  1. I knew that at some level but didn't want it to be true I guess...by whom though? I'm guessing this refers to only the players themselves? Would this forbid them from obtaining an off-season part time job or something? In short, they could obtain a job ... but that employer couldn't promote that employment. Think: a car lot "employing" a player and using his likeness as a star athlete to promote their business.
  2. lol. One of the comments after the article. I saw that comment and couldn't stop myself from laughing out loud.
  3. NCAA rules prohibit the use of athletes' names and likenesses to promote businesses or other for-profit entities.
  4. That is pretty much how I saw it going, too. Just found it interesting considering the similar happenings with the player from UNC (I think).
  5. Was just reading about this and came to HuskerBoard to see if anyone had brought it up. http://deadspin.com/5870228/not-this-sh#t-again-now-its-south-carolina-football-players-promoting-a-nightclub-party First, I did not know his nickname was "Doo Doo." WOW. Second, I wonder what comes out of this?
  6. This is big for us. Welcome to the Huskers, Seisay. Earn that Blackshirt!
  7. Sean_Callahan Sean Callahan FootballScoop.com is reporting Iowa defensive line coach Rick Kaczenski as a candidate to join Nebraska's coaching staff. #huskers
  8. Where did ya hear that!? Dont you think its odd that Stoops hasnt accepted the tOSU job yet. As time passes and he hasn't committed to OSU, you have to think that our chances are getting better. I would like to think that we will probably hear something next week after Carl is announced on Monday.

  11. Please refer to Bo Pelini's Quarterback Graveyard. I am not discounting Wilson, because he is very good and they have great team speed, but I have confidence when Brothers Pelini have 30+ days to prepare for a Quarterback who is a pocket-passer.
  12. I got REALLY excited when I saw the Northwestern game. Then, I realized I mixed up the dates. Wish it was the same weekend as the Ryder Cup! I don't think I can make two trips to the Chi in back to back weeks.
  13. Great run by Roy! He is one of my favorite Huskers ever.
  14. Michigan will probably get an at-large BCS spot. If Wisconsin wins the title game, they go to the Rose Bowl and it's highly unlikely that Michigan State would be chosen ahead of us because our traveling reputation is quite a bit better. That would put us in the Capital One Bowl, which picks first from the B1G teams after the BCS games are decided. If Michigan State wins the title game, there's a solid chance Wisconsin gets picked up by the Capital One and we fall to the Outback. If Michigan State wins AND Michigan gets passed by the BCS (highly unlikely), we could fall to the Insight. At this point I would say 50% Capital One, 40% Outback, 10% Insight. Pretty much exactly what I am thinking! I might add a little more support for the Capital One passing Michigan State. The Spartans have played in Orlando 3 of their last 4 Bowl appearances. Also, they lost all of those. As much as it pains me, I will be rooting for Wisky to beat MSU. Send us to the Capitol One Bowl and let us test our mettle against a solid SEC team.
  15. It is a coin flip with Baylor. They beat #5 and #14 teams, while we beat #11 and #12. (One of ours was on the road). Both teams got blown out playing away at two ranked teams. Computers love Baylor (offense) and they will edge us in the BCS. Look at Clemson. Oh my, how they have fallen hard!
  16. Michigan could finish in the top 14 though, if they win tomorrow. Of B1G teams, they have the best shot at an at large BCS bid, not the CCG loser. The pecking order will probably be: Rose Bowl - ccg winner At large BCS - Michigan 3 - ccg loser 4 - Nebraska (that sort of assumes that Wiscy takes care of PSU tomorrow... if PSU wins, Nebraska probably drops down further) So that'd put us in the Outback? If the B1G gets an at large BCS bid, I don't see Nebraska not getting an invite to the Capitol One bowl. Just way too much money to be made if a bowl chooses NEB. Michigan State has played in Orlando 3 of the last 4 years. I don't see the Capitol One Bowl picking them. Drawing Arkansas in the Capitol One will be TOUGH. They have A TON of speed on offense.
  17. Wow. A WR stepped up and made a great grab to help Martinez!
  18. If he gets hurt on either of those hits, its on the coaches.
  19. Hilarious that Carnes isn't getting some reps. Instead, Martinez pumps, pumps, pumps and gets tackled.
  20. Our special teams TOOK AWAY three possessions from our offense and GAVE THEM to Michigan > forcing our D back on the field. Also, they gave Michigan a fake FG > first down > Touchdown instead of 3 points. Awful special teams.
