  1. I have nothing against Deng, but we need immediate help next year. Jucos are like HS players, as they play on a lower level. On most accounts, they need a year to get use to speed. These are not 5 star players. Ayebga is already playing in the big league, Deng is a good athlete playing class D competition. And there is a question whether he will be ready to play due to his ankle. We need 2 bigs. I think Deng is worth it, if he has 3 years to play 2.
  2. We ran out of gas this last year. Our bench was too thin & small. We need immediate help at C & PF and Hammond as a freshman is not the answer. As with HS & JUCO players, you see that it takes a year to play D1. This guy is already there, as he played behind some good talent. He is not a scorer, but he is a defensive player who blocks shots. Just because to does not have great stats does not mean he is not a good player. This guy has 4 years of experience with a good team, nice size and a long wing span. He is exactly what this team needs: post defensive and an aggressive rebounder. This addition will also allow Pitchford to play PF, not center.
  3. That's interesting. The question that comes to my mind then is....if he wasn't good enough to see the court at UConn, is he good enough to be of great value here? At least the stats that I am seeing shows that it's not a situation where he played but not very much. It looks like he NEVER saw the court after the 2010-2011 season. That's two full seasons not seeing the court at all. He did not play for UConn! UConn & Iowa St picked up one & done players that made their team stonger. He tore an ACL his SO year.
  4. Here is what I found. New to US basketball and had problems with fouling. According to the Georgetown website, Moses established himself as a reliable bench option due to his hard nosed defense and energy around the rim. Miles is looking for a quick fix and to add depth down below. He is a one & done. I like this kid as he has a long wing span and he would be back with the coach that recruited him to Georgetown. It also allows us to ease Hammond into the lineup. The one & done players are starting to be more prevalent, as I heard that Iowa St. & UConn both had such a player this year.
  5. I think that Miles wants atheletic/lengthy guys. I dont think Smith fits 100% what he wants, more long armed Akoy type players... Rim protectors. Hammond will be a good candidate to red shirt and then they will run with Moses/Smith/pitchford rotation for the 5 and pitch will play 4 as well if they get moses. i think with the 2 remaining spots you will see them push hard for the PG from Brewster academy. But if we dont get him, i think they are looking for size and length-- maybe a Deng Deng style guy. I agree. He also likes guards that can handle to ball & score, so another scoring point guard would be good.
  6. It was odd that he wanted to win and committed to NC.
  7. After next year, we get thin at the c/f positions. We lose Ayegba(if signs), Rivers & Smith. Leaving us with Hammond, Pitchford & Pinder. And Hopefully, Morrow. Other than Pitchford, we will be young. Hopefully, can find a transfer or JC player who give us a little experience.
  8. Yup. I think we can lock that spot down for Moses. 2 more spots. Hope you are right. This gives us a chance to ease Hammond into the center position. One more big man and/or a shooter would be nice.
  9. Nice, Hopefully he will say yes. This will give Hammond a chance to grow without throwing him into the fire.
  10. Mav, THANKS! I'm confused because I can't find anything in his bio on line. Where was he coaching in 2005 when he won the award for Big Ten best assistant award? Minnesota I think he was there for 3 years, which 1 year he was interim head coach.

  12. No announcement from NU, but I am sure it will be coming soon!
  13. Pitching was good a again! You got to figure the runs are going to start coming soon.
  14. How are we the top offensive team in the B1G. We have looked terrible the last 4 games.
  15. We are making this kid look like all star. Look at a strike down the middle and swinging at the bad pitches.
  16. Here is a little info on Molinari: In 2005, Street & Smith’s named Molinari the “best assistant in the Big Ten Conference.” For 11 seasons, from 1991-2002, Molinari was the head coach at Bradley University, where he amassed a 174-152 (.534) record and guided the Braves to the postseason six times - five National Invitation Tournament appearances and the 1996 NCAA Tournament. From 1989-91, he was the head coach at Northern Illinois, where he posted a record of 42-17 (.712). The Huskies won the 1991 Mid-Continent Conference title, going 25-6 and setting a school record for wins. At DePaul from 1979-89, Molinari helped both Ray and Joey Meyer return the Blue Demons to national prominence. Over 10 seasons at DePaul, Molinari helped recruit college and professional stars such as Mark Aguirre, Dallas Comegys, Tyrone Corbin, Terry Cummings and Rod Strickland -- players who led DePaul to nine NCAA Tournaments and a runner-up finish in the NIT.
  17. Check out his offers. That is a hell of a group to be on a limb with 15 schollies, which include Florida St., Clemson, Auburn, Arkansas, Louisville, Washington.
  18. Great pitching effort! Know we need to get the bats working.
  19. 2 complete games w/4 unearned runs & both games given to us due to errors & walks. Other than our pitching, the effort has been poor. You can not continue to get lucky. The coach has a right to be upset.
  20. Nice win, but still concerned about our ability to score runs. Miller needs to be the DH, the freshman are our best hitters.
