  1. He's actually from Kimball. Not sure on this. Maybe it's just because he always looked awkward to me but I watched him play several times in high school and I didn't think he was B1G material. Not that he doesn't have talent, I just wasn't convinced it would translate well. Different kind of player but I thought the same about Wes Eikmeier a few years ago - great high school player and solid lower-division college player but just doesn't quite fit in a Power 5 conference.

  3. Agree with this. Nothing against KJJ because I think he's a great get. And this isn't trying to take away from this staff's recruitment of him. But we had a good chuck of help on KJJ that we won't get with almost any other recruit. And there's a bit of that residual with Gebbia but he definitely has other options. I'm a little surprised at who he has in his Top 5. Maybe I'm reading this totally wrong but it seems to be down to us and Ole Miss. So if we can out-duel his parent's alma mater which is a schools that's had a higher profile lately than Nebraska including being about the most absurd play you can imagine away from playing for the SEC championship and a playoff birth, that's some good work.

  5. Well, well, well. A funny thing happened on the way to the podium. Kansas bowing out early and Notre Dame going down leaves jsneb83 with only one team left (Oklahoma). Tricky thing is, TAKODA still has Oklahoma AND North Carolina left. Obviously the Oklahoma picks will cancel each other out. So TAKODA needs 151 points from North Carolina to pass jsneb. Which North Carolina would seem to have a good chance of doing if they make the championship game.

Can't complain too much after winning 13 out of 14, though.

Mix of both, for me. Still don't trust this pitching staff. Just don't have definitive reliable guys that you know will close games. While winning 12 of 13 is very impressive, we haven't played the heftiest competition during that stretch. Not a cupcake either, but I think we learn more about this team when we play Illinois next weekend, at Michigan in a few weeks, at Michigan State later. Even against Creighton, who is having a really solid start to the year. Would love to see this team keep it rolling. Agreed...though to add to that, Purdue is one of the worst offensive teams in the B1G, and we gave up 11 in two games to them. Our offense and defense appears to be on track, but our pitching has derailed. I'd love for us to get all three things on the same page for once; it's maddening how we have one or two phases locked down, only to be derailed by a third we had nailed down the prior season... Eeeeeee.... pitching not exactly stellar again. But the offense is clicking.
