  1. Could you do a little convincing? I'll keep at it.I did my best to sell the nebraska brand to several Swedish teammates while I was there and I think we made a few fans. Its tough finding players who fit the nebraska mold and kevin has character to go with all his talent.
  2. He said he was impressed with the hail mary against NW. Kevin tore up his knee midway through his junior year after a rough start and I honestly think it will help nebraska's chances to land him by scaring away michigan. I watched Kevin dominate 17 year olds in Sweden when he was 13 and he may very well be the best player nebraska has a shot to land next year. I really hope we get him to visit and show him the down to earth atmosphere here because his dad asked if he could stay with my family and this guy would fit perfectly with what nebraska is all about.
  3. Vincent Valentine is our only guy on defense who plays to the whistle!
  4. Well with the family all together for the holiday including grandparents from nebraska who insist this is not a rivalry, we will cheer the scarlet and cream on no matter what bowl game is at stake. GBR!
  5. What is the difference between Iowans and nebraskans? Iowans have better neighbors.
  6. The future for Jason is up in the air but all likely outcome for the rest of the ankranauts.
  7. The topic may be a bit pre-mature sure and this might be a situation of counting your chickens before they hatch, but who do you see making an nfl roster either through the draft or via undrafted free agency from our group of seniors this year? I can easily see Stanley Jean-Baptist helping his stock enough with a great showing at the combine and through the individual testing/workouts/interviews to go in the 2nd and mayhap even into the 1st. Realistically speaking, who else stands a pretty good shot? Note: I'm leaving off juniors because i am under the assumption AA is staying for his senior campaign.
  8. Tommy has as many as taylor did when he was a freshman?
  9. In the 3rd quarter there were a few stalled drives which were head scratchers
  10. And how many of those has he lost and what affect did that have on the game? Well it nearly cost us the opener with the 4th quarter turnover No, our defense utterly collapsing and giving up 114 yards and two TDs in five total plays nearly cost us the home opener. And our offensive juggernaut having 3 and outs played no hand either
  11. And how are we this year? Martinez has played a little over two and a half games. TA has played a lot in three games and a decent amount in a fourth. Who has more? Your argument is lost on that basis. Tommy is a freshman, taylor has had the car keys for 4 years and has had his truckload share of turnovers during the span.

  13. http://dataomaha.com/documents/husker-turnovers-a-look-at-nebraskas-slippery-slope Turnovers exponentially hurt a team with as little margin for error as this day and age of football.
  14. No, he has regressed this year and you are watching another team if you think otherwise. Football is a game of what are you doing for me lately and not what have you done. His best asset was running, and if it's absent, the offense loses a huge dimension.
  15. 1. RG is a man-child who got Nebraska's first defensive safety this year. 2. Our offensive line seemed to fall apart once Spencer Long was out. 3. Something tells me the way our coaching staff teaches the players currently opposes the heirarchy of rules (SJB ejection). 4. Our front 7 is STILL a LONG way from being stout. It was purdue for crying out loud. 5. Bo has not changed facial expressions since his high school playing days.
  16. What was once considered a good hit is now an ejection. My grandad just pointed out how it isn't a game anymore since the rules now 100% cater to the offense.
  17. Jonathan Brown is putting on a linebacker clinic with 13 tackles.
  18. Someone trolled the wikipedia page for 'michigan stadium' and put a picture of an outhouse in place of the big house. Willing to bet it was an ohio state fan and I wish I had gotten a chance to screen shot before it was edited and fixed.
  19. I'm gonna try to give the huskers the benefit of the doubt with the bye week. Let's hope they put the time to good use...
  20. Defense- Simple bend but don't break 4-3 scheme. Average team speed on the perimeter with an interior line that occasionally was pushed around. Quincy and Ameer/Imani should break quite a few tackles with this team for how much they arm tackle and whiff. For a Miami offense predicated on the run, the pad level of the front seven was high enough for them to find some success converting first downs with qb draws and read option plays. D-line- plays aggressively enough to get caught on draws and screens whenever they guess the pass. They aren't nearly as conditioned as nebraskas o-line and should tire out by the 3rd quarter. Linebackers- rarely did they ever come up field and make a play in the backfield. Good, but not great agility which opens up a host of option and toss sweep opportunities for our rb's. Secondary- Miami isn't exactly an air assault squad, but on a few seperate plays, the left corner and strong safety bit on the run which left plenty of open space for play action passes. Offense- Their RT will lean forward slightly on running plays, LT will rock in his stance ever so slightly to get set up in pass protection. The whole o-line finished their blocks about 20% of the time excluding cut blocks. Wideouts aren't speedsters but can get open and block decently. Aaron Bailey is probably the biggest running threat, scheelhase is the better drop back passer at this point in time. They peppered in a lot of trick plays which if they continue the trend, our discipline on defense will either make us look really prepared and sharp, or really bad. Takeaway: We have to tackle in space and quickly disrupt the play to stop their trick plays in its tracks. Our offense should pound the rock and throw in supplement to a good ground game. I'll be looking for runs to our left and up the middle all day in what should be a back and forth offensive battle. Prediction: 49-28 nebraska Note: I only saw the first half since the second turned ugly in a hurry.
  21. Look. You have said your peace on this. You don't think he is a role model. Fine. He is an entertainer. And the coaches are not looking to take potential recruits to the concert for a motivational speech. They are taking them there to be entertained. End of story. I will leave it there then. At least two people understood why I was raising a fuss.
  22. "What because he wants to make money? How is it different than any corporate executive being greedy and wanting more in bonuses? I don't know many people who don't desire to have more money in life" Seems a little contradictory don't ya think?
