  1. That would mean a ref would have to make a call in Nebraska's favor. Cold day in h3ll before that happens.
  2. Thompson should've stuck around, no way he wouldn't start at least 4 games if the QB is running this much.
  3. 1 play 15 commercials. 2 plays 20 commercials.
  4. Why does this look like the same Frost offense? Simms could be 3 AM and we wouldn't know the difference.
  5. Gotta shorten the game, how else will we have time for an extra 100 commercials per game?
  6. LoL I think we have been saying that for 10 years now.
  7. Wasn't our amazing freshman returner that won the Iowa game for us after AA?
  8. Yeah saw that. Apparently our jerseys can be pulled all over
  9. Man, it still hurts so bad knowing Pelini had a National Championship level defense and a National Champion level offense just two years apart. Crazy to think that in 2009 T. Mart was riding the pine as a redshirt. I have no doubt that had Pelini known how the year would play out they would have gotten his speed on the field somehow.
  10. Might be age talking here, but I feel like adverse weather during games happened way more 20 years ago than it does now.
  11. I am certain this has absolutely nothing to do with the incredible work of the Nebraska state legislature this year or the current political climate in this state. I won't go any further as this isn't the right forum, but you reap what you sow.
  12. Won't happen, but it would be really interesting if the remaining PAC schools got ahold of the current independents to form a new conference. This could be a decently strong core of teams: Stanford, Cal, Notre Dame, Army, Uconn, Oregon St., Washtington St. They could poach from the G5 schools to round out the group. Maybe some combination, East Carolina, FAU, Navy, SMU, Ohio, Boise St. Airforce, Colorado State, SDSU, could round it out.
  13. I think 24 teams is the ideal number for a super league. Creates two -12 team divisions, play everyone in your division for an 11 game regular season followed by a conference championship of the two best teams. Really it won't be any different than have multiple 12 team conferences but by bringing them under one umbrella you create a monopoly on the product that allows you to negotiate for more money.
  14. MY GOD! If there was ever a time to do one final Tunnel Walk of Shame, this would be it. It would be amazing.
  15. As all this is unfolding, it keep occurring to me how lucky Ferentz and Iowa's little "investigation" happened when the world was completely distracted by covid.
  16. Maybe going the Osborne route and make slow dbs into fast lbs.
  17. Sure... in the old times, I would certainly agree. However- when we were the 7th ranked paper tiger under Riley, it did a lot of good for our marketability. A lot is also said about Baylor's great season under Rhule and how they didn't really beat any quality opponents. Regardless, that season did a lot of good for Baylor's recruiting, marketability after the scandal, and Rhule's career. If Nebraska isn't in the shape to have an undefeated season against the BIG's best, a nice 11-2 season against the basement dwellers would do old NU a lot of good.
  18. Not complaining, just not surprised. Nebraska has had the short end of the scheduling stick ever since joining the BIG. Of course it never used to matter who we played. We had 7 guaranteed protected rivals annually. There wasn't space to finesse schedules for the best "tv matchups." That said to be the best you have to beat the best, but.... when you lose out on a month and a half of practice every year, it takes a toll on building for the future.
  19. This whole beer thing is so dumb. The major beer brands have been losing market share for decades, the proliferation of microbrews and introduction of beers flavored differently than urine began it. For a while, the corporations that owned the brands were able to offset that by buying up the microbrews and independent manufacturers. Leinenkugal bought by Miller in '88 was the start, it snowballed after and picked up pace. Major acquisitions you'd recognize are Goose Island in 2011, Boulevard in 2014, etc. Even though beer was primarily marketed to men, women often drank it too, as the alternative was zima, or bacardi raz, or ice, or some other nasty cheerleader beer that was only sold in 6 packs. The proliferation of seltzer waters, canned mixed drinks and the glamorization of wine have provided other options, particularly for women, who are increasingly carb averse. This is why so many marketing campaigns are aimed at women. Men are currently the customer in hand for the beer industry, what they are losing there are to other beers, which the corporate conglomerates already own. Men who prefer spirits like Bourbon are already lost to these companies and likely not coming back as major buyers. The ads are all about trying to capture parts of the market share that significant studies have likely shown are available. The backlash is dumb.
