Thanks everyone for the input. I wanted to get a good base of how folks think here. Let me say (also as a man of deep faith) that I am firmly pro-choice. My reasons may seem a bit different than others, however. I don't agree with abortion (except in the extreme cases outlined by others already). I also don't believe that it's my business to tell other people how they should live or what moral mindset they need to have. This is what makes me pro-choice. For those individuals that have a belief and use their beliefs to strong arm their will upon others - this causes more harm than good. It creates a negative opinion of the universal Church and believers in general. Also - things like this Roe decision (and other precedent being overturned) have nothing to do with Christianity. It has to do with a select few holding power over others - that want to continue to tell others how to live and what to do. Remember - the KKK was created in the church back in the day as well. Lastly - the scripture that was quoted above in Acts 26 is all well and good, however, Paul (formally Saul) had to be converted for him to have belief first. As humans, we all have free will to choose how to live our lives. If you believe in the same God that I do, then this isn't a foreign concept. If the Almighty above wanted to get rid of abortion - he'd do it himself, not suppress people in such a negative way. Free will is a biblical belief and often is overlooked.....intentionally. Revelation 22:17 talks about this. So - I am firmly pro-choice. I may not agree with things like abortion, but, again, who in the hell am I to tell a woman what to do with her body? That's up to her, not me, and when I stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ, I don't think he's going to hold me responsible because some gal in Arizona decided to get an abortion.

Cmdr. Chris O'Neill from the Highland Park Police said that law enforcement is still searching for the suspect. O'Neill provided the following description: "The suspect is currently described as a male White, approximately 18 to 20 years old, with longer black hair, a small build, and wearing a white or blue t-shirt," he said. O'Neill said a firearm has been recovered from the scene of the shooting. The police commander urged individuals in the area to shelter in place at this time.

It is amazing to me that the vast majority of posters here on HB have the same thought process I do, especially, in such a ruby red state. I'd love to know the general area of where those of you who are pro-choice live, and those who are pro-live are. Just to get an idea of where these thought centers are in our state, LOL....

Here's my personal take on this Roe Vs Wade ruling (FWIW).... It's interesting how many people are so misinformed on this subject. I've been talking to numerous people and they keep telling me that the SCOTUS "Overturned the Roe Vs. Wade Law." Me: It shows how much people truly don't give a da*n about Civics in this country anymore. I knew a guy growing up that taught me everything I needed to know about the basic way our government functions: I worked the Primary election in May here in the 2nd. If I had a dollar for every caller I got that: Didn't know that they weren't registered as they thought they were... Didn't know that their polling place changed because they threw away the card that Douglas mailed to them all... Didn't understand how the partisan ballots worked... Didn't understand that there are times when the polls take a break to collect ballots... Didn't understand that there was a registration deadline... I'd be a rich man right now. People are so unbothered about their own democracy until something happens they don't like, THEN they want to give a da*n. Meanwhile, MeeMaw and PawPaw with their walkers are working the election until 1:00 am in the morning. Shameful. The GOP - I gotta hand it to em. They know how to play the long game. Fifty years they worked on this, over numerous administrations, gerrymandering, borderline (and not so borderline) law-breaking attempts to subvert the Constitution. And here we are. Dems/Independents - take notes. Fighting dirty from time to time works. To all the younger folks...It's cool to protest...march...lay down in the street. I see you getting gassed, shot with rubber bullets. I respect that hustle. But what good is all that pain and misery if you DON'T GO TO THE BALLOT BOX FOR FIVE MINUTES?!? Sheesh. That's my rant.

I don't think we need to focus on trying to decipher any footage of what happened in the SUV. Only part that matters there is getting whomever was in that car to testify under oath. I've been saying this from jump. If Cipollone testifies, THAT'S your true John Dean moment, and Trump would probably be toast, because I think that opens the floodgates for others that are wanting to testify. As others have said here, Cipollone wasn't Trump's private attorney - he was a government employee. Hey, Andrew Carnegie wasn't a US born citizen, but the guy still started public libraries, has buildings and trusts named after him. It's not the fact a person was or wasn't born here - but if that person (whether they were born here or not) is obviously attacking the foundational institutions of the US to get rich...that's worth more than a look.

So, I watched the hearings on PBS online. After they were over, I switched over to CNN, and heard Conway and Wallace giving their very interesting takes on what we heard, then they began speaking with members of the committee right now. MSNBC is currently re-airing the hearing, and CBS is speaking with Benny Thompson (committee chair). On a whim, I switched over to Fox to see what they're saying about all this. I'm greeted with an ad for Duck Dynasty, and how they were going to be guests on Jesse Waters. Now, they're talking about having a "Spotlight Awards" dinner to celebrate "extraordinary employees." Nada about the hearing. Fox Business is talking about migrants coming over on illegal flights (quoting the NY Post, another Rupert Murdoch publication) , and "NewsNation" is speaking with some lady who just talked about Hunter Biden's laptop. What a joke.

People who understand how elections are run and are trying to change the outcome of said election. IF you don't understand how elections are run...GO AND VOLUNTEER AT YOUR LOCAL ELECTIONS BOARD. Quit being lazy and taking others word for it. You even get paid a little bit of money too

Hey everyone! Been busy, but these Committee meetings for Jan 6 are compelling to me. EDIT - Also....a lot of the folks saying that this last election was "stolen" have obviously never worked an election before. I've worked a couple up to this point, and trust me.....if you've never worked at a polling place (or your local election commission).... Meemaw and PawPaw being the center of a nationwide effort to steal an election would be cartoonish.
