  1. I hope so. Hard to tell with juco film. Level of athletes at the juco make it hard. Some studs out there and then some scrubs. He shows very good athleticism for an LB and plays well in space. Quick to close on the ball. Film reminded me a bit of Zaire. But who the heck knows if this guy will be a player. I would ignore the 2 star rating though. They don't scout juco guys very well. I would trust a coach evaluation over rivals or scout on juco guys. 2 Star means that he has not been evaluated. Not true. He is a 5.4 rated 2 star which means they see him as a role player in college. A no star means no eval A Two-star prospect is a player that has the ability, but there is not enough known about the prospect to rank them accurately.

  3. And we had one of the best RBs in the country, who carried NE on his back!
  4. The Boleavers were out in force on the radio today. They basically said that Epley was a puppet of the University and he was backing Riley. I love idiots talking smack in public with no basis.
  5. Come on Jr. commit and lead this class to a top 10 class.
  6. Ok....I have three CPAs in my family, with one being my wife, all from different schools. Accounting is one of those programs that once they reach a certain level of instruction, there is not going to be a huge difference. I would love to know what criteria they used for claiming that. Now, if you would have said "management", or "law".....etc. I'd buy the idea that one is so much better. That's a wrong assumption, unless you want to be a clerk or work for government all your life. If you want more, where you go to school makes a difference. What???? Brother....university of Nebraska....CPA.....position at one of the big firms out of school worked his way up through auditing till he moved to a large local firm and was almost partner till he quit and started his own business going very well. Brother in law....CPA...masters in tax accounting from CSU.....started in tax accounting then was pretty high up in internal auditing of an international company. Now he is CFO of a pretty large manufacturing company. Wife.....CPA.....from UNK...started in tax accounting but worked up quickly to assistant controller then CFO of large home builder in Des Moines. Now CFO of one of the largest construction companies in Nebraska. FAR from just clerk or government jobs. You just said to any school as an accountant and succeed. There is much more to it, but I am not going to argue with you on a football forum.

  8. What level do you coach at.... Probably the same as you. Seeing as this is a message board, 95 percent of the posters are not involved in coaching and are just fans who want to see this team do well. If I was bashing a coach who had success this year or in general, I could see your comment having some merit. But since you are probably some division one coach, lets hear your actual insight. And next time use a question mark, those periods make you look like a junior high girl texting her bff.Nope just a fan. You are bashing a coach that had success. Typically when you see a good run defense you think line and when you see a good pass defense you think DB's - now we know it takes both, however I would say that our run defense was pretty good this year compared to the guy that new how to defend against the run last year. It's not perfect however headed in the correct direction.Headed in the right direction? After one year which had its ups and downs, it is tough to determine the direction of the defense and the d-line. How many sacks did the defensive line have? How much pressure did they get on the QB? Did defenses pass more than they ran against us due to our deficiencies in that area? It is too early to know, and people can easily use the "these are pelini's recruits" argument, but I am more concerned with recruiting, not on-field production. It's tough to stop the run when you don't have any big bodies. It's about the Jimmies and the Joes. You can have the best system in place but if you don't have the players what are you supposed to do? The DE and OT position groups are laughable how is that Rileys fault? It's all about how you look at things. Pelini's pass defense was much better with similar players. It comes down to perspective and we all have our opinions to go either way with it. Bo used the safeties in pass def. & Banker uses them in run defense. Thus, this we are better in rush defense and worse in pass defense. That's the popular version of the story but it's not true. That is how we started the year. Banker switched it up starting with the Michigan St.

  10. Jacobson was picked up due potential. Staff is hoping he would grow to be 6'10" or taller. He seems to play the post better than Morrow, who seems a little overwhelmed. I think Morrow would be better playing behind Shields.
  11. Nice win, but Watson needs to start and Benny needs to bring the energy off the bench!
  12. Ha! Come on man...McDonkey owns Timmy Miles (away from being a good coach)...it is not the refs. I agree, but the officiating was not good! We lost the game because of the lack of scoring from our starters: Benny, Ty & Shavon! Creighton is not even close to Miami or Cincinnati, this was our worse shooting game and we were wide open. I think you might want to get used to that shooting... I think the worst game of the year will be NU at the Illini...the final score might be like a 4th grade girls game...10-4 HaHa!

  14. I think we found our starting PF in Jacobsen. Now, we need to start Watson at PG.
  15. Every time Shields does not get the calls his way, he stops hustling and playing defense. Plus, every time we play in Omaha the officiating stinks. These guys have no idea what a moving pick or traveling is.
  16. Benny Parker needs to come off the bench. He is the reason for our slow starts. There 6" passes do not work and he can not score!
  17. Until we start winning, we need to look for these possible diamonds. We've been recruiting these 'diamonds' for awhile now. It's why our roster led to a 5-7 record, why we send a small number of players to the NFL and why Nebraska is shell of a program it once was. This dumpster fire started with Solich and so far only Bo has found these diamonds. The problem is he could not teach and make them better. Riley has tried to get the top players here, but most of these kids were not even born when Nebraska was consistently good. I believe that Riley is a good evaluator of talent. Only time will tell. If Pelini found "diamonds in the rough" but couldn't teach and make them better, then you wouldn't know if they were in fact "diamonds in the rough". DPE & Carter, plus there were some that committed to us and went elsewhere to SEC schools. Bo got one year with DPE and he was a stud. Carter started as a freshman as well. Some of Bo's "diamonds in the rough" killed us depth wise. Irons, Tolbert, Mixon, Shuttles, Walton, that DE that didn't even get to Lincoln, Boaz Joesph....just to name a few... I agree, but some of these guys did not make it because of discipline issues, not performance on the field .
  18. Watson out plays Benny every game, but Benny gets more minutes. I do not care who starts, but do not understand not playing the pg who is playing better. Its not defense as the help defense took a lot of fouls because Benny can not stay with his guy.
