  1. I have watched Menke in HS and now as husker. He can shoot, but his defense and ball handling is very poor. Nebraska is not that great program that lower D1 talent comes to, so they can get a chance to play power5 basketball. Day is the only one and he is here because his dad played for the Huskers
  2. We had coaches that were bias and kids that were not getting any better. I think we will see some surprise starters this year. Nothing like a fresh start for players & fans!
  3. Then they leave right away. I like the ties to Husker football and he has coaching experience. Hire Kenny!
  4. Good Luck Warren and Thanks for holding our class together!
  5. This could be more about family and a chance to move up in the coaching ranks. Being the hold over, he was most likely on the bottom.
  6. Basketball is not like football, we had 1 walk-on that might be able to play & he had an ACl. Like it or not, the best 7 or 8 we have are playing. I coached high school basketball for 6 years. I'm telling you that benching people sometimes wakes them up. I agree a few players should ride the pine, but our walk-on are not the answer!
  7. Farmer was also a state wresting champ, so he probably has good balance & strength.

  9. Nebraska fans want to see a good product on the court. But this team isn't doing that. You have 2 guys starting that average over 30 per game combined and yet we struggle to get to 50. This is a problem. I'm just saying that we are asking too much this early. Jucos & Sr transfers were band aides, because our roster was thin I get tired of the Petteway bashing.
  10. Pretty sure no one is saying this. We are barely .500 and are one of the worst offensive teams in the country. I think you are over-selling the complaints. Maybe a little!
  11. Really, the rest of the starters are 2 of 12. Do you think there is pressure to preform? Please this has to do with the lack of players not the 2 that score.
  12. It is funny that ESPN & Big 10 analysis are high on Nebraska & Miles and the direction of program, but NE fans still think we need to win every game this year. Remember that Smith, Parker, Rivers & Shields are not Miles recruits and the only reason Doc got Shields is due to legacy. Without Petteway & Pitchford, we are lucky to win 8 total game with Doc. Please do not compare the offenses, as the Big 12 does not play defense.
  13. Leslee lack of mobility has been an issue this year on defense, this is why he is not playing. He is just not the same guy since the injurt. I like giving Webster the other starting position, as he earned it.
  14. Couldnt he have used a word that wasnt "Execution" How many times do we see Petteway or someone else yelling for a guy to get in to the right place... Seems to me like some of the guys dont know what they are supposed to do and seem lost. Teams are stopping Shields and Petteway... so Miles needs to either get the ball in to our bigs who could score or needs to get Pitchford, Tarin Smith, Webster or Fuller to score. Webster has taken advantage of some looks but still is shying away. In the same sentence, Miles said that they were going through the motion and not playing fast. Hate when half the quote is tweeted!
  15. Point guard and two forwards this year. 3 forwards, the kid from Austria is supposed to be a shooter. Jack McVeigh

  17. Agree, but when he was on the field he just looked a lot slower than everyone else.
  18. We have no idea what we have at TE, because we did not use them very much. We have 4 scholarship TEs. We have 6 walk-on TE on the roster, not counting what comes new walk-ons. Surely we can find a walk on or 2 that can produce.
  19. I can see a QB leaving in the spring, but that is it. I like the idea of 1 year schollies to walk-ons as long as they know it may not be available the following year. I understand giving a walk-on a full ride, but there are some on the list that has not played very much.
  20. All depends on whether you like Journal Star or the World Herald! I think Chatelain is a complete idiot that lives on negative reporting and Sipple needs to grow some bxxx. My questions is how many played any competitive sports in college or High School. Did they play or read how the game is played. How can you respect what one writes if they did not experience.
  21. That definitely made a difference but there was also just a lot more talent then as well. For whatever reason, it's a lot more spread out now. Not sure if it's other sports or just not as interested or what but there aren't many (any?) Scott Frosts or Ahman Greens showing up recently let alone any Terry Conneallys or Adam Trues. The big difference is schollies. Osborn had more schollies and he could afford to take more local kids and teach. Current, we are losing kids to Kansas St., Iowa St & South Dakota, Wyoming, ect. There is some talent here, but since we do not play football year round it does not get defined. Practice makes perfect. We need a coach that can evaluate talent and now whether they can be formed to play competitive D1 ball. Only time will tell!
  22. I like what we have coming back next year & our recruiting class coming in, but we are missing the one big to be really competitive. I hope Petteway come back, because I think he can play PG for us with Shields & White play the other guard positions. I am also hoping Pitchford will learn to play big first, outside shooter second.
  23. Football or Basketball, you can not coach IQ to some players. Like anything else in life, some people do not have it up stairs. As fair as penalties, it could be coaching or intelligence. But it is the coaches job to put the right players on the court/field.
