  1. I'm not saying that RG3 didn't deserve to win, or Cam Newton either. I'm just pointing out that I can't believe that Te'o was voted second this year and I don't think he even holds a candle to what David did for us both years that he played for us.
  2. Ok, I don't have the energy any more. I am going to read your name on the board and agree that there is NothingToSeeHere. You just have to admit that it's hard to argue with someone that won't listen to anyone else's opinion and believe what their eyes tell them when they see a better angle of the situation. I will leave the arguing with you to the rest of the board and I will hope that you some day admit to yourself, if not to others, that you are wrong about this situation. Have a great day!
  3. The angle that your pictures show from is a terrible angle. If you combine your photos with the other ones also posted you can clearly see that Bell is leading with his shoulder and his head is going to the right trying to avoid having a helmet to helmet. Your photos are not even close to being from the side where there is the best view of the situation. I'm not attacking you personally as I have seen some people on here, I'm simply stating the facts. The fact is, it was a solid hit that looked a lot worse than it actually was because of the fact that Smith didn't see it coming and he just got lit up. If you combine your pictures with the one that Landlord posted earlier, you can clearly see that there was no helmet to helmet contact at all. Bell lead with his shoulder and Smith wasn't looking which made it an unfortunate circumstance for him. So what you're saying is that between the time of the third column of screenshots that I posted and the pic that Landlord posted, Kenny Bell pulled his head back to the right to avoid helmet-to-helmet contact? You guys might be on to something with the whole Superhuman Kenny Bell thing... As I already stated, your pictures are from a terrible angle and most of Smith's shoulder pads block the view of Kenny's head in your third shot. I do have to say that in the second column you can clearly see that he is starting to move his helmet to the right. I can't see how you can't see that Landlords picture was pretty much simultaneous with your pictures. The play didn't last that long. It's ok to admit when you're wrong, I just think you are too far in to this that you can't admit it. Even when you did see the pictures from a better angle.

  5. I don't think teams with lots of good players should be punished, although I did feel David was the most irreplaceable guy on the 2011 defense for us. I don't know if he was. I think he was a pretty good one who was highly productive in our system, but there were a lot of top linebackers. What about Luke Kuchely (swept the LB awards), or Dont'a Hightower (Alabama), for example? Can't measure with stats alone, the way you can sort of do on offense. I would still take David over both of them, but as I have mentioned, I'm biased. I know that our defense wouldn't have been even close to as good as it was without David. I don't know if you could say the same for Boston College or especially Alabama that year.
  6. I would agree that it helps out if you're on a really good team, but RG3 basically blew that out of the water! Not really. They lost three games but they won the last five before the Trophy presentation and were back up to #12. It was a little outside the norm but they were close to the Top 10 and he had plenty of "highlight reel" plays in addition to good stats. I would agree for the most part, but RG3 was still on a team that didn't dominate game after game. I'm not saying that he didn't deserve it that year though, because I think he was definitely the best player that year.
  7. True story about the teams you mentioned. I get so tired of hearing about how awesome Notre Dame is from most sportscasters when they finally have a good year. I swear that Notre Dame could go 0-12 for two or three years in a row and still be in the top 10 pre-season AP poll.
  8. I would agree that it helps out if you're on a really good team, but RG3 basically blew that out of the water!
  9. I guess I always thought that the Heisman was mainly for a player that was irreplaceable on his team, which David definitely was, the best player at his position that year, that I would argue David definitely was that year, and a good all around player that epitomizes college football. I just feel that it was a travesty that David wasn't really considered for it that year. I am obviously biased being a Husker fan though.
  10. The only reason that I didn't compare him to Suh was the fact that I wanted a LB. I agree that Suh should have won that year too. I am just upset that David didn't even get a look from the national media. It could be that he was a virtual unknown going in to the season because of coming from a JUCO, but it's still sad.
  11. It sure seems that way. There are a lot of things that need fixed in college football, and the Heisman is one of them. I guess I'm just a little baffled that one defensive player can place second when anther defense player that plays head and shoulders better than he does, doesn't even get considered.
  12. I have no idea if anyone has already brought this up, but if Te'o was considered for the Heisman this year, why didn't David get more love. I'm not trying to take anything away from Te'o, but I'm just trying to understand. Is it because it's kind of a more down year for playmakers than it was a couple of years ago. Here are some side by side stats between David in his best year 2010, and Te'o this year. Total Tackles: David (152) Te'o (103) Winner: David Unassisted: David (84) Te'o (52) Winner: David Interceptions: David (2) Te'o (7) Winner: Te'o Tackles for loss: David (15 for 60 yards) Te'o (5.5 for 19 yards) Winner: David Sacks: David (6 for 50 yards) Te'o (1.5 for 13 yards) Winner: David QB Hurries: David (7) Te'o (4) Winner: David Passes Broken up: David (10) Te'o (4) Winner: David I could go on, but I don't think I need to. So, what's everyones thoughts? I was thinking about this a lot last night as I was watching the trophy presentation.
  13. Great picture Landlord. I've never seen this picture of the situation before, but it clearly shows that the call was a terrible call and that Bell lead with his shoulder and didn't even come close to "targeting". Also, I have come to the conclusion that NothingToSeeHere has done a great job of stirring people up here and he is probably just sitting back and enjoying the show. Ignore him and he will go away, or I really hope that he looks at Landlord's picture and will finally admit that he is wrong!
