  1. Well, it is a win. Ohh so ugly. What happened to Congdon? It shouldn't of been this close. Side note: Lou Holtz is clinical crazy. Not just because I don't like him much, but because HE IS a total nutjob. He was just on ESPN and you can see it in his eyes.
  2. The real problem with the offense today is the penalties. Shooting themselves in the foot. Taylor could scramble a little more.
  3. Crouch was the better athlete, Frost had more weapons surrounding him. QB, have to go with Frost.
  4. Possible recruits will definately respond to this one. Sure it seems excessive but what about most D1 football programs is not. When a recruit comes in and sees himself on a screen thant large they will be starstruck. Offer them a chance to play, a coach that can get them to the pros, and dazzle them with the pretty lights. Sure they could send some money to the gulf, I am also sure a lot of people could spare some money that they do not actually need, but they don't (have to buy 2 extra beverages, two more hot dogs, and maybe one of the cool foam fingers that say were #1). I can't blame SP for doing things like this. After all, from much that I have read on these boards, some people are putting a lot pressure on him to turn this thing around. He is going to whatever it takes to get players here. He can't buy them, but he can amaze the crap out of them.
  5. I don't understand what makes people think that the total overhaul of a program can happen in a year (or 2 or 3). Most of the time, those that are successful at it quickly, are not trying to take a (for the most part) pure run oriented offense and changing it to a more pass oriented one. THen take into consideration the inexperience of the WRs, the OL, and the QB. If this offense is simply able to keep Nebraska in the game this year I will be impressed. You have to take the good with the bad in situations like this (troubleshoot, if you will). And yes, the right personel make the difference. Could Peyton Manning come in and run an option oriented offense effectively, NO. He is a good QB, but within the right system. We have many people brought here to run an option attack, trying to pass-block. It will take time. Could someone name me a coach that could come in and install a non-option offense quicker and with the players from last year? Or would this simply be speculating (kind of the the gentleman who wrote the article).
  6. With all of the Big Ten alumns covering football these days(TV, papers, and polls)....This does not surprise me. My two cents: I don't think Iowa State looked as good as the Squawkeyes did horrific.
