  1. I'd like to see some of our guys work to get the ball to the hoop today, especially Terran. So many times, I feel like this team settles for jump shots when they could drive and get an easy bucket or else open up the passing lanes for shooters on the perimeter. One thing that also drives me crazy that I would like to see stop is relaxing at the top of the key until late in the shot clock. It almost always seems like our offensive set starts with around 15 seconds on the shot clock. With that being said, this is a must-win to get back on track along with the next couple games. Time to get some momentum going moving into the latter part of the schedule.
  2. because hes had 4 god damn weeks to get this sh#t out of his system and go out as a proud HUSKER. Not a damn Boliever. Perfectly depicts all the problems with the program inside and out over the past 7 years. Us vs world. At least under Riley us fans will be back on the US side. I agree that I'm very glad that the Us vs. the world is gonna be over, but you gotta put yourselves in some of these guys' shoes. I might not agree with it and you might not agree with it, but all those guys have been through a tough time these last few weeks and wanted to play hard for the guy that led them. And don't say he didn't go out as a proud Husker because he's always played his hardest for Nebraska. Today, just watch some of the blocking he was doing and the touchdown catch was spectacular.
  3. Why was it too much? The guy loved his coach and Bo will be the only coach that he will have to play for. As much as we hate Bo, I don't think some of you guys realize how much he meant to these kids. They came in as Freshman not really knowing about much, and not only was he their football coach, but also someone who they looked up to. He was a second father for some of these kids.
  4. I noticed this too, the few times we would actually get the ball to the middle someone would just hold it until they got mobbed and turned it over. When the ball gets to the middle there needs to be streakers down the sideline to get open. Normally when teams press, it can lead to easy lay ups and wide open shots but that doesn't seem to be the case with this team.
  5. With the way the team is playing right now, a 2 point win would be good enough for me. Hopefully they can come out with some fire and break it open early though, that's what I want to see tonight.
  6. Those two points don't even com close to accounting for the turnovers, lack of an inside presence and the sketchy D in this game. What I'm getting at is that I really don't think these turnovers come from a lack of talent, because the talent is there. I truly believe there is a lack of focus right now and it's bothering. Our supposed team leader getting a technical foul to pick up a 3rd foul early in the first half is another example. That's just inexcusable. The lack of an inside presence is troubling though, I'll agree to that. Hopefully some of it gets cleared up with the return of Abraham and Smith. As far as defense goes, once again, I think it's a lack of focus. This is basically the same team out there as last year that played some great defense. Some of these guys need to learn how to deal with their ego and get back to Husker basketball, diving on the court for loose balls and outworking every opponent on our schedule.
  7. I hate to say it but this team might be having too much fun right now. I know it sound weird, but the lack of discipline and bonehead mistakes is getting way out of hand. Kye Kurkowski spotting them a couple points for dunking the ball in warmups (which everyone knows you can't do from the time you start playing basketball) just further proves that point. Those points could have easily made a difference in this game. It's becoming more and more frustrating to watch. There's no doubt that the potential is there, but right now they just aren't showing it
  8. Huskers are headed to overtime...dodged a bullet with all of the putbacks Rhode Island missed there at the end
  9. Petteway is not having a very good night. The offense has really lacked any sort of explosiveness with him not playing at his normal level. Thank god they can't make their free throws or we could be in big trouble
  10. Need to get going here quickly. It's really starting to scare me with Rhode Island hanging around
  11. This thread makes me laugh. I can't believe some of the things I read on here. I don't like getting publicly embarrassed in every big game just as much as most of you, but the Senior class doesn't deserve for there to be a bunch of open seats on their day. Ameer and company has put way too much work in for that. There are many other ways to get your point across. After reading this thread, I'm not sure most of you are going to change your minds, but to me the whole thought of "boycotting the game" is bullsh#t.
  12. Instead of picking out all the things the kid does wrong out on the court, how about we acknowledge that he's just a freshman who has played one year of basketball at this pace. I personally think he has a lot of upside and can't wait to see what he can bring to the table after having a whole offseason working on his game. One of the reasons I don't come here to post very often is because of the constant negativity that people always bring to threads.
  13. Headed out to Indy tomorrow to catch the Big Ten Tournament. Hope the Huskers can make a good run, but if not I'm excited to catch some basketball from the best conference in the land
  14. Is it weird that I already have those pregame jitters and we're still over a day away from this game?
  15. I understand you not liking Iowa and some of the things that have happened lately, however, don't let the actions of a couple people (Fran going crazy all the time, and McCabe last night) shape your opinion of the whole team. One of my best friends, Mike Gesell, is the point guard on that team and the kid has more character and class then anyone I have ever met
  16. I don't normally like to complain about officiating, but come on....fouls that are being called on one side of the court not being called on the other
  17. I don't think I've ever seen a worse shooting slump then Ray Gallegos
  18. Nervous as could be for this game but hope they can come away with the win. It's definitely not going to be easy and I'd like to see Ray get it going tonight and get out of his slump
  19. Let's get it tonight Huskers! This is the game that scares me the most on our remaining schedule. NW at home the crowd can bring the energy, Indiana on the road is an easy game to get excited for, and Wisconsin at home is going to be a huge game. Here's to hoping we can take care of business tonight and escape with a road win in the toughest conference in America
  20. Great outing for DeLeon this afternoon. Good to see after his last start. Chesnut in for relief now