  14. I think most people know what y'all means, but what the heck does coonass mean? I've never heard that one to be quite honest with you.
  15. Well said sir! GGGGOOOOO BBBBBBIIIIIIIGGGGGGGG RRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDD, GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!
  16. there ya go... I have a buddy. Hes from Iowa and a die hard Husker... his take on TM is and I quote "every time he throws the damn ball it looks like hes having a stroke" havent watched him myself what is your take on Taylor also whats up with the My little pony stuff lol You get the good with the bad with Taylor...................when he's on, he's on and can play with anyone in the country. When he's having an off day you just shake your head and wonder what he was thinking sometimes. He can change the scope of the game in one play and has gotten a lot better passing so I have to give the kid some credit. The pony stuff is annoying and was started by some of our members..................I try to ignore it. Great assessment of Taylor and I totally agree. When he's on, he gives defenses headaches. There will be plenty of people on here that will disagree with me, but most of those people dislike Taylor no matter what he's doing. I also agree with the pony stuff, and if it was just started as a joke then that makes it all that more annoying...........but I should just say to each his own I suppose. I guess I've seen it enough that I don't think much of it when I see it. Back to the matter of this post though..........I am counting down the days when the Huskers step on the field and hopefully bring their A game because if they do, it's going to be a great game to watch! GBR!
  17. +100 if I could! I would agree that I don't know enough about Georgia to talk trash about them either. I guess I'm just too busy hating Alabama, LSU and Florida to worry about Georgia!
  18. You are catching a lot of these guys at a bad time. Some of these guys don't like our current coaching staff and they like to be critical. Most of us here are die hard Husker fans and trust me when I say that I think we will beat you guys. I think a lot of people on this site will call me crazy, but I like our chances. I wish I could afford to go to the game and hang out with some of you Georgia fans. It's always fun to meet opposing fans and party a little bit! Trust me, on the day of the game I will be drinking beer and eating greasy food that's bad for me and cheering my heart out for my beloved Huskers! GGGGOOOOOOO BBBBBIIIIIIIGGGGG RRREEEEEEDDDDD, GO BIG RED!!!!!!!
  19. Over/under on the number of posts robby1220 gets to before getting banned: 30 Yeah, and what's bad is that that was PG for me. I like this board okay and yall seem to have some cool posters, but it's a little vanilla for my tastes. We have a profanity filter you can click on our board and they pretty much let everything short of nudity go. Except the word f****t, it auto edits it. We're not Southern, we're not foul-mouthed and we prefer actual conversation over "OMG MY WEINER IS BIGGER THAN URS HAHA U SUCK" diatribe. Don't let the door hit ya. I agree with everything you said, but the Georgia fans might take you seriously until they see your banner with My Little Ponies on it. I don't know the whole story behind the My Little Ponies, even though I have seen a lot of it on here, but I do know that the Georgia posters have to be thinking that they can't take advice on Husker fans from grown men that have My Little Ponies on their posts. I have nothing against you personally of course, and obviously it's just my opinion.
  20. This is the greatest news I've heard today! Granted, it's been a slow day, but it's still great news!
  21. I'm rooting for Nebraska. I would like to see them beat Georgia. But I also must be realistic. I agree with Malth, I get that some of you are playing the "realist" card, but there's a difference between being a realist and bad-mouthing the team. I, for one, think we have a better chance than a lot of people on here seem to think. I'm a realist, but I'm also a fan. GBR!!!! I will be rooting for you guys NO MATTER WHAT!!!! I know that there will be some people that will reply to me and say that they are fans too, but they are just being realistic because of what happened last night and I accept that. Some of those people will also be the first people to say "I told you so" if we take down Georgia. I, for one, thought we would beat wisconsin. They rushed for 539 YARDS. Georgia has a better running game and a better D than wisconsin, they are going to make us look silly. I dont see how you could have any confidence after last night's game. I might be a glutton for punishment, but I will still have confidence and stand behind them and root them on!

  23. I think it depends on the nature of the criticism. I don't think there are but maybe a handful of "fairweather" fans ion this board. Sure there are some negative Nellies but I feel most all really want to see the team succeed and nobody likes losing. That's not fairweather, that is passionate. I wasn't necessarily just talking about people on this board. I would agree that most of the comments I read are from passionate fans, but I have seen posts that seem a little fair-weatherish. I was mainly talking about people that I talk to in public that bad mouth Nebraska and their coaching staff when they lose, but are the first ones to jump up and down and scream that they knew we were going to go to the CCG!
  24. Silly question. It's obvious that Stanford is better than UCLA. IMO we want to play the best team possible. It almost seems that you would prefer the Huskers dodge the better team. Exactly. When we win the B1G championship and go to the Rose Bowl, I don't want anyone on the national level saying that Nebraska is just lucky that they aren't playing Oregon or Stanford. I would rather play Stanford and erase all doubt as to how good we can be against top-notch competition from other conferences.
  25. I liked this post, except for sounding like you are putting all Husker fans in one category. I would say that there are Husker fans and then there are Husker "Fair Weather Fans". "True" Husker fans support the team through anything. "Fair Weather Fans" are the first ones to criticize the team but are then the first ones jumping up and down and screaming "WE WON" when we win a big game. +1 for you on the post as a whole though!
