  1. This is because a career in healthcare is no longer about care, it is about maximizing profit at all levels. This is why a for-profit healthcare system results in worse care, less preventative care, and higher prices for lower quality.
  2. .Kudos to you! You are among the minority in doing so.
  3. So, if any of that cost is passed on to your business, it means that you're company has move to a "self insured plan" to save costs on premiums, which is a whole 'nother can of worms. Smart if you have a healthy workforce because then you can bank any unused payouts for heavy use years. However, the additional cost to the business isn't really the business' money, its the money from the insurance pool that is created when you decide to move to self-insurance. Additionally, your business will also have co-insurance to protect from any catastrophic bills, protecting the business. - That said, ultimately if insurance payout costs continue to rise, your company will ultimately pass those costs on to the employees in the form of higher premiums. - So the patient does care. They just DONT HAVE AN OPTION. At the time of service. What's more when have you ever seen a menu at a healthcare provided that would allow the patient to "shop around" for the best price?
  4. Huh? Nearly all employer provided healthcare includes an employee cost share that also rises at the same time the cost to the employer does. I'm pretty darned sure that when my cola adjustment is completely wiped out by the increase in my portion of healthcare costs and then some, I care greatly. So does nearly every other employee in America.
  5. Ah, now we are conflating insurance providers with healthcare providers to confuse the question. - The conversation about cutting out the middleman is in regard to the insurance providers.
  6. Fixed it for you. PS. Nice Slippery Slope logical fallacy.
  7. So @Archy1221 to summarize your response, "Nothing I stated will change under a single payer system." Correct? So, worst case scenario, nothing changes, except that it will remove the lecherous middle man private insurance industry, that does nothing to add to my quality of care, but harvests trillions of dollars annually from the healthcare system. Seems like a great way to reduce costs and make healthcare more affordable to everyone. Why is this even remotely scary to anyone?
  8. HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA Personal Choice in America. What kind of ridiculous statement is that when it comes to healthcare. Unless you are independently wealthy there is no such thing as personal choice when it comes to healthcare in America. I get told by my employer who my insurance provider will be I get told by my employer what my premium will be I get told by my insurance provider which doctors they will *help* pay for (with my money) I get told by my insurance provider whether they will *help* pay for emergency services (with my money) I get told by my insurance provider whether they will *help* pay for preventative care (with my money) I get told by my insurance provider what necessary procedures they will *help* pay for (with my money) I get told by my insurance provider what medicines they will *help* pay for (with my money) My insurance provider has directly contradicted medical advice from my in-network doctors about whether procedures were necessary and refused to cover them Death panels exist they are called private insurance companies. The only personal choice is whether to go bankrupt or die. Every other decision is dictated. But please go on about personal choice in the American healthcare system.
  9. The problem is that the two party system, and especially our closed party primary systems exaggerate the voices of the extremes. This is why we need open, ranked choice primaries, and we need to somehow voice that primaries are just as important as the general to ensure that the "most passionate quarters" of the electorate do not drown out the the commonsense half.
  10. Urban said no to Texas. He ain't coming here, ever. Be more likely to get a Les Miles or Mack Brown, heck maybe could even get Bob Stoops or Mark Richt. - That said- Frost deserves to get one season that is normal, no cancelled games, and to see his first recruiting class to upper classman status.
  11. No one is going to be able to "bring us together," when half the populace gets their information from news sources that have gone to the supreme court to defend their right to lie to the public as "freedom of speech," we also won't have a world war to solidify the nation around a common cause.
  12. Why would you feel like that when "most Nebraska fans," clearly weren't satisfied with these???? Heck- Riley made two bowl games in 3 years and went 9-4 in year 2! 13. Two things, 1. The way the team celebrated and the moments we saw with Frost and players after the Purdue win wouldn't indicate to me that there is going to be a "mass exodus." 2. Martinez did however have that quote about his generation not liking being yelled at... So maybe he's like that dad who keeps face in public, but blows his top and tans your a** as soon as you get home. That said, the players sure do f. Up a lot for "being scared."
  14. Eh... I'm not saying you're wrong, but you referred to them as consistent winners. They're not. As much as it pains me to say, Iowa and Wisconsin would much more warrant that description. - Bo Pelini was a consistent winner.
  15. Northwestern, year in and out? Really? Don't get me wrong they've had some good seasons, but "consistent winners," they are not. Fitzy gets fired at Nebraska potentially in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, and certainly 2019. 2006 Pat Fitzgerald 4–8 2–6 T–8th 2007 Pat Fitzgerald 6–6 3–5 T–7th 2008 Pat Fitzgerald 9–4 5–3 T–4th L Alamo 2009 Pat Fitzgerald 8–5 5–3 T–4th L Outback 2010 Pat Fitzgerald 7–6 3–5 T–6th L TicketCity 2011 Pat Fitzgerald 6–7 3–5 5th (Legends) L Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas 2012 Pat Fitzgerald 10–3 5–3 3rd (Legends) W Gator 16 17 2013 Pat Fitzgerald 5–7 1–7 6th (Legends) 2014 Pat Fitzgerald 5–7 3–5 T–5th (West) 2015 Pat Fitzgerald 10–3 6–2 T–2nd (West) L Outback 22 23 2016 Pat Fitzgerald 7–6 5–4 T–4th (West) W Pinstripe 2017 Pat Fitzgerald 10–3 7–2 2nd (West) W Music City 17 17 2018 Pat Fitzgerald 9–5 8–1 1st (West) W Holiday 19 21 2019 Pat Fitzgerald 3–9 1–8 7th (West)
  16. Jesus, what do you want themto be, bawling their eyes out?? You couldn't see the pain on CTBs face when he got ejected? These guys go to the locker room collect themselves, regain their composure and then come out and give answers to nonsense questions. Part of me wishes they never had players speak post game. All it does is give people something to bi#$h about.
  17. And I'll put this out there too. We are not a great team that has been screwed out of wins by the refs. We are an average team at best. But average teams cannot overcome shotty reffing. You know what else turns close wins into close losses, well timed holding calls or no calls. We may very well be on the verge of turning a corner. Anyone watching cannot say there is much difference in level of play between Neb, NW, Minny, or Iowa. And the scores bare that out. In games between evenly matched average teams one sidded officiating can most certainly be the difference between a win and a loss. If we were the great team that I wish Nebraska was, should we be able to overcome one sidded officiating? Yes. But when you are an average team trying your darnest to just not beat yourselves, having to beat the refs too can screw with your mind and fortitude. How many times do you push for extra yards in a scrap risking injury when you know there is a 75% chance there is going to be a flag thrown on the play?
  18. I also fully believe that should minny have needed a flag to extend a drive to win they would have gotten it.
  19. You somehow believe a flag wouldn't be thrown had we managed to score another td? I'm certain it would have.
  20. IMO. They are getting exactly what they paid for. There is too much of this game in and game out for it not to be intentional.
  21. That never held our defenders all game... right....How many times were our recievers held and no call.
  22. So let's see how many points the refs scored for minny. Targeting call +4. Holding call +4. Missed calls against minny not withstanding refs responsible for an 8 point swing minimum in this game.
  23. Guess we'll wait 20 some more games for an opponent to be called for holding again
