  1. For those of us old enough to remember, this is exactly right. For the younger posters, their history with Nebraska football dates back to the 90's.......and Osborne's legacy was cemented by his final 5 years as head coach. His first 20 years included the things you mention. And Osborne took over a program that had just come off back to back national titles. We were consistent winners between 1973 and 1993, as Pelini has been between 2008 and now. There are advantages to keeping a coach around for 25 years.......just like there are things to be learned from decisions made in 2003........oh, and Dirk's job is to write for a product that sells advertising space. Well stated. I, myself go back to the beginning of Devaney @ NU. Dennis Claridge, Frank Patrick, Tom Penney and Harry Wilson are a few names I grew up listening to on the radio on Saturday afternoons. The situation existing currently, to me, is no different than when TO took over. In fact, imho, TO stepped into a much more fluent situation as HC. All he had to do was exactly that, be the HC as everything else was already in place for him. I'm basically referring to a coaching staff that was completely in place with experience. Our younger posters cannot relate to the drastic change in the landscape of NCAAF even from the 90's until now. IMHO Bo deserves time but maybe not his staff.
  2. Old football adage: When you have 2 QBs, you have 0 QBs. Tell that to Devaney: Tagge/Bronson. Tell that to Osborne: Frazier/Berringer Berringer was a very good backup, but Frazier was clearly the #1 guy. Berringer did a great job of keeping the Huskers on track for the NC in 1994, but let's not act the offense just kept on humming after Frazier went down in '94. Go back and check some of the scores/stats of the games after Frazier went down. NU rode LP and the Blackshirts to Miami. Stats and scores are irrelevant. I want to see W vs L. Brook was successful in the only stat column that matters. Who cares if it was the LP and Blackshirts show. Berringer was a #1 QB, just not in our offensive style at that time. As a side note, Berringer would have been Highly drafted. Where was Tommie?
  3. Old football adage: When you have 2 QBs, you have 0 QBs. Tell that to Devaney: Tagge/Bronson. Tell that to Osborne: Frazier/Berringer
  4. I was sitting above the student section in the new club seating and believe me, THEY WERE NOT CROWDED CLOSER AND TIGHTER IN THE LOWER ROWS!!!!!!! PATHETIC SHOWING< NO EXCUSES!!!!!!!!
  5. Fire Harvey, TO can handle being Chancellor. Hell, if ya want to get right down to it, this is all Harvey's fault anyways!!!!!!! He's the person that hired Pederson leading us to this...............
  6. That's great! I can say also that while I was there, the people up there weren't sitting on their hands either like in some sections. They wanted to get loud and stood when it was called for!!! We will hopefully be able to tell more at the UCLA game like you said. Again, nice seats, great view and the amenities were solid as well. I'm in the new club seats right below this section. Totally friggin' awesome!!!!!!! I can notice a difference in crowd noise and I felt like I was setting in the band section. Talk about amenities, Holy cow, man , woman and child!!!!!
  7. 1994 NU vs WYO. Anybody remember? 14-0 Wyo at end of 1st quarter and 21-14 halftime. Final 42-32 NU. Peters, Wistrom, etc. Just sayin'.............
  8. ............and this is where my season seats will be!!!!!! HOT DAM!!!!! I would even say this is very close to/ if not my seats, OH YEA...
  9. Tickets in hand as of yesterday. New Club seats in East Stadium. C'mon gameday. Open house next Saturday to see my seats!!!!!!!!!!!
