I always thought the skyscrapers were typically tackles? So unless I am wrong, which is possible, I would think he could play guard. I would like to see him play center so our other OL recruits can play guard however.
This is one of those commits that isn't a big time recruit right now but his athletic ability gives him a high ceiling and at the least the ability to contribute on special teams (imagine that speed as a gunner). With a class as big as this one is likely to be, I really like taking ability like this.
Somewhat against the grain, I would prefer Wilson over POB. Really hope we hang onto him (and POB too obviously). That being said, what the hell do I know.
Throwing together a group of talented linebackers and safeties! Being from Colorado, I have heard a lot about this kid. He is a big get. Great athlete.
Just curious with all of the recent players leaving the team, how many players do you think we will take in this class? Do you think it is increasing or that we stay around 20?
I liked what I saw on film. Looks faster than a 4.71 for sure. Love that stuff arm. 2* typically means they haven't really rated them yet so I wouldn't read into that much. Love talent out of Texas, great football.
I would not recommend trying to argue that the previous staffs were good developers of QBs. We haven't had a legitimate arm at Nebraska in years (could be recruiting or coaching). This isn't saying they haven't been capable, but they have not been anywhere near an NFL potential talent IMO.
I am also very excited about these two recruits and feared that this new staff would go completely away from athletic QBs. It will be fun to watch them develop.
McKewon just tweeted that apparently Sykes says he is now torn between NU/Arkansas. Says that he cited internships at "Fortune 500 companies" for Ark interest.
The fact that we haven't seen any excited tweets today from the coaches makes me a little nervous about his decision. I would love to have this guy though. Can't teach that size.
It has to be appealing that that they were able to develop a 3rd string QB into a potential first round draft pick without any prior game experience. That made it glaringly obvious how poor our old staff developed QBs. We also don't want the future leader of our team to be afraid of competition.
OK....I read a lot on the internet and listen to one hell of a lot of sports radio, I haven't heard or read anyone say he was going to be a first round pick.
Same. I have heard that it wouldn't be surprising if a team took a gamble on him in the 4th or 5th but that more than likely he is a 6th or 7th (although you cannot disregard the stock that teams put into media coverage when drafting... Or so it seems.).
care to elaborate?
No.
He retweeted coach Andy Hill's tweet "It was a great day of recruiting in KC for the Mizzou Tigers! Mizzou family is coming together!"
