  1. Yea big business needs more breaks, sure as if this has not become a corporate welfare state already. We pamper these companies who often are duopolies in a given market so much we cant even afford to have them fail anymore. Hell most the companies are American on paper but they sure as hell don't want to have anything to do with bettering the country that allowed them to succeed to begin with. Yes we could be like China and sure we could on average make less then $1000 a year in income, but I would pass on that. As much as whiny and screwy unions can be they can dictate a reasonable wage for Americans that others have to match if they want the better workers.
  2. Yea I've never heard of death on this scale even by soccer standards. Still cant quite figure out why such a finesse oriented game has so many violent supporters world wide. It is international so there can be lots of bad blood there and the stakes are higher then in our sports, but this sort of violence occurs like in this case in local matches. Maybe it starts with the International matches and the "culture" of the sports is affected locally. I'd be afraid to take kids to a game in some of the international leagues, yet I would have no worries taking them to a much more physical game of football.
  3. Some of the quality tv shows.. Mad men Sons of Anarchy Breaking bad Sherlock(damn is that good) Weeds(seems you caught that already) Dexter Spartacus(might be gone by end of February as the Starz deal ends). Californication(if your kids are far and away) Damages Rescue me Doc martin(if you like a fish out of water type show and Brit humor)
  4. It is sad and disturbing to think a government exists with values so far out of whack. I guess it makes sense though. Weren't Greeks the original pedophiles? Original pedophiles? There was no such thing as the original pedophiles. Every human settlement was by today's definition. With an average lifespan of mid 30's they had to get it on early back then. You had to be a man or a woman much earlier to have kids, work and of course learn to kill others with sharp things. Even in recent history this was fairly normal as marriage most of the time was just a business transaction.
  5. This is a bit weird, so you are a fan of a football program(likely from your state) only because they win? And create some other allegiance for a couple more wins a year? The only thing I can think of is that you want to wear some teams jersey and say "I'm a winner!" as you stroll down the street. That's just to easy though, this must be a trolling in progress.
  6. Yea, the one's running the bowls wont let go of their tax free cruises and human growth hormones any time soon. Whatever comes out of these latest talks will be half assed as well. It might take another 15 years of controversy at the end of each season to move to something different again.
  7. If true, what a travesty..................Sanders was undoubtedly the most exciting runner I have ever seen............. In fact even though Okie lite had Thurman Thomas ahead of him, I still marveled at Pat Jones keeping Barry off the field for so long....... I second that, that would be the biggest blown call in college recruiting, much like in the NFL Green bay recruiting Brian Bosworth instead of Sanders. I have never seen anything like Sanders in my life, but hope to see it again.
  8. I don't know if that's decent as on average NFL game's this season drew this many people, for a "championship" game that's pretty bad. College football bowl ratings have dropped again and it seems the sport is doing quite a job at making itself not very relevant. Moving bowl games to ESPN didn't help and the ratings on ESPN are lower then last years ESPN average. There just is not much excitement in post season. There is always controversy and much of the country tunes out mostly irrelevant games and a half-assed finale.
  9. Unless there was a conspiracy, no it was not a catch, this was not a call made on the field in the heat of the action, but a call made with clear multiple views, zooms and slow motion. Considering the tools and time at their disposal they would have made the right call.
  10. Yea Gingrich is a poster child of the Republican hypocrisy. Seriously how many sex scandals did Republicans have in the last couple decades(gay ones at that). That guy while criticizing Clinton for getting some was having an affair with a staffer himself at the time of him wasting our tax money on testing Lewinsky's dress, now that's a hypocritical scumbag for ya. In the end if anyone buys the Republican family values nonsense is a fool. Politics controlled simple minded people with religion for millenniums, except that they used to proclaim their leadership was ordained by God(sort of like Bush). They are not interested in you folks or any morality. It's all about control, some people just want everyone else to do things and behave how they want you to behave, so they can keep their advantage. That's why they will fight tooth and nail against those different them them and their rights. First it was opposition to women having rights, then blacks and now it's the gay's turn. If the Republicans can get some sane people back into their party I'd be there, I used to vote for them, but right now it's a hysterical zoo.
  11. They are an entertainment company, not a news company, sort of like E! TV. Any quality reporter worth their salt has left that place. They are basically making infomercials for the SEC "national championship", it's sad what this partnership with them and NCAA is doing to the sport.
  12. Nebraska could have done a heck of a lot better this year and next year will depend on if your coaches make them a disciplined team. To many penalties and mental errors is where you let the games get away from you. Without those, that unit could be quite deadly, otherwise there will be some disappointment.
  13. Hmmm, whats that Badgerfan?
  14. This reminds me of a shot of George Perles in 1988 Rose bowl vigorously adjusting he's "member" during the game.
  15. Thanks Nexus! Have a good next season.
  16. The announcers even thought it was good....the stutter step should be a false start if the ball hasn't been snapped....but again beamer gave it away so he deserved to lose...this game should not have been close. As I mentioned it was not a pretty game, but there is no "the game shouldn't have been" so and so, because it was, the game was played. And since when are the announcers right? Michigan Ball, I can't really read if you're a UM fan or an MSU fan but it doesn't matter...I'm directing this at you either way... I hate Michigan State. I hate both.....i will give you the announcers being right thing BUT I feel bad for that kid because it was one of the greatest catches I have ever seen. It was a heck of an effort. @Badgerfan I can pull for both(it's a state thing in the end), But MU get's the tiebreaker. I had work related association with them and liked the helmets since a kid. Not surprised about how you feel about MSU though, but it will diminish as you're schedule fades after next year.

  18. They were going with Michigan from the start as long as they got 10 wins, CEO or not Wolverines will get good bowls for many reasons much like Nebraska getting a top non BCS bowl. You know, national following, traveling fan base and thankfully we in the BIG can ride on the coat tails of our tradition and national exposure, which we are resented for in some places. But blame the system in the end and not our rich wonderful history
  19. Man, not the prettiest game, more of an opportunistic win, we were good on D in the red zone at least. Hokies played very well though.
  20. Not a slaughter at all, they are damn fast though, big play or nothing type team, however their D seems a bit soft as you can just pound the ball on them. Like I said to me the turn around happened when their D got a long breather during that injury. The time of possession was very lopsided due to them scoring so fast and Badgers just pounding right at them.
  21. Thanks Nexus ! We all needed that one for the B1G... Very hard fought game as you saw, and this year we were able to match up with the athletic talent of Georgia. We're quite proud of Cousins and you can imagine. Also, thanks Michiganball for the support... Personally, I want UMich to kick VT up and down the field. We need another win for the B1G !!! Yes I'd like to see that too. Have to tell you what bothered me about the Spartans the most for decades, it was them beating Michigan every other year and doing nothing after. Slowly that may be changing and this year some of your class went out with a bang. Hope you guys can continue and stay consistent, except for Michigan of course:) See you next year.
  22. Badgers had the momentum until that Oregon player got injured, their D got a 10 minute break out of that and Badgers were a bit out of sync. Up to that time they had around 25 minutes to 13 minutes in possession. Oh well close game.
  23. Heh oh man, there were 2 open receivers behind the Wiscy lines. The bad thing on scoring this fast and if Wisconsin can continue to grind for scores is that Oregon D will get tired. Then again, will they need a D?
