  1. We would strap you to something but it would be a plank so we can water board you. Not just because you must be a terrorist but simply because you deserve to suffer. I wouldnt resist because I would deserve it.
  2. Its been a rough week, no doubt about it. But dont think we're ready to quit on you. This team got dealt a crappy hand and you still have a chance to raise the blinds and take the pot. Maybe its not the grand prize we all hoped for, but the time for dwelling on that is over. Dust yourselves off and lets get back to work. Happy Valley is worse than Ann Arbor. You think you arent playing for anything? Meet Penn State. These guys truly have nothing to lose. No Bowl game in their future and possibly a .500 finish. This makes them one of the most dangerous teams youll face. They will play without regard or concern. Their crowd will be wild. The weather will suck. But you will overcome it. They are beatable. Grind it out for all its worth . They want revenge for last years game in Lincoln and if you play half assed they will serve that revenge to their fans on a silver platter. Time to step up. No more fumbles, no more drops, no more picks, no more blown coverage. Its time to grow up. Its time to play big boy football. A team dangerous like this will try to intimidate you, growl snarl and spit right back at them and show you wont be pushed around. They think they have nothing to play for so they have nothing to lose. Its your job on Saturday to show them how much less they truly can have. Lets win this matchup for the third time. Lets inject some Red into their white out. And lets make sure they are thrilled they arent stuck playing us every year. We are Nebraska and we are gonna hand you your ass for four quarters! Go Big Red! The season isnt over!
  3. Over, he gets 3. O/U - fumbles by Penn State RBs: 2 Under , they commit one. O/U Nu rushes for 250
  4. 2010 had some real potential to be special but focus was something we lacked big time. Closing was an issue. And depth killed us down the line. Martinez getting banged up essentially put the potential to a screeching halt. 2011 was just rough and theres no way else to look at it. Tough schedule, new league, lots of talent lost, more injuries. We were lucky to win the 9 we did looking back at it now.
  5. I cant remember who suggested Saban but it went along with like paying him 10mil to come here. And Kiffin? He will be lucky to land a co-cordinator job at a MAC school. Actually let me go on record saying that if I ever suggest Lane Kiffin for ANY job in Lincoln, strap me in a straight jacket, slap me, and send me to rehab.
  6. For the record, the only name on that list I actuall would like here would be Peterson but hes a Boise guy. I really jope you dont think these were my uggestions, just names Ive seen others mention as replacements. Truthfully I ddont see anyone out there who would be head over heels to come here at the moment.
  7. I just don't want to see our "N" on a sweater-vest. I may cry
  8. Just to clarify...I've never thought we were about to turn the corner. When our defense was good in 2009 and 2010 we had an inept offense. When our offense was good shortly after that our defense sucked the big one. It wasn't until just this year that I've felt we were about to turn the corner. I predict big things for this team in the next 1-2 years. BUt in 2010 we had a QB rushing defense that was coming along and a young offense and ......oh god, I just had a case of deja vu
  9. I just don't want to see our "N" on a sweater-vest. I just cringed a little...
  10. Funny as that is I dont want that sanction magnet near us.
  11. Actually it kinda seems our strength and conditioning is lacking recently. Maybe thats just because the rest of the world caught up to us and Miami. Lets step it up.
  12. AND we dress Suh up like a freshmen and say his name is Nick Sumonakong! And we will reinvent the forward pass!
  13. That was a weird season-- it wasn't that the refs were against nebraska, it was more that they were not calling penalties on our opponents. I did an analysis (but it was easy to eyeball) that showed that every (I think) Big 12 team had their best game against us in terms of penalty yards by a LONG shot. Of course, it was difficult to show that Nebraska was getting extra penalties because they were high in every game. People argued back then that all of the calls against NU in that A&M game were legit, but the problem was that A&M had something like half their average number of penalties called on them. NotHing will ever excuse the roughing the passer call. If Kirk Herbstreit says its a bad call then come on.
  14. No doubt. But those of us who want to point out all the injuries Bo has had to deal with seem to conveniently forget all the teams we beat whose star QBs got injured in the process. And if the response is, as you say, it wouldn't have made a difference to Ohio State or Michigan, how can you definitively say, for example, that Martinez's injury made a difference to us? That's how a few of them like to do things around here. You made some points and added perspective. Nothing overly sensitive. Yet some like to pick out just one thing you mention for a counter argument. Or response. Maybe I only responded to that portion because I agreed with the rest. My bad Redux. I spoke too soon. I apologize. You make a good point though. Its funny, EZ E just started a great thread showing how true thoughts get lost in translation in regards to posts. Also most the time I want to post more but my phone clearly feels I spend too much time on here as it is.
  15. Bo has had luck in the comeback win department and a couple of opposing injuries. As far as his own personnel, no I feel that badluck outweighs the good. Burkhead and Taylors and Cricks Senior years shot. I dont think any good injury luck outweighs the bad. Hope my counter point was enough to clarify my stance though I do agree.

  17. No question Brxtons injury helped win us that game. Dennard? Eh, he wasnt really impressive that whole season. Northwestern on the other hand did better in 2011 with a backup in. Would we have won Minnysoda had TA played? Maybe.Would we have come back in T Magic fashion last week had Taylor been in? Perhaps. Would we have beaten UCLA if...............no, no outcome beats that squad Im afraid.
  18. It truly is exciting to think what this group will be capable of in the next couple years. It just seems like the corner is about to get turned. Yet weve felt that way before. Flip side not many coaches, first time or not, have had to deal witht hlthe challenges Bo has. And he has handled them well given his lack of experience in the role. Next season should be special, 12 wins should not be a pipe dream. We can certainly achieve that. The turnovers have to stop though. If we improve on that stat alone we have a legitimate team on our hands capable of making a splash nationally. Great post by the way EZ.
  19. Dennard wasnt doing much to us last year. He was finally driving when he got hurt but whos to say they score.
  20. It was a scenario I was responding to presented by NU_polo I believe, where we don't blow it in the 2010 CCG vs Oklahoma and then we win the ensuing Fiesta Bowl vs UConn rather than lose in a rematch with Washington. That's just it though. One of the biggest derps of Pelini's career was that was lost to Washington 19-7 in the 2010 bowl game after beating them earlier that season. That was unreal. That was the most embarassed Ive been even after weve succumbed to 4 blowouts in the big ten.
  21. Actually lets face it, had we won against Texas in 09 we wouldve played OSU in Fiesta Bowl, with Suh, we likely wouldve won. That puts us at 12-2 on the year with a Conf. Title and a BCS Bowl win. Bo wouldve gotten a mamoth rais. 2010 say we have the same season as what happened and we still bolt for the Big Ten. But if we would have beaten OU and trounced UConn in Fiesta we would have sat at 12-2 again. Another conf title and BCS Bowl win. Bo's record sits at 33-8 3 bowl wins 2 BCS appearances and 2 Big 12 Titles. Would we have left for the Big Ten? My money is on no. In all I think we would still be winning 12 games a year in the Big 12, because thats where Bo was successful defensively and he wouldve been landing some big time Texas recruits. Again, just my opinion.
  22. Is this to infer that Bo Pelini should be retained because Nebraska was good enough to run the table in 2010? Because the fact at they lost four games with a team that good gives evidence to the latter. The loss to Texas in 2010 wasawful. Had we hung on the year prior they may not have come in with the same mindset and we wouldnt have had the revenge factor. Against aTm........lord. who kows if the game wouldve been clean. Against OU we may have not let off the gas up 17-0 All tuis is moot really. Doesnt matter now. Just an opinio of what couldve been.
