  1. We want UT to be at their best for us next week.
  2. ESPN has Mizzou #13 in their Power 16 rankings. NU was 19 in the others receiving votes. Until we beat somebody, then rankings won't change.
  3. The problem with the DBs after Bowman goes down is two-fold. 1. Bowman is not guarding their best receiver. 2. Grixby is then guarding their best receiver, or Jones, and neither of them is even close to the same level as Bowman. It is just a vicious cycle. Their number 2 receiver is guarded by our number 3 DB, so on and so on.
  4. I still haven't heard too much about the herendous call at the end of the first half. McKeon picked up that lateral and was going to take it 90 yards for the TD, but it got called an incomplete pass. That was an absolute horrible call. The halftime score would have been 31-7 instead of 24-10. That call was a 10 point swing.
  5. That means that in AZ I will see Oregon v Cal. CRAP!
  6. Is there a coverage map somewhere?
  7. Isn't there some sort of a playoff this year. I live in Phoenix and they keep on talking about a National Championship game at the new cards stadium. It's not the Fiesta Bowl. Is there a 1 v 4 bowl game and a 2 v 3, then a winner of those two game? not sure.
  8. Look at the bottom of the Huskerboard opening page. It's there. You can't miss it.
  9. I'll bet BC and company have the score of last year's game on the brand new big screen for all the Huskers to see this week. He should also put the words "Restore the Order" on it. Didn't he do that last year with the TT score? Anyway, I'm up for a little Jayhawk roast on Sat. Keep the pressure on their offense and put tons of points up. GBR!!
  10. Funny how the announcers in the USC/Arizona game were saying that Arizona didn't try to run the ball enough and that they would never be able to pass well if they couldn't establish the run against USC.
  11. I still don't believe what he said was that bad. It was taken in a running of the mouth way by all the media. Ask any football player if they're going to win or lose and they will tell you they'll win. It pissed me off how the announcers said he guaranteed a win. He never guaranteed anything. He just said "when we win." I like that attitude among our players.
  12. With Troy running a spread with 4 and 5 wideouts, will Thenarse and Young get a lot of PT this weekend. Obviously Jones and Grix will be starting, but those two are listed as the #2's at the corners. Will they play a lot, or will Brothers play? If they do, I hope they do well and gain some confidence.
  13. I also think another problem was that on a few of the first down plays we would gain 4-6 yards. If it's 2 and 5, what do you do? Personally I run to gain a few more yards and then have a 3rd and short. If you pass on 2 and 5, and it falls incomplete, then you have a 3rd and 5 and that is not what we wanted. Also, it doesn't matter how good the game plan is when you don't execute and when they completely outman us.
  14. I just don't understand the thought that BC was playing not to lose too bad. That is crap. Anybody who has a competetive bone in their bodies never plays or coaches that way. If you are a D-1 coach or a D-1 player, you didn't get there by not being competetive. All of our coaches and players were disappointed with the loss. I can guarantee you that nobody went into that game just trying to keep it close. Every coach and player was expecting/wanting to win that game. Nobody could ever convince me that the team or coaches didn't believe they could win and so they played to keep it close.
  15. Can anybody imagine what the score would have been had Solich been around longer and only his recruits were playing.
  16. I saw one pass thrown his way on Sat. It seemed like he ran a bad route. It was on a 3rd and 6 or something in the third quarter. The pass was really short and skipped to him. It seemed like he ran the route too deep and Taylor threw it where he wanted it. It could be ZT's fault, but I find that hard to believe the way he has been so accurate this season.
  17. I never really realized how young NU is. If you look back at that depth chart, ZT, Austin and Herian are the only seniors on the O and the front four on the D are the only seniors. There are also adequate backups to that front four that are young. WOW. This looks good for the next few years to come. Exciting!
  18. I don't even read the posts.
  19. To the person who said we have been weak there for a while. Maybe you remember Fabian Washington or the Bullocks brothers. We have had some in the recent past. Their good draft positions should help recruiting, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Hopefully future recruits will see the need sign with NU.
  20. I also heard a local Phoenix sports radio guy this morning who said Nebraska gave USC a lot to handle and that the Huskers played well against a great USC team. He also said Callahan has done a good job and that the Huskers are a lot better now than the last two years. People outside the NU circle seem to think that the game went well and we shouldn't have expected much better.
  21. By "most players" you mean La Tech and Nicholls St. NOT USC caliber players. Did you hear the comment that Carroll said about recruiting out of state. He said he only recruits out of state players if they are definite first round draft picks. Must be nice.
  22. Callahan did what he thought was best for NU to win. That is why he is coach and we are on the sideline or in our recliners. If NU would have executed his game plan, we win 17-14 or lose 17-21.
  23. Sorry, I was disagreeing with noenwolf.
