every time they saw his face. That's what limited him, I think. And he had some great runs in spite of this, many times coming within a hair of a legendary run. I hope we see him better utilized, and I think we will. Looking forward to it.
  4. They (whoever 'they' are) say money cannot keep you warm. I guess Bo proves that's true. However, I KNOW I would be very warm, fat and happy with the amount of money he is scheduled to receive from NU. That alone would make me grateful enough to be gracious about the whole affair. When exiting like this, with that amount of money, Bo could not have made it more clear that it was well past time for him to be replaced.
  5. Wow, you're still here? I would have thought the remains of your corpse would be warm ashes by now, cooling at the stake some people probably wanted to tie you to.
  6. Osborne teams were remarkable for one thing, in my opinion. ALMOST ALWAYS playing to the utmost of their ability. It was what Tom demanded. That is why so many great teams emerged where they might not have otherwise. That is what I wish to see. During Bo's time we have had incredible talent that, for various reasons, just didn't (or wasn't able to) play to their potential. Reading through player statements from Tom's era, a constant theme struck me: We'd be down 3 to Oklahoma or some highly ranked team with 4 minutes to go and Coach would be cool as ice, smooth and confident. But other times we'd be up 60-21 over Kansas or someone and Tom would be upset at a missed block, or Charlie would be screaming about someone out of formation, just getting in their faces. Above is a paraphrase, but the attention to detail is what I hope for. Knowing that our players will play the best game they can, every single week. And if they lose, the deep understanding that they were simply beat by a better team, NOT by the mistakes they made or poor play in general. If we can attain that, I think the big games will fall into place naturally.
  7. This may have been posted, but I wasn't sure. The writer suggests Riley may be just what we need on a variety of fronts. Given the MUCH greater resources at NU, Riley might be the perfect choice. Time will tell, and I sure hope so. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/bigten/2014/12/04/nebraska-mike-riley-coach-oregon-state-analysis/19908547/ "Maybe the clear-eyed fans no longer expect the national title dynasty of the mid-1990s, but they expect a national title contender a little more often than every now and then. Instead, Nebraska has been scrabbling with the Iowas and Minnesotas of the world, and getting blown out every time it plays Wisconsin."
  8. In Sean We Trust! I trust that SE got us what he thinks is the best man for the job. At first I was a bit flummoxed, as were many. I am still undecided regarding where I think this ends up in terms of W/L records and so on. He's OUR coach now, and I will support the man and cross my fingers that this turns out well. And where ARE all the people that claimed ANYONE was better than Bo, that ANYONE AT ALL could win 9 games with our talent and schedule? Suddenly they seem to have reconsidered that stance, at least some of them. I believe Riley will work out just fine. Will his 'fine' be good enough? I have no idea, but I hope so.
  9. Also, remember that NO ONE on this site has any power or idea what might happen. No use warning Huskerboard away with your attempted financial intimidation. We are not involved, just bystanders like you. I doubt Nebraska is interested in a bidding war, probably not even interested in your coach, but Bret may have a brilliant agent who just spun this 'story' into a gargantuan raise for him and his client.
  10. About that letter . . . Yeah. Looks legit. Glad you were able to find it before jimtressel.com disappeared under the weight of anxious Nebraska fans and their computers.
  11. Calling BS on this. We all know Australia is a make believe place.
  12. The US military has been perfecting actual invisibility cloaks for a while. Nebraska has been involved in some secret research in the past. Can't be coincidence. Tressel arrived cloaked in one of these contraptions. I just know it!!
  13. so now the AD is flying in jets that don't file flight plans? I think the point was that we don't have any clue what airport might be used if it is a NeJet or other plane. They could just as easily fly to Des Moines and then board another plane, or fly to multiple cities before hitting a destination.
  14. That's NOT Bell's actual FB page. It's a fan site or tribute page to his big hit against Wiscy. This is is actual page, so the 'info' above came from someone who probably knows less than even we do. The real KB page (last changed January 2013): https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kenny-Bell/213951328673923
  15. Clicking to the right of the 'Tressel basketball pic' leads to diagrams of implements for suicide and murder. Someone is too close to the edge. Also, that looks like Warren Buffet to me.
  16. If we get Tressel, I may move back to Nebraska (from Florida) and open up a shop across the stadium that specializes in sweater vests and can customize in minutes on game days for before, during, and after games. Seriously, that would be neat. Lines out the door of people waiting to get the day's new victory stitched on their sexy vest? Somehow, I think it could work.
  17. They are living on campus at YSU. I suppose a plane to Columbus could be a meeting with legal at OSU. If we are actually trying for Tressel. I would love that, but remain dubious. http://www.vindy.com/news/2014/jul/02/ysus-first-couple-opens-historic-campus-home/
  18. Jim Tressel and his wife sold their Upper Arlington, Columbus house earlier this year. It was their primary residence. Not sure if they are currently renting or bought another house or where either might be. http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2012/01/31/tressel-sells-upper-arlington-home.html Edit. Derp. Don't university president's usually live in the President's House on campus? Or am I out of date in thinking so these days?
  19. And people are now getting so angry they even LOG OFF! Unreal. And watch yer' language people.
  20. Agreed, it is early, but some folks are anxious enough to be conversing with a sock. It can feel much longer when waiting for news. Really, it's been such a short time it's easy to lose track. Glad they got to meet in any case.
  21. http://m.ketv.com/news/bo-pelinis-final-meeting-with-players/30030596 Is this the cause of delay in an announcement? If so I agree with waiting. You?
  22. I agree, he would be worth a shot. I have some large misgivings, already stated by myself and others, but we may not get another shot at him. If he goes to another legacy school and proves to be a winner, we could be outta luck. I will say, though, I hope we NEVER have the mindset of wanting a 'Nebraska Man' at the helm merely because of this type of history. Look at Colorado and their coach Embry or whatever his name was. Former player. No coaching experience AT ALL in that case, but his history with Colorado (and their stingy budget) trumped everything. Let's not make the same mistake as the Buffs and as Michigan appears to be dealing with.
  23. I dunno. When you look at a full length shot of Mrs. Harbaugh . . . She looks a little chubby to my eye.
  24. Great news! What time is the announcement?
  25. I am NOT saying Belichick. There. I said it. Or DID I????
