  1. Mike Farrell of rivals has picked Bama, OSU and Rocky Top as the destination for Bell in the past month or so... People don't know what the hell is going on! Two more of the Rivals guys have switched their prediction from Tennessee to Ohio State for Bell (so now 4 of 8) and both of Scouts (Newberg & Simmons) are predicting he ends up in Columbus. But as Woody said I don't think anyone really knows as Bell has really played his cards close to the vest. Possibly (or not) related to Clark & the Ohio State WR derby...It looks like long time verbal Taivon Jacobs may be thinking about staying closer to home (Maryland). FWIW I take Chung's tweets with a big grain of salt.
  2. I think most Ohio State insiders would say he's probably a Florida lean right now.
  3. I've never really bought that line of reasoning. Do you really think the B1G & Pac are worried about GORs being 'undone'? Nobody in either conference is at risk of going anywhere (no, not even PSU).
  4. Sorry couldn't help but laugh at that (in regards to pretty much any Hollywood movie). That being said I agree that there's little to suggest the Oher situation was shady.
  5. It's a somewhat affluent suburb south of Chicago. FWIW a number of SEC schools have official 'welcome girls' whose job is to escort recruits and make them feel... well ...welcome. They get away with it by also using them as chaperones for other prospective students. When I was thinking about coming back east from California, UK was one of the schools I contacted about transferring to (mostly because a buddy was in school there) and one of their Wildcat Honeys (or whatever they're called) was my campus guide.
  6. If Kansas (or whomever) decides to move a deal will be made. The Big 12 isn't going to leave money on the table just to spite a school who wants out. They'll arrange to return the rights for some percentage of the paper value of the media rights. They're not going to turn down cash in the tens of millions just to sit on rights that no longer have much value to them. These are business decisions & pragmatism (usually) rules the day.
  7. One of Denard's future arena league opponents.
  8. Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Kansas State, West Virginia None of those teams are academically acceptable to the Big Ten and only one of them (Oklahoma) brings any actual value.
  9. Your best shots: 133 - Nagel vs Conaway 141 - Kelly vs Pearsall 157 - Green vs Alton 174 - Brown vs Kokesh 285 - Gingrich is beatable I believe both Alton brothers are both supposed to be in the lineup otherwise I'd add 149 to the list. The big problem is that PSU has guys that are likely to score bonus points in most of the other weights. Final 33-9 125 - Megaludis - forfeit 133 - Conaway over Nagel - major dec 14-5 141 - Pearson over Kelly - 2-0 149 - Sueflon over Alton - pin (5:33) - Huge win for Jake 157 - Alton over Green - 3-1 165 - Taylor over Koehn - Tech fall 16-1 174 - Kokesh over Brown - 10-7 184 - Ruth over Ihnen - tech fall 18-3 197 - Wright over Kolb - maj dec 10-2 285 - Gingrich over Johnson - 7-4
  10. They just wanted a chance to say no to Missouri again. Or as Mavric said for the vote or just to make sure everyone is on the same page going forward. Oh come on the Big 12 is stacked with teams that everyone wants to watch & is going to laugh all the way to the bank forever! Don't you read shaggybevo?
  11. Well there's a phrase you don't see every day.

  13. So has Cincinnati, Northern Illinois & Wake Forest. That doesn't mean anyone is begging for them to join eit...wait what side of this argument am I on?
  14. Edit: Vid removed Ninja'd by one minute by another Buckeye on a Husker board on Saturday afternoon...crazy.
  15. Turning into?! ESPN was nothing more than tabloid entertainment long before either of those entities existed.

The short story is that PSU bought it from Indiana. PSU fans don't travel well and Indiana attendance is normally weak anyways so it was financially a better move from them.
  18. Two contested cities in Missouri aren't going to pay the bills for Kansas.
  19. And my point is Kansas doesn't bring enough markets to pay for itself either.
  20. If you are using the cable/viewers model then Kansas is equally worthless. Duke brings the same thing to the table that Kansas does, it's a national brand. It's arguable that it actually brings more value because there are far more casual fans following Duke nationally than Kansas. It's the same model that brought us Nebraska (waves to all the locals) - national brands can trump local markets. I'm certainly not pushing for Duke to make it in I just don't see how you can blast Duke when you are using the same argument that makes Kansas a non-target.
  21. How can you pimp Kansas in the same sentence that you call Duke worthless? Both are primarily BB brands with little FB history. The only real difference is that Duke is academically elite while Kansas is among the group most likely to be next on the AAU chopping block. Kansans may be nicer people than anyone connected with Duke but doesn't pay the bills.
  22. We need do no such thing. This isn't a criminal court.
  23. I know it doesn't help you guys but... GatorSports
  24. I think the Maryland reaction might be a better comparison (although still not perfect). Most Terrapin fans were pretty negative about the move until the ones in support of it took the time to break down the positives. The general mood changed rapidly after that point. If UNC does join the B1G I don't see anything like an A&M style revolt happening. The biggest fear seems to be a belief that NCST would jump to the SEC and immediately become some sort of FB dynasty. I find that rationale pretty weak. UNC in the B1G would be on equal footing financially (at the very least), the only thing preventing them from maintaining their position would be an athletic department that doesn't utilize it's strength. You must really hate Kansas because seriously F' Duke.
  25. Despite Flounder Hoke's confusion, the Bobcat's are not members of the B1G. Seriously though thanks for doing that legwork. It's certainly plausible that whoever made the map just looked at the official rosters on every school's website, most (if not all) of which make no distinction between scholarship players & walk-ons.
