Zoogs, I agree with your premise as it pertains to the history of program success. However, you have to consider the increase of funding, resources, and personnel that has been put into the basketball program. With that, I do not think status quo is appropriate nor is it the vision of the AD.

A lot of programs do that, though. I see it sort of like all the lower-tier FBS schools that have great (or at least new and expensive) facilities now and think they're tough ****. Or the Chinese soccer leagues (and let's face it, MLS) that throw huge money at big names at the twilight of their careers. It might help nudge things along, but none of these things change the game.
