  1. Our national perception is better than our local one, eh? Ahem...I'm not that good at making videos, but I had to do this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdREpCADcr8
  2. All you have to do is judge the man by his own standard. Championships is his standard. Seven years, zero championships (and I'm not talking about divisional ones, either).
  3. You may be on to something here but for an entirely different reason. I like the guy but his personal life did him no favors when it came down to keeping him or letting him go. Agreed, and good point, but we're talking perception, here, right? I mean, people talk about "oh, Frank shouldn't have been fired, yada, yada," but they forget about this: So (to your point) when people use Frank Solich as a reason why Bo should or should not be here as the head coach, it's a weak argument for me, either way.
  4. On paper - Melvin Gordon had 9.1 yards a carry between the tackles.
  5. Here's the perception about firing Solich around the country: "Whaaaa? They fired a guy who's coming off a nine win season?!?" Here's the perception about firing Bo around the country: "Why haven't they fired this clown yet?" See the difference? Agree. Solich was kind of a sympathetic figure to the outside world. I'm pretty sure Bo is not. Just a guess though. Solich is a well respected coach because he kind of embodies a lot of Doc Tom's traits. He's one of the 'old guard' of coaches, old school fatherly type figures. Not too many of those left around, and other coaches recognize that. Oh, don't believe me: Most coaches are now CEO types because of the $$$ involved in the programs. Bo? So, is he toast if he goes 8-5? I'd have to say, yes.
  6. You could have Vince Young, Braxton Miller, or RGIII back there. Would not make a difference.
  7. Whatever they're gonna do, they better do it fast.... He's getting looks from other schools. http://247sports.com/Bolt/Bellotti-Thinks-Florida-Should-Target-Scott-Frost-33053791
  8. For all the people that whine about folks talking about letting Bo go (including KB).... All I gotta say.... 9+ yards a carry BETWEEN the tackles. You can say it was the edge allllllll you want. 20+ yards a carry outside the tackles, btw.
  9. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DB2MUs-joIY Interview with Melvin Gordon.... "My legs are sore..." Yep, I would think so...
  10. LOL - Listen to what is said in this feature from this year's spring.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOhXJH1Ctzk Notice a few things.... Where's Bo? Never talked to Paps. Working on Communication. There was coaching on staying outside and getting leverage...
  11. Betcha Bo doesn't scream and holler in practice, LOL
  12. Here's the perception about firing Solich around the country: "Whaaaa? They fired a guy who's coming off a nine win season?!?" Here's the perception about firing Bo around the country: "Why haven't they fired this clown yet?" See the difference?
  13. If he doesn't win 9 games this year, I think that's the plateau that both he (and apparently, KB) has set. Just like he set the championship plateau - for himself. But not winning 9 games would def give SE an out to whack the guy. Don't think it's gonna happen, though. I fully expect Bo to pull stuff out his butt like he does every year, since he's in "Fickle Fan" mode right now.
  14. He'll be cheered by 92,000, come on. I'd cheer him too, although he's a Twitter knucklehead.
  15. And the hits just keep on coming. This is what people think happened on Saturday...and it ain't far from the truth, LOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOGd7w5PibE#t=38
  16. Mod has warned. Please change the subject. The man's faith has nothing to do with this thread.
  17. Jim Tressel has retired from coaching, fellas. He's happy where he is right now. Besides - why would Nebraska want to go on a possible five year sanction after the show-cause? If that were the case, we'd just keep Bo where he is for the next five years, LOL
  18. Most people, not all, that make this argument are not giving the players enough credit. I mean, we're talking about college educated MEN here, not kids. True, they're still young men. But they've got enough common sense to know what's up. They're not blind to what is going on. And to quote a phrase.... "Deserves' got nothin to do with this...." Technically, we're all grown adults who have chosen to vest some personal self worth on how how well the young men in one uniform play a game of no intrinsic value. Since that's what's "going on" we may not want to get too uppity. Uh, my self worth isn't determined on whether or not Nebraska is successful on the field or not. If that were the case, I wouldn't be worth much right now. Again, these players are young men, not little kids. If you think that they're going to lose their passion for the game just because some seats are empty, that's selling them short. They play because they love to play, not because we do/don't go see them play. Nothing uppity about that.
