  1. Good for you that you can see two guys kissing and holding hands and not have it bother you. Sorry but it's not something I can control, it turns my stomach to see that. If it helps, I really don't want to see two old fat straight people getting it on either. But, if they happen to kiss in public it doesn't make me throw up a little in my mouth like two gay guys does. Sounds like I'd get along alright with your dad. We'd probably have a hoot talkin bout you. What about two smoking hot chicks making out in public? They could rub that in my face all day long although it does make me a little sad since that means they probably wouldn't want to do the same with me. The girls don't bother me. I don't feel that is a double standard or inconsistency. Probably pretty normal for a guy that likes girls to not be bothered by hot chicks getting it on. I do know when it is in the movies, lesbos getting it on bothers my wife about the same as guys bother me. Unfortunately I guess that means no wild ménage a trois with me and two chicks at my house. Problem is, whenever I see two lesbians in public, they are never as hot as they are in the movies. I've always wondered this myself. If you compare gay men to straight men concerning looks, most times they are at least average looking if not above average (not that I am saying I frequently check out the looks of dudes all the time but you know what I mean) but if you do the same with Lesbian women vs straight women, more times then not they are average at best or below average concerning looks. Why is this? Seriously, there has to be some kind of scientific reasoning. I guess for straight guys, this is the best scenario as it takes more good looking guys out of competition and keeps more hot chicks in. There are definitely more Ellen's out there and not as many Portia's.
  2. Just remember that the odds are that the elevator/fertilizer plant were likely there way before the schools, nursing homes, etc were ever built as is the case in most small towns like this. I would guess this one is located along a rail line or abandoned one since that is how most of these towns sprouted up in the first place, then the town was built around these businesses. While agree that there needs to be regulations, it's not as simple as saying "Don't build here" when they have already been there for 100 years.
  3. Obviously the loss of life and those injured are the main story of this event but I will be very curious after this is all done what the financial impact that these two will have made on Boston and our country as a whole. Shutting a city down the size of Boston for even a day has got to be a huge cost. Then to think of all the additional security brought in but most importantly will be what happens after this event is over? How many millions or billions will we end up spending trying to make sure this doesn't happen again? What is truly scary is they could have done this anywhere. It would have been just as easy to walk up to the front Memorial Stadium before a game and do the same thing, or leave it in the middle of campus in between classes. Yes, let's get this loser still out there, grieve the dead a help the wounded but I come away from this wondering where do we go from here? How do you stop this from happening again?

BTW, Kansas this week. About as close to a home race for Nebraskans as it gets. Anyone heading down? Wish I could have but I'm not.

I like Brad but he's becoming a cry baby. Boo hoo! The rules changed from last year. You pushed the envelope too far and got caught, get over it. The rumor I read is the Penske cars were both parked next to HMS cars in the garage, #24 and #48. Apparently the HMS guys saw something with the cars and told NASCAR to make sure to check it out during inspection and that is how they got caught. Don't know if it's true or not but if Chad was involved then it would make it more believable.

