  1. The funny thing about all this is that Republicans were warned, by Lindsay Graham himself, how this would all end, as you previously posted. Anybody who cared to look could see that his Presidency would end in disgrace, in front of a landscaping service and a sex shop, and that the fallout would be toxicity that griped the entire party. Republicans knew this, they warned voters, then they decided to latch on - because otherwise you lose your political career like Liz Cheney - and now they have to pretend that this was a hit job. I do not feel sorry for Republicans for bringing this on themselves. They hitched their wagon to an individual with the intelligence of a 7th grader who's spent his entire life looking out for only himself. Republicans are getting what they deserve.
  2. Our boi Dark Brandon got on that a few months ago. https://www.npr.org/2022/03/08/1085315491/congress-passes-bill-to-shore-up-the-postal-service-without-cutting-back-on-deli
  3. The answer to these questions makes Conservatives uncomfortable, and therefore they must rationalize their support of Cheeto Man by rejecting this reality. A Trump appointed, registered Republican, federalist society member going after the most obvious criminal who makes no attempts to hide his crimes shatters their worldview. It MUST be the left who forced this Trump appointed, career Republican, federalist society member into doing this. It HAS to be true that this is a politically motivated hit job from said Trump appointed, career Republican, federalist society member who's working with the far Left-autocratic Democrats. Because if that's not true, it means I support and voted for a career criminal. It means I've been grifted for years. It means that the election wasn't stolen, and that my political preferences might actually be dangerous. That cannot be true, or else I might have to vote differently or come to uncomfortable realizations about the political party I've constructed my identity around, which is simply unfathomable.
  4. Yeah, turns out that kneecapping a federal agency for decades so rich people can cheat their taxes takes a lot of manpower to get on their feet. In truth, the number of agents will be far less than that. They need to modernize equipment, they're mandated to provide a direct tax filing, they need analysts to keep up with every changing tax codes, etc.
  5. Yes, the left. The party that tried to undermine democracy by telling the Georgia Secretary of State to find votes to help their candidate. They notoriously tried to stop the electoral college count on January 6th and have been on a noble crusade of finding illegitimate votes all across the country. At a certain point, it's hard to take you guys seriously. That point was somewhere back in the 1970s, but you guys are straight out of an SNL skit at this point. It's simultaneously hilarious and sad.
  6. Let Florida and other red states form their own country, the Trumps' can lead them for life. We can use those 87k IRS agents to recoup all the tax revenue we've subsidized red states with for the last few decades.
  7. You voted for this, twice, despite being told how terrible of a choice it was both times. You wanted this, don't act surprised now.
  8. The GOP loves this guy. Their hatred of America, servicemen, or American values knows no bounds.
  9. Republican voters get what they deserve. If they want to be voluntarily grifted - while those liberals on their high horses yell into the void that is a bad idea - let them.
  10. The amendment - *gasp* - needed 60 votes to pass, as many as a stand alone bill needs. The proposed stand alone bill was identical to what was included in the IRA. Republicans didn't vote for it because they didn't want Democrats to add another win in the bill.
  11. This is what the the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs thinks of Trump. I want to add, for my America-hating Trump voters, that this is not a surprise. It was obvious to anybody back in 2015 that Trump was this way. You didn't exactly need to be a member of Mensa to see it.
  12. Viktor Orban can simply sleep in the Koch Industries supplied villa and give a speech at whichever city hosting needs a nice racist inspired, white-Nationalist "go gettem" speech. Koch Industries can afford to keep him on retainer after all those tax cuts the GOP has provided them over the last few decades.
  13. This doesn't include tremendous support of Ukraine or the foreign policy of revealing the Russian invasion of Ukraine late last year. I get that Biden can be frustrating to voters. He isn't perfect. But contrast his accomplishments with Trump's "American carnage" and the complete joke the GOP has twisted itself into. Comparing the two Presidents is such a colossal insult to Biden that we shouldn't elevate Trump by mentioning them in the same sentence.
  14. It's almost like they're trying to push absurdity to the limit. It's like they're curious how far they can go and still have conservatives vote for them. I don't think they've come close to the bottom of the barrel, but their descend in their quest to find it sure is funny.
  15. I, for one, have missed the alternate reality Archy constructs for himself, in order to justify his voting behavior and to make sense of the world around him.
  16. They killed the next leader of Al Qaeda and they've also nominated a record number of judges to courts.
  17. Don't forget the opposition party is having an identity crisis consisting of "is Democracy good?" or "should we undermine the constitution to remain in power perpetually?" and if white nationalist talking points should be a feature of their political platform or if it should remain just underneath the surface like it has been for decades. COVID, climate change, and inflation are not the only threats America is facing. The Republican Party has emerged as the most serious threat to the country, and I do not mean that hyperbolicly. Accomplishing all this while half the country are brainwashed feral MAGA-heads is no small feat.
  18. Sort of. It's a difficult balancing act. The recovery after 2008 took around 5.5 years to recover all the lost jobs from that recession, this recovery was over twice as fast. So, yes, the jobs report showing mostly recovered jobs, it's still a victory to do it this quickly. There are valid concerns that inflation is entrenched - it seems likely that inflation will fall to 4% or so late next year, but it will likely stay elevated above 3.5% for awhile... like the rest of the decade. However, this is a worldwide problem. Not sure Biden or any President can do much about it. Also, technically the unemployment rate is 3.46%, a record low. The official print is rounded up. It has never been easier to find a job in this country. Now, unfortunately our Republican friends are going to be transfixed by the poetic words of Viktor Orban to notice.
  19. Republicans are caught in a political blender, with no policy other than "vote for the opposite of Democrats, cut taxes for the wealthy, and institute Christian Nationalism". It is truly mind boggling how anybody can vote for clowns like Rand Paul, Hawley, Cruz and others. They exemplify everything wrong with American politics.
  20. I don't want to get my hopes up, but Dobbs' is probably having a much larger effect than any Political Scientist could've imagined. Frankly, the trigger laws from states are so insane that voters in Kansas of all places are saying enough is enough. I guess forcing a raped 10 year old to have a kid isn't a great political move. Or Doctors waiting until a mother is near death so doctors are aren't charged with homicide... These laws are so messed up that the writers of them need to be put in prison for causing suffering, and I genuinely mean that. It's disgusting.
  21. If there's one place I don't care if they spend $100 trillion-bajallion dollars on its military Veterans exposed to *checks notes* burn pits in times of war that those same Republicans sent them to.
  22. Oh yes. It has been widely known in political and military circles that sheer Machismo is the determining factor in victory. As exemplified by Vladimir Putin's glorious conquest in Ukraine, their swift victory was due in no small part to his extreme masculinity.
  23. Our biggest failure is treating Republicans like an equal viable alternative in our political discourse. In reality, they should get no airtime, no newspaper space, or any mention whatsoever in our discourse. They deserve the same treatment as my local chapter of the Flat Earth Society.
  24. It's possible the political environment has changed that much. But Ohio is politically to the Right of the tipping point House seat, and to the right of Senate seats in: Iowa (although Ohio and Iowa are very close), Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, and New Hampshire. If Tim Ryan is correct and they're down 1% or even ahead, Democrats are not only winning the House but expanding their majority, as well as controlling 53-54 Senate seats. That's simply not going to happen.
  25. Honestly this is the perfect microcosm to illustrate the Republican Party. Complain about things that don't exist in reality, then when faced with consequences cry for Democrats to clean up your mess.
