  1. Yea, I think Brown's baggage was a big factor. Very well could have been a mandate from on high that Brown wasn't retained. This. I'm wondering if Eichorst had a little input here. Or Perlman. There was more than football to look at here.
  2. Same knock that Abdullah is getting from NFL scouts. Maybe some of this has to do with coaching. Most of Abdullah's fumbles were bc of him trying to get extra yards and not bc of bad ball security. He would sell out every play, but it just seemed at times after first contact and him giving that extra effort he would lose the ball. Agree. I was just saying that this has been a problem with our RBs over the last several years, which might be why Brown was not considered for this position with current staff.
  3. Same knock that Abdullah is getting from NFL scouts. Maybe some of this has to do with coaching.
  4. A lot has to do with the supporting cast. Defenses are forcing Pettewey & Shields out of their comfort zones. Plus, they know that they have to score for the Huskers to win. We have 2 too many bench players starting.
  5. I agree if this kid was from out of state, but Bo screwed up the relationships with the HS coaches that Riley needs to work harder keeping the kids that deserve schollies from NE.
  6. I can not figure out why other conferences do not complain to the NCAA about this. This appears to be a major advantage for the SEC.
  7. Exactly On the other hand, Omaha has always been a different breed as there is no love loss between Husker & Bluejays. I will probably upset someone, but for the most part they probably are not the die hard Husker fans as in the rest of the state.
  8. But it does make it tougher when it is a local kid, as we expect them to live & die as a Huskers.
  9. Running your half-court sets through your best player is nothing new to basketball. The offense does become stagnant at times, and when the shot clock is running down Petteway is the guy who should have the ball. I agree that Parker should be coming off the bench, but I don't know who you would start over Rivers? He's a guy that does the dirty work, and deserves his starting spot when you consider what's behind him. This team is a year away. I assume Petteway will be back, and there is some talent on it's way in. Next year should be much, much better. I also think there is a good chance Petteway comes back. He has a ways to climb to get drafted.
  10. So who do you suggest play in place of Parker and Rivers? Hammonds not ready. Fuller's not ready. You think if there wasnt a better option they wouldnt be on the floor already? But the rest, your assessment about last year, is spot on. We did get spoiled by lightening in a bottle for a month. Pitch, Petteway, and Shields got hot, noone took us seriously, and we won a bunch of games. It's a little different now. We're a 16-17 win team with a probably NIT bid. PG - T. Smith & C - Abraham
  11. We are an average team and got spoiled last year because we got hot at the end of the season. I am tired of Petteway playing the point and Benny standing in the corner. We can not win with Parker & Rivers starting. These guys should be coming off the bench and playing no more than 15 minutes. Miles has proved that he can recruit good players and it just a matter of time before we can compete with the big dogs.
  12. His kids go to the same school as mine. FYI - Carl is much more personable than Bo.
  13. That's OK. We'll take the guys who want to be serious. Agree!
  14. Even the commenters were saying that our biggest issue is PG. No QB, no offense!
  15. TP is a hell of a player, but he doesnt allow us to run a true offense. HE is still a great player, but he does just do whatever he wants. When Rivers & Benny never looks for a shot, we are forced to take last second shots. I would like to know what percentage of his shots are in the last 5 seconds of the shot clock. I would guess 25-30%. When Smith was in the game, we looked more fluid.
  16. Pitchford is out of position, we need to start Abraham, Pitchford, Shields, Pettewey & Smith. Pitchford plays his best in the 4.
  17. If we are going to have any chance this year, we need to start Abraham & Smith.
  18. You still have to rebound and Benny needs to step up as he is not even getting guarded on the perimeter
  19. Me neither, seen him at the rec playin basketball and he's not built for it. He'd have to hit the weights big time if that were to be a possibility... real lean but very athletic. perfect for safety He is listed at 6'3" 200. That is plenty of frame to add 15 to 25 pounds to. local kid & he has probably gained 10+ during his RS year!
  20. I think Mavric keeps a great list, but I've heard 20 total. So, five more. Was 18, then Love & Hart transferred out.