Once again, Gordon sucks on restarts, great on the long runs and has some of the worst mechanical luck of any driver as has been the case the last couple of years. The guy has everything, beautiful family, money, a bright future after he is out of the car. If I were in his shoes, it would be hard to want to race much longer with the continued crap that seems to always happen.
  8. In related sports news, man shoots himself in the head at the NRA 500. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/14/nra-500-suicide_n_3082119.html Definition of irony right there, I tell you what.
  9. I think it looks like the exact opposite. You open a game with TV coverages saying 'Welcome to the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, NE'. The game starts and they are playing on FNBO court. Interesting. Ambush marketing at its finest by the FNB people for sure. As Landlord mentioned, whoever was in charge of the marketing at Pinnacle should be fired. I can't believe that Pinnacle didn't have some kind of clause in the contract saying no other banking institution could have sponsorship while they had the arena naming rights. This happened in NASCAR when when Sprint took over cup sponsorship and the drivers couldn't even have other cell providers on their car unless they were grandfathered in. When you are spending that kind of money you need to protect your investment better then this.
  10. Yea, I know this would never happen but just imagine if the BIG dropped Northwestern and Purdue, replaced them with Kansas and Mizzou, then added Oklahoma and Texas to get to 16. The western half of the BIG would be Texas, OU, KU, Mizzou, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisky. Sometimes it's fun to dream.
  11. As incentive for keeping the State bball tournament in Lincoln, I think every state champion boys and girls should get a dot placed on the Nebraska outline where their high school is located for a year. So for example, Omaha Central, South Sioux City, Wahoo, etc would all get a dot for their location.
  12. Right. Keystone XL or rail transport are the only two possible options. I don't know how I keep forgetting that. You forgot airplanes, and semi-trucks.. Both are brilliant and totally viable alternatives to pipelines Oil on the ground is easier to cleanup and less detrimental than oil in the ground. and both are easier to clean up and less detrimental then oil in the Middle Loup River. Thanks for playing.

  16. I've mentioned before that I looked into solar and I can't find anything even close to being economically feasible from commercial vendors. The stuff I've seen from from the do it yourself guides doesn't look worth the risk either. One thing that I have wondered with solar vs other sources like wind or hydro is with something like wind or hydro you are simply converting energy already received by the planet. With solar you are actually capturing more energy because much of it would have simply been reflected back into space thus increasing the Earth's energy budget and temperature. Wouldn't this mean solar is bad for global warming?
  17. I understand what you are saying. The issue is over half of a barrel of oil get turned into things other than gas. Thousands of products are made from the byproducts of crude. Just because cars are powered by what ever, does not mean we wont need oil. I've had just about enough of your common sense on here.
  18. I'm not here to play defender of ethanol but I can't agree that oil companies will be what does it in, corn prices will. Ethanol was a great idea when corn was $2.10 a bushel and the supply was overabundant. If demand and prices for corn continues to stay this high ethanol will be gone sooner then later. Just go ask all those geniuses who bought corn stoves how that's working out for them. If the guy from Sweden thought it was crazy to convert it to ethanol, he would have been in disbelief to straight up burn it for heat for in house. At least with ethanol you get some useful byproducts out of it, like distillers grain or gluten that you can feed to livestock. True. But it's pretty much all full circle. We're agreeing to disagree (or is it disagreeing to agree). With corn being so high, the margins have become thinner and thinner, thus pushing ethanol closer to that edge. It takes the oil industry even less effort to push it over the brink. It was a concerted effort of the oil industry and the ethanol industry itself to get it to this point. Yes, the oil industry does have that much power to manipulate. And it is sad that it is still not being addressed with any sort of legitimacy. Also the cornbelt-wide drought last year didnt help none. Supply took a huge hit. No not really. As I said before if corn was $2 a bushel it wouldn't be an issue, big oil would have little influence. Now take away ethanol's subsidies then it would have troubles even at low corn prices which by the way I am all for. I say get rid of subsidies for ethanol but at the same time get rid of them for coal, oil, natural gas, solar and wind. Let the market dictate what is most feasible.
  19. What do you think of the thousands of miles of pipelines already buried in Nebraska? Dig them out? Truck everything in instead? Go back to horse and buggy?

Boo Jimmie, If that could have stayed green I think Jeff could have got Jimmie on the long run, he just didn't have it on the short runs like the 48 did. Decent racing and nice to see the stands full.

  23. Agreed, one of my favorite aspects of political discussion is when average citizens seem to have a real belief that they could out perform the President at his job. When in reality, if given that amount of responsibility, they would piss themselves then crawl in a deep hole.... ehhhh, I'm not really seeing much difference, but for sure I would shoot the rock better.

Martinsville this week. JJ on the pole, boo. Guessing there will be a lot of attention this week on Joey since this can be a physical track. Martin gets the #11 this week not Sadler. HMS looks strong from the first practice and qualifying.
