      If the refs were handling them on every single play how could they possibly not notice? I'm beginning to doubt their was a problem.

      That's surprising too, but I guess it's possible. But, if they called attention to this at halftime -- resulting in the ball delay to start the 2nd half -- then by that time the balls ought to have been brought back up to standard.
