  1. There is some of that. But, that doesn't explain the entire issue. Right now, we are paying around 2-3 times for the exact same procedures, drugs, hospital stays...etc. as other developed countries who have single payer plans. AND...on top of that, our healthcare system is less effective. THAT is unacceptable. U.S. health spending twice other countries' with worse results I'm also not thinking what you said is the main factor in our higher healthcare costs due to this quote from this article. Health Care Spending in the United States and Other High-Income Countries
  2. I wouldn't say that. It's a matter of degree of radicalness.
  3. He is probably the best commentator I have heard in years.
  4. I"m rooting for him to be the one that makes a winner in Cincy. But, it still boggles my mind that a guy can go from QB coach to HC.....without ever being a coordinator.
  5. Confused. You're not for someone begging for money for life sustaining medication.....and that's why you are not for a single payer plan. Meanwhile, the current system is where people are begging for money for medications and being charged 600% more than people who are currently on a governmental single payer plan. I hope you can see why I'm confused and can clarify where you're coming from on this.
  6. Meh....not seeing it. There was a discussion about not getting them and what we would be looking at next for prospects etc. That's all normal discussion around a prospect. Anyone who freaks out after this signing day, no matter who we get or don't get, really hasn't paid that much attention to our class.
  7. I agree. I can see a little bit of difference. For instance, if I'm coming in and paying cash for a procedure, I would understand me getting a price break because the entire billing process wouldn't need to go through 10 different people at insurance companies, billing agents....etc. BUT...when I'm getting billed 600% (or even 234%) more than someone on Medicare......You have got to friggen be kidding me....
  8. Well, I went back and reread both player's threads from the point they committed till the end. I'm failing to see any "freakout".
  9. Where did you see that? I must have missed this "freak out".
  10. You're right. This is a major issue. And....if I were too come out of school with that debt, I would expect to be able to charge that much too. Problem is, the doctor's income is the easy target. We see them living in mansions on the hill with all the perks. But, there is way more waste to cut than wages and salaries for people who are actually providing care. There is way too much waste in the entire system of insurance, hospitals, drug companies and all the middle men in between.
  11. I saw a report on this over the weekend. I'm really interested in seeing more on this but this was really the only article I found in it this morning. Montana Healthcare Experiment When they started this experiment, I think the report said they were paying something like 600% of Medicare rates. Gee....I wonder if this would help Nebraska's budget problems.
  12. Yeah.....maybe that's where we need to be looking.
  13. I'm still trying to process the thought that produces this question. So....just to be clear, you are fine with a medical system where people have to beg for money to pay for life sustaining medication. Their life then is dependent on if people are kind enough to donate to them.
  14. I am a pretty avid reader of the recruiting board and I haven't seen anything that indicates there will be a "meltdown" on this board if he doesn't pick us. Most people here who follow recruiting know we have a pretty decent class and that there is a chance we may only get one this signing period.
  15. Hmmmm....we just went through a huge battle where a lot of people wanted a persons future job opportunity destroyed because of accusations from when he wasn’t much older than this. Now, we are to have the attitude of.......well, that was a long time ago. Im glad most here don’t have that opinion.
  16. Prime example of a rule that needs to be fixed.
  17. I understand. Just pointing out the different perspectives.
  18. Interesting that they are so negative towards USCs class. They are just ahead of us on 247.
  19. You really did t understand the article did you. Yes, the linemen are good. But what the article is pointing out is that the offensive scheme helps them succeed. Which is true.
