  1. Hard for the offense to put points up on the board when your drives start inside the 20. The pass was bad, Martinez probably was hungry for a big play since we hardly had the ball all game. Still one interception is not what lost the game.
  2. Exactly. The game, to my recollection, was tied at 27. Our offense came out in the I-formation and ran the short toss like 7 times in a row and moved the ball down to about the Bruin 20 and all of a sudden we move to the shotgun and the drive falls apart. Then to compound the problem Beck never went back to the I. What in the f*** was that about? And the missed tackles are simply mind numbingly stupid. Bo obviously doesn't teach fundamental tackling. A fundamentally sound tackle consists of basically the following 8 parts: 1. Sprint to the ball. 2. Break down. 3. Get your head across the ball carrier's body. 4. Sink your hips. 5. Then shoot your hips. 6. Wrap your arms around his body. 7. Explode through the ball carrier. 8. Planting him into the turf. I can't remember one fundamentally sound tackle. That was what was so embarrassing. Exactly. The game, to my recollection, was tied at 27. 3. So what do you think? After a game where we give up the second most yards in history you think/hope any new players will crack the roster? Personally I think if Seisay is healthy he'll get some PT along with *fingers crossed* Courtney Osbourne. Back when he took over for PJ Smith a couple years back he seemed like a more solid tackler and tackled with aggression. So...offense defense or no changes? Off topic I just watched some Suh highlights. Seems like our DTs try to play like he did although they dont have the footwork, drive, knowledge, and especially the strength he had. They need to do something different down there. More slants twists and somebody needs to learn how to do a swim or spin move in the middle. We cant guard the WRs forever.
  4. I think we're already down and have been down this road. Seems like with Solich and Pelini we have the 'always a brides maid never a bride' mentality. Never great never bad but just good enough. One problem I believe is the inexperienced assistant coaches. Something will give sooner or later. These years of 9 or so wins will either make or break us. If we would be able to get some good signature wins in our next couple seasons against non-conference teams then things will change....otherwise you might see some coaches getting the boot. *Crossed fingers on a lineman coach*
  5. We dont deserve to be ranked, but i think Wisconsin losing and Arkansas losing and some other ranked teams with shaky showings will make the fact that we lost by 6 to a new era Pac12 team will be overlooked by the voters.
  6. It wasnt the fact that we were getting good recruits. The point back then was getting the most out of our recruits, making sure the players were ready and sticking to our game plan.
  7. Also anybody else notice a couple of plays in a row where we bring the normal four d linemen and EM breaks around the edge and their QB stepped up or scrambled for a good chunk of yrds. Where were the DTs on that play? Can they not see beyond the O-line? Plus the line as far as I remember didnt knock down any passes when alot of passes were simple fast slant routes right down the middle. Our DTs are easily the weakest part of our defense.
  8. We need to work on fundamentals. Too many missed tackles and our d-line/linebackers cant get off blocks. Inconsistent play calls on off/def. If a team comes out in spread they can run the ball all over us. We can't catch the ball as good as we thought we could. The D tackles get no push into the backfield and play straight up on the line and way too high. Our offense stutters when we get blitzed. Our defense is too slow and thinks to much at the point of attack to be able to put together an effective blitz. Special teams is way to up and down to be relied upon. I miss Burkhead:(
  9. Well...be got beat in probably every level and UCLA players played with more enthusiasm and heart than the Huskers. But yeah I still call bias on the way they announced the beginning of the game.
  10. Its like a competition on who can have worse special teams...
  11. Why cant our d-line throw some moves on UCLA like theirs is to us
  12. Id like to point out with the amount of blitzing UCLA is doing our O Line seems to have shown improvement over last year
  13. So does Fox have some kind of deal with the Pac-12? The announcers kind of seem biased. I know were playing bad and all but still...
  14. 13th TD- I say Wisconsin. I think it depends on how often we throw against teams such as Idaho State. 23 TDs- Yes. With his new mechanics and an athletic WR corp I see us passing more than we did last year. 70%- I said yes but i think it will be somewhere around his 70% mark. I don't know how many dropped passes we had last week but I sure did see alot of great catches on passes that weren't necessarily on the money. So what I'm saying is the WR/TE/RBs will be helping alot. Also saw him check down alot against Southern Miss which will help this percentage. But I expect his % to be around 76 by the time B1G 10 play comes and for it to drop to around 70% by end of season.
