Wondering if a move to a 3-4 and a great opportunity to start day 1 improves our chances here

No we would've taken Calvin. Looking for two or three more WR's in this class. Agreed we would take him but HE might not want to be the 4th best -

Yeah I mean why be the fourth receiver in a class when you could be the seventh? Yeah I mean why be the fourth receiver in a class when you could be the seventh? He çould be the best of the 7. At DONU he was the 4th -

Wonder if this means we got Lewis. Didn't want to be the 4th receiver? -
Watched his Sr film. Found myself saying "ohhh!" Over and over! This guy moves side to side like Ameer. Very quick and very fast. Can't believe he is listed as a 2* on 247! We just got a steal

Agreed with this. Besides, most pundits have seen the cracks in OSU's armor for most of the year. If I remember right, they are very young too. This is a blip, nothing more.

This is the guy we really need to pull for. I think Lewis is less than 50/50. We need this guy and we have a real shot. -
Many in theis board have talked about the need to recruit better. I think this staff is doing that. Key jr., Gebbia, McQuitty and others all point to that. What isn't being talked about is that the coaches need to be able to actually teach/coach up these players. Once that begins to take root, the players will begin to do a lot of that themselves with the younger ones. For me the jury is still out-can they really coach these players (especially on both lines) up.

This 9-4 feels the same as the Pelini yrs...decent number on paper but blown out by good teams.

After 3+ quarters of handing the ball off no one on the planet expected that to be a zone-read play. Defender didn't even look for the option. Good play call Finally. Agreed -

Gates leans too far forward in his stance on pass plays. 9 has been successful on his speed rush all day -

Against a depleted UT team..... screw injuries. Every team has them. Others just recruit/develop depth... Which he is trying to do because the last guy did a pathetic job at it. Quit blaming Bo. This is Rileys show. Year 2.....Harbaugh, Fuentes, Frost, Richt all say hello..... +1 Not a Bo fan but I agree. Riley owns this one. Most disappointing besides tackling is the lack of adjustments on D. I thought we did a great job adjusting most of the year but this is horrible. -

Probably true. Those mid classes Bo got have turned out to be very Minnesota like and we haven't seen much excellence from the younger guys yet. Pretty tired of waiting it's next year for me young OL new QB yeah fine blah blah next year the team needs to be better IMO. but the lines get better next year right?!?!? More leadership, strongest we've been. best off season workouts since I've been here. Just a different team....blah, blah, blah.... Missing your best two offensive players and your best defensive player. We never had a chance with our lack of depth. -
Apparently Bray is safe. I didn't even see him on the list

Ritchie Ingcognito says hello! I guarantee those guys especially in the 1990's were talking all kinds of sh!t.. So I wouldn't classify it as "not Husker football." Like it or not, this kind of talk is very common for every team, especially the ones that know they are better than everyone else. Anddo I guarantee you that Dr Tom would jot put up with it if it came to his attentionew. So,no, it is not husker football As for Icognito, he was suspended at least twice and left the team in disgrace. Thanks for making my point.

Riley has been uncommonly open with his criticism of the special teams performance this year. That leads me to believe he is considering making a change with Fo Fiddy. Neither Banker or Langs will go this year.

I just read this from first post to last. One thing I did notsee is that we just got our butts kicked along both lines. Phillip (SP) supposedly did such a good job in the S&C area. We were better in the cardio area since we seemed to keep our energy through the 4th quarter. However, Iowa, OSU and Wisky all pushed us around on the lines. This is where you win or lose. Whether it is S&C, coaching or recruiting, we need more animals across the lines. As for coaching, I think we swung the pendulum too far from Bo's contentious and adversarial approach to MR's aww shucks approach. Gotta say I prefer MR's style but his assts. need to be his balance by demanding some fire from their players. Getting pushed around is just not acceptable. Iowa had a smart strategy, albeit an obvious one: make Tommy pass. He just isn't accurate enough to beat a team who is fundamentally sound, and it showed in his long passes. Those had nothing to do with his hammy. He would have missed them even if 100% healthy. Recruiting wise, I agree that this appears to be on the uptick. We still need to land a whale, but the big fish are at least interested. We didn't see much of that under Bo's staff. you can pick out a few that you will try to refute this part with, but overall it feels different in the recruiting phase with this staff. Lastly, can we just exercise some sort of control and not get personal on these boards? You guys are attacking each other more than the team! This is a HUSKER board, not a POSTER board. Cut the sh#t!
