I don't think Pap is totally Bo's puppet like some think he is. I'm sure Bo has the final say and more pull of course but, I'm guessing they work together more than we think. As to why there's such a big gap between Pap and Beck, let's compare to Auburn. The DC Ellis Johnson is going to make a lot more money than the OC Rhett Lashlee. I'm sure Gus Malzahn has an idea of what he wants to do defensively but, he lets Johnson figure out how to do that. It's probably the same story here between Bo and Beck.</div>

If people don't want to go that's their decision. There's a lot of things to factor in, coach, the way the team plays, re-match of last year, just played in the Gator Bowl in '08, this will be the 3rd straight bowl game in Florida, there's broke people like me that don't have the chance to go, and plenty of others. I would hope that those with disposable income would go, or at least give me a nice Christmas present.

I understand Beck get's pass happy sometimes, there's no denying that. However, the "going away from what's working" is a one-sided argument. I've said it several times nobody I ever going to say, "Why is Beck running the ball the passing game was working". There's several times that the offense ran the ball 3 times and then punted.

I think you bring up some great points. All the apathy comments drive me nuts because it's all a matter of choice. Win or lose I choose to be excited and supportive because football season is too short. Does that mean I'm satisfied? Heck no, but I'm still going to have the game on TV Jan. 1st and hate the 8 month offseason afterward.

As others have stated, we did play in a long string of Orange/Sugar bowls a few years back. As for unique circumstances, to quote another thread in another blog sight ............... "Auburn has a 1st year coach and a brand new quarterback.....and they are playing for the NC. How did they do that?" All this consternation disappears by winning, and not losing, football games. Even the occasional loss gets appreciated, i.e., Orange bowl versus Miami 1984. We must get past the "mediocrity" of this program and get back to being relevant and win games. The thing people forget is that Malzahn was the OC at Auburn from 2008-2011. These players were recruited to run his offense and he knew the program very well since he was only away one year. This shouldn't discredit what he has done, it's still incredible, but it's not like he just popped up out of nowhere.

So is there going to be a HuskerBoard Bowl Bash?
