  1. Glad you enjoyed the ol' "scrap of paper" reference.....................
  2. Don't know why Doc wouldn't WANT him back. When healthy, he has some skills. What I'm hearing now is that he is so far out of shape (because he basically can't run), that they are doing a carrot/stick thing by holding open the POSSIBILITY of playing this year so he doesn't balloon back up to 360.
  3. http://www.latimes.c...0,3158409.story RP got it right.....??? Wow. I could see RP as Treasury Secretary or in some role on domestic fiscal policy, BUT as COMMANDER IN CHIEF.........?? Clueless...................... When attacking a candidate for being "clueless," it is best to include the reason(s) for your opinion to avoid looking like an imbecile. I'll preempt your response by assuming that you are critical of Dr. Paul's foreign policy of peace as it applies to the so-called War on Terror. There is no denying the fact that the continued presence of U.S. troops in the Muslim world is breeding anti-American sentiments that appeal to radical extremists. Dr. Paul is the only presidential candidate on the ballot (save the Libertarian nominee) who understands that a reduced American footprint around the globe will not only save American lives and billions of dollars, but is the only true path to long lasting peace and prosperity for the United States. The great thing about a discussion board is that we are free to disagree. I'd love for you to be right on this............but for every idealistic scenario that dreams the rest of the world wants peace as badly as we might, reality tends to interject............. In a nuclear world, we cannot afford a 21st century Neville Chamberlain. Nice imbecile reference by the way. Always good to start a dialogue by inflaming the discussion. It usually indicates a lack of coherent reasoning.
  4. Could be...............or it could be that JP is going to get it and the replacement for him is currently with another team....................too many scenarios...........just going to have to wait on Bo's timetable..............
  5. I didn't say he should be POTUS. I said he got it right in this/these videos. Keep your eye on the ball. It was a debate among participants who want to be POTUS. You praised him for "getting it right". That suggests you favor his responses winning the debate, where the eventual prize is POTUS. I'm fine with my eyes. It's your occluded vision that needs correcting............I suggest Schlictimeyer and Schlictimeyer............... "Strike against Iran: An example of where RP gets it right." His intent seems pretty clear to me. You are stretching it pretty thin on this one Comish. Hey, just trying to help an old nemesis find a local ophthalmologist..............

    Kickers!

This. Nebraska has only had a couple of bumps in the road when it came to kickers the last two decades. The one that sticks with me is Byron Bennett kicking it out of bounds late in the Orange Bowl and giving Charlie Ward and St. Bobby the short field and quickly the lead. And then missing the final 47 yarder.

  9. Yeah, I'm ok with the down home folksy style, but it's clear he didn't major in syntax............
  10. I'm also guessing the the Minter kid could be a potential DB target. IIRC, according to the local press, Mike moved back to Lincoln expressly for the purpose of getting his son in front of the Husker coaches eyeballs...........
  11. Interesting that you think Aaron will be the starter after Rex. Seems like Ameer was the first sub in most games this year, was he not ??
  12. That's an interesting take. If true, it would seem to be a marked departure from how Doc handled JBD when he arrived at semester a few years ago. IIRC, we had the smallest team in Div I, but that scurrying group of muppets played their guts out and we couldn't get over the hump because we had NO size. In that case, Doc took JBD along on road trips but ultimately did not play him, preferring to save the year for the future. Seems like the diametric opposite of what you are interpreting for the mighty Almeida. Not saying you are incorrect, but it would appear to be a departure in philosophy for Doc. Although, it may have to do with Doc feeling more pressure to win NOW.
  13. Agreed. Regardless of what folks think of Barney, his kids are producing and becoming integral parts of the team. Ben is the only one who has produced and/or became an integral part of the team. The book is far from closed on this yet........................
  14. Obviously Suh needs to invest in Super Glue and then dip the laces in skunk urine.................
  15. Nothing unexpected here..............move along to other recruits who may potentially choose to be N...........
  16. I know it's fashionable to bash the entire Cotton clan because of Barney's (perceived coaching skills or not) rep on most fan boards, but I am glad we have all three Cotton kids as Huskers (including Sam next year)........
  17. It's a good fit and a natural landing spot after KU. Good location to burnish credentials and, after Weiss falters big time in Lawrence, folks might be inclined to give Turner some retrospective credit..................
  18. From today's Lincoln Star.......... Sadler knows the 6-foot-11, 330-pound center, who averaged 15 minutes, 5.2 points and 4.3 rebounds as a junior college transfer last season, could provide quality bench minutes in a physical Big Ten Conference. "I'd like for him to help us win one game," Sadler said. "Obviously there comes a point where you're not going to jeopardize a whole season, but we're not even close to that." Sadler has previously said that Almeida would redshirt. But. … "If we could have him ready, I'd say, by the middle of January … because the way the league looks right now, with it being considered the top league in the country, if you can get up to maybe eight or nine wins, you could make the NCAA Tournament. That's still our goal." I'm trying to read between the lines with this Doc quote today. Hell, I'm even trying to read ON the lines and I can't translate Doc-speak. On one hand, he seems to be saying that if Almeida can help him win even ONE game in the B!G, it's worth it.......... But on the other hand, he feels it's NOT worth it to waste the whole season for just a couple of games. (I agree with THAT) But he's willing to do either and wait until mid January to decide..............? Somebody, please translate.............
  19. Looks like his potential STATUE at Pitt will come to the same failed fruition as his unfulfilled desire outside Memorial Stadium.........................
  20. Maybe he'll go for Wanny.........part deux...............
  21. Congrats to him..............this is an awfully tough conference to be garnering honors...................
  22. ah............my opinion is that the good ol' NCAA is arriving AFTER the fire ( championships crowned, paid players now in the NFL, etc).......................with a grand gesture of their woeful inabilities to have TIMELY sanctions.....
  23. It is interesting for sure. Wonder if he is miffed at the Mad Hatter and Co. Probably feeling a little less love after they went after another LB..........................which begs the question..........IF that is his reason (and we don't KNOW that it is)..................do we really want someone afraid of some competition?? Ha............good rejoinder.....................although it's not jumping to a conclusion.................just idle speculative musing passing the day.........................
  24. Wasn't he hired at Bama AFTER Shawn Watson said no to Saban...............?? Strange world...................
