  1. Doesn't the Big10 renegotiate in 2024? I think this current contract was shorter than others. That would mean we leap frog back a year later.
  2. Seriously though, when do they re negotiate their media deal? That might allow them the leap frog the BIG10 unless the cable cutters have put a dent in those contracts.
  3. Northwestern? That list looks suspect other than the $EC teams, because the committee will not shy away from having two of them.
  4. Every report from spring camp says Harbaugh handed over the keys. No more committee play calling. That said, I don't believe the hype. The defense is replacing too many and takes a step back this year. No depth on the dline either. Offense will be better than last year. Top 15 team for sure. Top 10 maybe.
  5. KSU and OSU would never get in based on academics. OU might get a pass because of football tradition. KU is in the the AAU. They would be an easy take. ISU is also in the AAU, but agree they don't add much.
  6. This thread got boring. Someone needs to bring up Texas or Longhorns and liven it up a bit.
  7. I see what you are trying to do here, and I am not falling for it.
  8. The Big Ten will rule out schools that do not measure up academically. Keep in mind membership in the AAU was a requirement the last two times they expanded. There are exemptions however. ND being one of them. OU may be exempt given the football tradition. Otherwise KU, ISU, and Texas are the only Big 12 AAU members...I think. Missouri, Colorado and TAMU where members but are gone. No way TT, OSU or KSU make it. I think KU and OU would be good additions, but getting OU and TAMU would be fun to pull off and get a footprint in Texas.....without Texas. TAMU will not happen, but the slap in the face of Texas would be fun to watch.

    B1G in CWS Final

One game each. Winner take all tomorrow.
  11. Agreed. I was fine with it and was excited to see Nebraska play in the Big Ten. I looked at Nebraska as an upgrade to the conference. I also learned very quickly that Nebraska fans were classy. Not all fans are. Heck I go on Michigan boards as well, and think the fans on there can be pompous A-holes. Heaven forbid you post with a grammatical error. This board has been very respectful. I'm still a Michigan homer however.
  12. When Nebraska joined the Big 10, I felt like Nebraska fans thought they would roll over a weak conference. I don’t know if that was accurate, but that was my impression at the time. I think some Big Ten fans were quietly concerned that Nebraska would dominate and make the conference look bad. When that didn’t happen they copped the attitude you are referring too.
  13. Michigan just advanced to the CWS final routing Texas Tech 15-3 . The first Big Ten team to reach the CWS final since 1966 when OSU won it all. They will face Vandy or Louisville from the other side of the bracket. Michigan was unranked entering the CWS and knocked off #1 UCLA in the super regional. https://www.mlive.com/wolverines/2019/06/live-updates-of-michigan-vs-no-8-texas-tech-tech-in-the-college-world-series.html The Big Ten has only won 6 times in CWS history. Minnesota 3 championships Michigan 2 championships Ohio State 1 championship
  14. One reason I like the 4-team pods (and a 9 game schedule) is every team will get to play every other team every two years (home and home every 4). I hate not playing Nebraska for 5 years. I think Nebraska and Michigan could develop into a great rivalry due to the 97 Natinoal Championship split trophies and having Harbough and Frost as coaches, but not if they can't play the game. If we try and make the pods even strength, there will be too many protected games to schedule versus just rotating the pods. I would rather put rivals in the same pod as much as possible so they play every year without the protected games. Unfortunately I am not sure how to put all rivals (or teams with a history) in pods, but if NW and the Illini end up in different pods they can play a non-conference game every other year. I guess some fan bases may not like playing a non-conference Big Ten game versus getting to schedule a non-conference rival like Iowa/Iowa State or Purdue/ND. Games like Michigan/Minnesota would be every other year. The little Brown Jug story line is cool and I like the history of this game, but every other year is fine. I ran the Pod idea by a Purdue fan and put Indiana and Purdue in different Pods. When I mentioned they would keep the annual game alive with a non-conference game every other year he was fine with that idea. I would love to get a perspective from an NW fan about this Pod (NU,OU,KU, NW) and plyaing the Illini every other year in a non-confernce game.
  15. I like having Nebraska and Northwestern play ever year. The winner gets to claim the NU acronym until next season.
  16. I was thinking that Indiana is already in the East and Purdue would move to that division to make room in the West for KU and OU.
  17. Nope. Michigan then Nebraska. Pods are are meant to try and keep rivals playing every year and be geographically close. Indiana and Purdue always get screwed however. PSU didn’t get great rivals in that pod. Not sure who their Big Ten rival is after all these years.
  18. I think you mean Purdue slides East. I like Pods better. NU OU Kansas Iowa Wiscy Minn NW Illini MSU Mich OSU Purdue PSU Maryland Rutgers Indiana Indiana/Purdue play a Non conference game every other year to keep the rivalry.
  19. I am happy NU chose to join the Big Ten. Can’t believe it’s been this long.
  20. The NU fan base can handle drinking and still be respectful. They should ban it at Wiscy games.
