  1. The timing is all about right but how do you know this was him?
  2. Why? Cav has recruited pretty well thus far, though not necessarily this cycle.I'm not overly sold to this point. Tough crowd. A line coach is not an impressive recruiter when his earliest recruit is a sophomore.
  3. Wow.....that's sad. Hope he gets things figured out.
  4. It doesn't matter what we've been for 15 years. How have they been better than us over that time? There is nothing that anyone can point to to show they are better than us or going to be better than us this year.
  5. would this not be in violation of the first amendment of the bill of rights? Can they really not allow any type of recording? They aren't even required to do press briefings if they don't want to.Ok that's fine, but if they do the press briefings, they then are subject to being recorded correct? The press would have the right to record no? No...not really. They can say we are only going to allow press in that agree to not record it and it's not going to be necessarily against the law or unconstitutional. If none of the reporters agree to that, then, they just don't hold one. If a reporter does agree to that, then they have agreed to the request. Now.....if a reporter sneaks a recorder in and secretly records it and the releases the tapes.....I don't think the administration would have any recourse. But, that would need to be some pretty big news on the tapes because that reporter wouldn't be allowed back in the next briefing. Ok that's kind of makes sense, and I'm not saying there is any type of recourse that can be taken by the press, but it seems wrong to me you could allow some in but not others because they wanted to record. That said I understand your post. The white house really holds the right to do whatever they want to a degree in this matter. They do this all the time. They are the ones who give WH press credentials to some reporters and not others.
  6. My experience with Wisconsin fans is different than that. They definitely know we are a major program they need to beat (even though they have done it decisively since we joined). Even before we joined the BiG, us being the real Big Red bugged the hell out of them. in fact, I believe one of the main reasons why they jumped to such a big lead in beat downs of us early in our conference residence is because they took us very serious as a major program they wanted to make a major statement against. We didn't do the same and looked down on them. I have no clue if they would verbally claim we are their rival, but, it's clear when you talk to them that our game is a big game on their schedule. I just wish our program took them as serious when we first joined.
  7. Temp should be in the 70s during this, which would be awesome. Chance of rain though.

  9. they are being horrible and the husker fans that would do it roles reversed are horrible too. It wasn't that bad, people are just way too sensitive over extremely petty ish. I agree.

  11. His father came out after his release and gave credit to Trump for getting him released. This sure seems like a signal sent to the US by NK. They send a kid back to the US that is close to certain death? That doesn't seem like a victory for Trump to me. What will Trump's response be?
  12. The vast majority of Americans will be upset they did it. There will be roughly around 30% of people who fully 100% believe this was a masterfully planned move to Make America Great again and they had to do it because the evil press and liberals would have painted them into an unfair corner. Those evil press and liberals are out to do nothing but destroy their efforts to MAGA because secretly they hate America and everything that is good in the world. These same people will admit this was a drastic move but.....THEY are much smarter and much more of a patriot for this country....so, this is the appropriate method to accomplish what needs done.
  13. c) The Republicans think their bill is going to be unpopular. (We'll know for sure if they attempt to ram it through quickly, especially if they don't wait for the CBO score it.) Oh...it's obvious that's why they are doing it in secret. I would absolutely love for them to come out and unveil a grand program that drastically decreases the cost of providing healthcare and allows access to everyone and they only did it in secret so they didn't get outside influences by people or organizations that wouldn't want that. But.....my confidence is shot.
  14. Soooo....his father is sick so he wants to star closer to home.......but........he's becoming more interested in UCLA. Makes sense.
  15. I find it interesting that all these organizations, groups and people are coming out condemning the Republican Senate plan. Has anyone seen it? I don't think I have seen one article that clearly spells out what the heck they are putting in it. In fact, all the articles I see have a headline claiming the Republicans are writing it in secret. I find this interesting because it shows two things. a) Party politics = some people are going to oppose whatever they put out there no matter what. (Sound familiar from the other direction)? b) One hell of a lot of people have very very very low confidence the Republicans can put a decent plan together. (probably where I'm at now).
  16. In what realm of reality do people pull information that would convince them that Minnesota is a better football program than Nebraska right now. Since joining the Big Ten, We are 4-2 against them. We have won the last two. Nebraska recruiting rankings last 4 years: 23 24 30 36 Minnesota recruiting rankings last 4 years: 58 46 63 57 For the 2018 class, our average player rating is closer to OSU (highest in the country) than to Minnesota's. Nebraska's record last 4 years: 9-4 6-7 9-4 9-4 Minnesota's record last 4 years: 9-4 6-7 8-5 8-5 We replaced our DC. They replaced their entire staff. People talk about kids now days weren't alive the last time Nebraska won anything of significance. Well, how old were they the last time Minnesota did? Minnesota average attendance last 4 years = 47,960. People claiming that all of a sudden they are a better program than Nebraska now or that they know they will be better than Nebraska this year are doing nothing but pulling crap out of their asses and throwing it against the wall.
  17. Well, that should be easy for a football recruiting journalist to find out.
  18. This is a really odd recruitment. I just noticed that 247 still claims he is a commit. I'm assuming he will stay that way until he publicly says something to the contrary. Do we know what happened here? Did our staff cool on him? Did he cool on us? What was the basis for Benning's statement?
  19. To me, it's about should they do the interview. I think there are very good arguments for and against it, and I seem to lean one way or the other depending on my current mood. I hope you are talking about Kelly when you are talking about "journalism" and not Jones.
  20. Are you saying Nebraska hasn't spent money to improve their program? Look at the assistants we have brought in and what we are paying them compared to before.
  21. Well.... http://preseason.stassen.com/consensus/2017.html Yank. Neither NW or Minny will beat us this year or finish ahead of us. Take that to the bank. I don't think they will either, (or you're looking at a house cleaning), but it seems that nobody expects anything from NU this year. Which is fine with me at this point. I don't understand it...but...OK. I really don't get it either. When Riley was hired all we heard was how amazing he was at Oregon State, how he did so much more with so much less. Now, that he has so much more as far as talent, staff, support and facilities...those same "writers" seem to be turning on him or have forgotten was they said in the past or clearly did not mean what they said. He is actually getting less respect now than he did while going 5-7 at OSU. We won 9 games last year with a QB that was a horrible fit for the type of offense this staff wants to run and knows how to run well along with a bad DC. Now, we have a multiple QBs in the system that are custom fit for this offense and they have been in the system for over a year......along with what everyone agrees is going to be an upgrade at DC .......and we are going to do worse????? Exactly, I don't get it. I am starting to think that the Riley love from the past was a bunch of BS. "Heck, he is a great guy and sometimes he upsets a really good team...we might as well say he is awesome and just needs to be at a school with tons of resources" But it seems clear they didn't mean it I don't really care if they "meant it" or not. It's clear that a couple years ago he was the new kid on the block so they didn't know what to write. Now, he's been here for two years and it's like we have been forgotten. They are too lazy to actually do some digging on what is actually going on in the system so it's easy to just say some random team like Northwestern is going to be better than us. It's typical off season crap reporting. That's why I said I really don't care right now that they put us there.
  22. I'm assuming you are saying any QB....currently within the system.

  24. To me, the bigger name rival is Wisconsin. There is a lot of natural reasons why they are a decent rival for us. We have historically had more success, but, they have had more success recently. They have won the conference AND have kept us from winning it. Their program was built by an ex-Husker who built it using our model. To me, I get way more pumped up for that game than Iowa. However, just because Wisconsin is a bigger rival (in my eyes) doesn't take away from the fact that Iowa is also a rival. A program can have multiple rivals of varying degrees.
