  1. Oh, you can buy what every you want, I have a liquor store just down the road from me. You just have to plan ahead. http://www.heraldextra.com/news/local/central/provo/article_4564dcac-60f3-5c4b-ae23-16f607557482.html
  2. That's a joke right?? Campus? Pretty much the whole town is Dry as Dirt. Good luck with that. Their fans are OK, just a bunch of "goodie two shoes"....
  3. Living in Utah (about 30 mins from Provo), I'll tell you guys that BYU is OVERATED. They get (got) wins due to an easy mountain west schedule. Their fans think that God himself endowed their football team to greatness. It's fairly annoying. You guys should KILL them....
  4. This is an article about Alshon's draft status, but there's some good analysis of the effectiveness of Denard's press coverage play in the C1B.... http://www.hogshaven...ery-vs-nebraska
  5. Not being a Native American, I can't really say if they are or aren't. I have to defer to those groups and if they are offended, then they are. So, I didn't vote, but I'm inclined to agree with knapplc. That being said, my two favorite pro teams are the Braves and the Redskins... :/
  6. Being a NASCAR fan, I saw this come across the sports feed on my phone and thought of you guys, so here you go. Sorry if this is a repost... http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20120214/SPORTS0101/202140439/1004/SPORTS/Lions-star-Ndamukong-Suh-named-grand-marshal-of-NASCAR-race
  7. At least we do play them in a 2016/17 series. Nice! Didn't even realize. That would be an awesome place to go. I've heard great things about the atmosphere and the tailgating experience. One of the few stadiums where you can tailgate on a boat. Parking sucks tho, but with 110K people to seat, what cha gonna do???
  8. I think it's a positive. If a player doesn't work out as an athlete, I'm sure you'd always be able to switch them to an academic or other type of scholly...
  9. FWIW I heard on Paul Finebaum's show today that Florida did this too.
  10. Thanks everyone. I still check in here about once a week to see what's going on. Funny thing is this place could be CT, with only the names (players/coaches/posters) changed. I mostly lurk now, but when saw that and had to post it here. I have a few co-workers that went to/pull for Big10 schools (no huskers tho), so coming here helps me keep up with their teams too.
  11. Officer: What happened here? Bo: What do you think? You tell me. We all saw what happened. Officer: Actually, I... Bo: I just didn't execute. I give the other driver all the credit in the world. Bo: We'll be fine. We'll be just fine...
  12. Somehow, this came across my twitter feed this AM. (I think one of the gamecock feeds still has a twitter bot searching for Nebraska stories). Anyway, glad you coach is OK. I was going to <insert joke about Bo's temper here>, but I couldn't come up with anything that was both clever and good natured (I haven't finished my coffee or Redbull yet this AM). Side Note: How'd you guys do recruiting? Saw you picked up several pretty good LB's (same twitter feed :/). I think that's a good get for ya'll considering the loss of L.D....
  13. Thx. I know the right thing when I see it. This gives these student athletes a real chance, and not just a commodity to be exploited by an institution.
  14. Saw this one ESPN... http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7528614/some-big-ten-offering-4-year-scholarships I like this. Big Props.
  15. repost. deleted. OTOH... - LB Lavonte David of Nebraska continues to impress. He just made a great play in full scrimmage against the run, exploding up the field to stop Pead behind the line of scrimmage. 16. A little context on this combo, these were worn for a halloween night game. In that context, I think they work... http://www.govolsxtr...-black-jerseys/ I remember that because they were playing the gamecocks. (they whooped us good too...)
  17. I think you're just way over-simplifying a very complicated thing. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, because I'm sure you know this, but throwing and catching a football in a game is far more complicated than 'chemistry'. Perhaps you don't mean that, but it's the impression I'm getting. I wouldn't call it "chemistry", I'd call it trust. The QB can trust that the receivers will run the routes and be in the general area of where the ball is thrown when the ball gets there and the receivers trust the QB that when they get to "the spot" the ball will be there and only they will have a chance to catch it. When it works, and a team is clicking, it's almost like a sort of telepathy between the players....
  18. F&^% cancer. I saw this on my (gamecock) twitter feed and wanted to come over here and post my condolences to his family and husker fans everywhere. RIP Al. L
  19. Coach Osborne is a smart man. #statingtheobvious Nothing is worse than this....
  20. That would be the Redskins Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up...
  21. Technically, shouldn't Detroit be NU- EAST??? Inquiring minds want to know....
  22. And again, even that is not right. It should be 85 scholarships ... period. So while others have 85 they essentially gain atleast a 15% advantage and that's without exploiting other loopholes. If I could have 15% on my competition I would win a lot more. These issues should be NCAA issues and not set by the SEC. I KNOW that there are schools (in all conferences) that recruit players with good grades so they can put them on academic schollies instead of athletic ones....
  23. There is only one letter difference between Saban and Satan....
  24. USA today has an interactive poll where you can see how certain coaches voted. It's interesting. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/story/2011-final-coaches-ballots/51647436/1 The Huskers ranged from 16-22.
  25. Orange you glad..... you aren't a clemson fan this AM???
