  1. Agree that this is the odd thing about it. The way I understand it, if we were going to go over 88 - which we would if Talan commits - someone would have to be gone already. That wouldn't necessarily be shocking but even media guys are saying they haven't heard any rumors so far.
  2. ... even recruiting restaurants. Or not. Deadspin
  3. That's the only other name I've seen.
  4. Bordering California - 36 of the Rivals 250 are from there. They are constantly playing there which gives a lot of exposure. Add in Oregon and their border states and there's 41. All Nebraska's border states combined have four this year and we got two of them. 83 of their 124 man roster are from in-state or border states. They built their program up on Nike dollars and a then-weaker Pac-12, a great OC/HC and are now rolling. Simply stating it is bordering CA isn't telling the whole story since it is 850 miles from LA to Eugene, OR. http://uxblog.idvsolutions.com/2014/12/2015-college-football-playoff.html And it's not to be simply dismissed either since they play in LA every year.
  5. No you can have 88 through sometime in the summer (start of fall camp?) before you have to be back down to 85.
  6. Yeah, that was the thinking right after the interview. But most of the media guys started to realize afterwards that they weren't counting the four early-enrollees in that 19. We're at 20 now, would have taken Paulo and are expected to get Talan tomorrow. That's 22 and we might have taken one more somewhere along the line if things worked out - especially Lewis

  8. Doesn't look like it. The only thing would be waiting for Talan's announcement but I think he's . Shocked if anyone leaves.
  9. I don't think so. The 19 number didn't include the four early-enrollees. We would have taken Paulo and we'll take Talan.

  11. I agree that 88 would be a good number to shoot for. I have us at 88 right now and it seems like Talan is the only target remaining.
  12. Reed definitely. I'd put Davis in that category as well. He's undersized (for his height) and he's only played football for a year. That being said, I LOVE offering him because he's the perfect player to fill out this class - an under-the-radar guy with really good potential. But that doesn't change the fact that he's got a lot of work to do to get there. I also won't be surprised if Sykes gets lost in the shuffle like Joesph seems to be.
  13. There are VERY few non-contributors that will be juniors and seniors this fall. The only one I'd put in that category is David Sutton and he might get a new shot with more TE usage.

  19. Yeah, apparently I was too tired and forgot the receivers: QB - Stanton RB - Cross -or- Taylor FB - Janovich OT - Streup, Lewis OG - Price, Kondolo C - Reeves TE - Carter WR - Westerkamp, Burtch -or- DPE DT - Valentine, Collins DE - McMullen, Gangwish LB - Banderas, Rose, Santos CB - Davie, Jackson S - Gerry, Alexander So that's three on offense who didn't start at all (counting Janovich) and two on defense, both of whom were unavailable last year.
  20. We SHOULD win this game. They are the worst team in the conference at 1-7 and their only win is the next-worst team (Rutgers) and they've lost seven in a row since then. At home - we get this done.
