  1. Basically sounds like it counts as his first strike so he's now tested more often going forward and - while there's no suspension now - another "positive test" would lead to a longer suspension because he's a step farther in the process.
  2. Oddly enough I've never been tempted to label Barfy a "great mind." It's usually closer to "hack columnist." But I digress. I saw that Tweet earlier and had to look about three times to make sure it wasn't from some Onion-ish site. Takes some pretty heavy rationalization to try to convince yourself that's as true as you'd apparently like it to be. And it's interesting how quickly the excuses have gone from "Miles has to be given a chance to develop that great sophomore class he recruited" to "it's good they're gone because we're better without them."
  3. I do think his completion percentage will be good but considering Taylor Martinez had two seasons of 62%+ completion percentages, I think the bar could use to be raised a bit.
  4. I can't get the image to embed here on mobile but here is the most recent demographic info I could find. It's not just high school recruits but I can't imagine the disparity would be that great to overcome the difference shown.
  5. I would bet a lot of money that if you did a study on popularity for the 'big 3', where the only participants were high school recruits, that Adidas would be the most popular right now. I think you would lose that bet.
  6. Why would his offer be uncommittable? It almost assuredly is not. Apparently not high enough on our board.
  7. Was it at a party? No. I am not wasn't that cool. Lets hear the story! I used to ref intramural basketball. One night I drew an game where about 14 of the 18 players between the two teams were Husker football players. Joe Walker. Dave Volk. Octavius. Etc. They were all getting a little chirpy during the game - at each other, not at us - and I spent most of the game hoping it didn't go any farther than that because I was not about to try to step in the middle of it to break it up. But I really didn't think anyone seemed to have that much of a problem with our officiating. Until after the game when I turned around and found McFarland right in my face. He said something to the effect of "If I ever find you outside the rec center, I'll bury you." So that was fun. You still in there? Ha! No, I snuck out when he wasn't looking.
  8. This is a great show. Lots of interesting topics. Pretty interesting to learn why you think the way you do. My kids love it as well. They will dvr it or watch on Netflix all on their own.
  9. Is that average star rating? It was based on total points. Based on average star rating we would be 8th. LSU(89.70) and Northwestern (84.64) would fall behind us. LSU has 16 commits and NW has 13. Edit: We would be 13th overall based on average star rating. 8th if we are just talking the top 10 based on total points. So we are 13th... nothing else matters. Pretty sure that's a stretch. But since you mentioned it....

B1G Average: .5658; Big 8/XII Average: .5642 Under Collier, the Big XII was better 4 out of 6 years. B1G: .5614; Big XII: .5640 Under Sadler, the B1G was better 3 out of 5 years. B1G: .5656; Big XII: .5727 Under Miles, the Big XII has been better 4 out of 5 years. B1G: .5664; Big XII: .5774 Under Miles, the B1G Average RPI has been .5664. Under the other three coaches (all but one year in the BiG XII), the Big XII was .5642, .5640 and .5727 for an overall average of .5665. So, generally speaking, the B1G was slightly tougher under Miles than the Big XII was for Nee and Collier, though the Big XII was noticeably tougher for Sadler. Overall, there is hardly enough distinction in the overall toughness to even be brought up.

  12. Yes, could play receiver as well. In fact, we were originally recruiting him as a receiver but change to cornerback in the last month or so.
