  1. Once again... Comparing games doesn't work. You only have to remember last year for a very good example. Playing Wisconsin twice last year yielded different results with pretty much the same personnel. Didn't it? And that's about as close a comparison as you can get. Don't know how you expect other teams or games to compare. Ain't happening. And yes- To DOWNPLAY the two backup QBs success because this was a 1AA team would be plain old fashioned common sense.
  2. Short answer? BO WANTS TO WIN! I don't think many can dispute his desire to win games. When Bo put a hobbled TM in the game.... its because Bo thought that gave the team the best chance to win. Says a bit about the backups, doesn't it?
  3. Yes he has, and without the supporting cast they had around them.
  4. Really? You want to compare a game from 2010 to last week? Hmmm... different personnel last time on both sides of the ball. Comparing games doesn't work. Hell, playing Wisconsin twice last year yielded different results with pretty much the same personnel. Didn't it?
  5. I think that SDSU would beat Wyoming. Uh, no. Don't think so. On another note: The backups looked very good. Great poise in the pocket and accurate passing. Throwing nice passes against SDSU is one thing, they aren't known for pass defense, even in the FCS. Throwing against a BIG10 pass rush and coverage is another.
  6. Context added: First off, I realize it was SDSU we played. Our offense seemed so much more consistent and in sync with TA in at QB against an FCS team than Tmagic against BCS teams. He truly kept the FCS team defense on their toes. He can run it consistently for 5 yards against an FCS team, TA also has a cannon and is accurate against an FCS team, especially on the deep ball to Bell who dropped in the end zone. It was a near perfect pass against an FCS team. How many three-and-outs did we have against an FCS team? I just want to see consistency with our offense against an FCS team. Have a chance to score every drive like we can against an FCS team, unlike our O so far this year, too many quick drives resulting in punts against BCS opponents. If TArms is the best QB, you can bet your last dollar Bo plays him the rest of the season. Bo will play the best guys. Have a little faith.
  7. This. I think Bo has a QB controversy on his hands now 8.5 That there are those on this board that don't want to hear of your talk of talk about anyone other than TM starting the rest of the year. 9. That there are people out there and on this board who don't want to hear there is another option at QB besides TM. 10. That there are people out there and on this board who don't want to hear there is another option at QB besides TArms.
  8. Exactly. Playing an FCS school at home, Armstrong hasn't faced adversity yet. Tmagic has. Many times. And how did that work out against the better teams? Really? I'm going to go with this: Not as well against better teams as against lesser teams. Common sense isn't so common anymore. All QBs will perform better against worse teams than better teams. Bo knows football, I'm going to say that the backups are backups for a reason. This staff WANTS TO WIN GAMES! The coaches will field the best players. If he can go, they will play the proven Tmagic, if he is injured, then they'll play the best backup.
  9. Exactly. Playing an FCS school at home, Armstrong hasn't faced adversity yet. Tmagic has. Many times.
  10. We can only hope, however there is part of me that thinks Bo is Loyal to a fault with coaches as well as with TM. Bo wants to win! Its in his blood. He'll play the best players.
  11. why Abdullah is getting more touches than Imani Cross? Thanks, that solved my question. Not what you want to hear... but that's the answer to the question. I'd guess that Beck wants it that way and Bo approves it.
  12. Just win and the ranking will come.
  13. and gave up 200+ yards to an FCS back who averages 180. It's not like there was any doubt who was carrying the ball for the bunnies.
  14. Bo will start the best QB. (probably TMagic if he is healthy) have a little faith.
  15. Every team comes to win and every team is looking for a signature win. Good luck this week. You'll need it. The pellini crew will be looking to rebound from last week and the huskers will be hitting. Look out for a husker rout. Hopefully it will be an injury free game.
  16. Not bad? That's an understatement. Most folks want a dual threat QB. Martinez is also in position to record 9,000 career passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards, needing 2,409 passing yards and 142 rushing yards to reach those figures. If he would accomplish that feat he would join Colin Kaepernick as the only players in FBS history to reach the 9,000/3,000 career mark. Martinez is already just the 12th player in FBS history to pass for 6,000 yards and rush for 2,500 yards in a career.
  17. Stats aren't created in a vacuum. You can't fake them, they aren't massaged. TM had to earn them just like any other QB. He's adding new records with every throw.
  18. Athletics Tom Osborne became aware of these comments and the existence of a recording more than a year ago, and addressed the matter with Coach Pelini. 'nuff said!
  19. Ridiculous. Martinez isn't a pocket passer. His legs are his best weapons. If he can't run the defense will just sit back and not rush since he wouldn't be a threat with his legs. Martinez isn't good enough to beat a defense with his arm the entire game. Oklahoma St. 2010 Southern Miss 2012 Northwestern 2012 Minnesota 2012 All terrible defenses. How did that go against UCLA this year? I don't care what you say, Martinez is not a pocket passer and cannot defeat good teams with his arm alone. I'm a Martinez fan but then guy is not good enough to sit in the pocket and pick apart defenses when the defense does not need to worry about his running ability. Maybe not. But no nebraska QB has been better- Nebraska Career Passing Yards Record Holder (6,591 yards)- and he's not done re-writing the record book. He isn't chopped liver.
  20. Yup. Bad games happen, but the general direction is important. Bo knows football.
  21. Technically, he did not. He inherited a one year removed from a National Championship team. Thanks. I stand corrected. I'll try to be more concise here. TO inherited the leftovers from a 9-2-1 team, one year removed from a National Championship and went 9-2-1 in his first year.. Pelini inherited the leftovers from a 5-7 team, 11 years removed from a National Championship and went 9-4 in his first year. Although every subsequent coach has been compared to TO, Their eras are very very different.
  22. Yup. Definitely an apples to oranges comparison. TO inherited a National Championship team in the Big2 conference and still had some rocky results. Pelini inherited Cally's sub-par teams and had to manage the conversion from the Big12 to the Big10. Different eras for sure. Just pointing out that the TO era wasn't pure football dominance. He went through the "can't win the big game" crap too... a string of bowl losses and getting owned by Switzer and OU.
