When I found out we got both Newby and Taylor I was very excited to see this tandem wreck defensive lines. It is sad to see that neither has turned out to be the elite running backs we thought they could become. Still holding out hope that Newby can turn a corner and come out strong, but we shall see. Either way we need him or one of the other backs to be serviceable enough to open up our passing attack.

Gotta say that the defense kept us in the game yesterday and has greatly improved over the last few games so we may be ok there. Having a quarterback who makes better choices would have kept us competative in that game. Defense does need some work for sure, but having that game changing quarterback is crucial.

He played against a lot of stiff competition but he was always able to get really decent penetration.

Although we look bad this year I don't beleive firing Riley is a good decision.

To play this way against a 1-6 Purdue team is really bad. Even if we win this game it still looks bad on us for allowing this to happen in the first place.
