  1. I like TO's offense , sending in the plays with receivers. I know the signaling thing is all the rage.....it sucks.
  2. If I'm the AD , before making a huge decision about replacing the entire staff I'd want to talk to the players who were on the field and find out why they thought the game was such a failure. Their opinions would have a lot more weight than a bunch of angry fans spouting off. I know this game was one of the "big ones", but football has been very strange lately, especially when on prmetime ABC, so I wouldn't make any rash decisions based on this game and I damned sure would have a better replacement lined up before making a move. They miraculously play better against a top 20 team than they do a bottom-feeder....hmmmm.....something sure smells cheesy.
  3. How is it inexplicable if their AD knows us like the back of his hand?
  4. And Dirk just loves it doesn't he..... The shortselling bear who gets to gloat the most because he works for a newspaper. I'm sure the next coach will be all-world for a little while, then the cycle will start over again.
  5. We still have three games to play........let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater just because we have access to these self-defeating internet boards. There will be plenty of time to melt down after the season is over. This is no championship team, but it's not the worst team in the country either.
  6. TA can't even go through a progression or "see the field" in the passing game. Is he really correctly reading the D? Much like Martinez being accused of predetermining to keep the ball on the zone read and not even "reading" the DE.....Again, Beck can't teach our QB's anything as evidenced by lack of development and flat out regression. I know longer believe he can even teach them to read the D and audible correctly. With his dumb a$$ play calling, I doubt he can either....... Another good thread topic....getting players on the field who can do what they're expected to do.....pretty sure that one falls on the coach. I don't want to be the guy who keeps harping on a player who is doing the best he can.
  7. I tend to agree with the OP and about the no-huddle offense in general. I think the hurry-up offense can be used to your advantage against certain teams but when their defense matches up athletically you lose the advantage and many times play right into their hand by being so simple and predictable. Many times I've felt we rushed into a pivotal play and called a dud instead of taking the time to call the right one.
  8. Ugh...I'm not one to go after players and I understand they play hard and whatnot but...it's all about the fans. That's why they play the game. No fans...no game. Maybe I'm interpreting the post incorrectly but it sounds like you are saying we shouldn't be upset about another pathetic showing. The players play for the school (ie fans)...the product isn't what you see were it not for the fans. The fans are every bit as important as the players and coaches. There would be no need for a team without fans. Not trying to come off like a jerk. I just don't like the argument that we have no right to be upset. You have every right to be upset.....I'm upset......I just refuse to be part of an angry mob that thinks participation on a message board entitles them to run the program. I'm not gonna spend the next year pouting and calling people names if the administration doesn't give me what I want. Those decisions are what they were hired for and they have to weigh the pros and cons. The truth appears to be that we're just not that good yet....neither is Kansas State and a number of other teams that got unexpectedly trounced by basketball scores. Should they all trash the whole program and start over? I don't think that's for me to decide.....so in the meantime I'll just show up for the rest of the boys playing with a ball games and root for my team. Then at the end of the season if the university management decides they want to try something different, I'll be in support of that too. I really liked basketball coach Doc Sadler, but the new guy seems to be working out pretty good. Maybe they'll decide to make a switch? Maybe they're watching Craig Bohl's performance in the big leagues to see if his huge success at NDS was just a small division thing? I just think it does little good to sit around here tearing up the place. I think the opportunity to tear into our own team is the only reason some people come around.........it makes them feel important. No thanks. But coming around to argue with those people on a message board and tell everyone how you're going to be better than that is so much different and better. Give me a frikken break. We all come around here to discuss issue surounding this team. Some people want coaching changes made, it's an opinion they/we are entitled to. You can get off that high horse anytime you want. You can come around here and shout your opinion all you want, just don't act like you own the program when your newspaper buddies have your opinion on the the front page and start demanding what you want.
  9. I hear Brady Hoke will be available. Before I vote, who are you guys that voted no thinking about getting?
  10. Normally we get penetration but didn't seem to get much last night. Our receivers were being held most of the night and the announcers even made a point of saying that's just how they were gonna call it. Makes me wonder if our D linemen were being held and SGT. Schultz was officiating. Maybe our guys are lizards and can't play in cold weather. Who knows? If they had passed a bunch to the decoy receivers who were drawing our CB to the inside then you could say they schemed to pull us out of position, but 46 passing yards. Regardless, I don't think this happens with someone like LaVonte David at LB.

  12. Good point. Part of the problem is still recruiting...we're getting good players, but not the super studs who dominate the field.
  13. I learned that Wisconsin is likely to whip our ass on a cold snowy home field in a game on ABC............that's about it. It'll sure be funny if Wisconsin gets beat next week by some also-ran.
  14. Yeah, as pathetic as the offense was after the first quarter, there's no way they could've won with our record-setting defense. I don't think anyone saw a total defensive meltdown coming against a team that only passed for 46 total yards.
  15. I'm just a fan....I don't make these kinds of decisions. I'll still be rooting for the whole team against Minnesota, Iowa and whoever we play in the bowl game. Then if the administration hires a different staff, I won't sit on a message board and try to get some kind of weird satisfaction from badmouthing the new guys after the honeymoon is over....definitely won't pout after every loss.
  16. thats also the players fault right? TA can't make a completion to save his life. Becks fault. Ameer isn't blocking well. Beck's fault Ameer fumbles. Beck's fault. Newby fumbles. Beck's fault. Players miss tackles. Bo's fault. What f'ing universe is this? The players are playing horribly today. Coaching changes won't make the players better. I think we can say they're all pitching in today....coaches and players. I think the defense is tired and the coaches must be too.
  17. I don't blame Tommy at all. It's a piss poor game plan and he's just doing what they ask him to do.
  18. Looks like they've broken the code on the zone-read and the audible to the opposite side. Nice early punt though.
  19. Seems like we're running long patterns and complaining about being held......don't ask me why we would do that.....but that seems to be the plan. 3rd and short we throw a long low% pass.
  20. I'm gonna watch that gif instead of the game.
  21. yeah but its Beck's fault Having TA roll out against his body to make a throw is completely on Beck. It's just a silly and low percentage pass with someone like Tommy. And trying to get the ball to Reilly of all people, on top of it . . . Yeah...who is he? Never even heard of him.
