  1. Check out the interview too if you've got about fifteen minutes. I'll try. I like Vrzal because he's a GI boy.
  2. We've had a bit of discussion about effort (or lack thereof) and Benning's comments here -> http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/77112-benning-is-all-about-the-effort/
  3. Laughable that you don't think Pelini is fostered a negative attitude to the team. "Us against the world" "F*** the fans. F*** all of them. They can kiss my a** when I leave" "The AD is a c***" I've read you musings on another site (that you've been chased off of), so just for the record so all of huskerboard knows your M.O., can you tell us why you think that Bo shouldn't have been fired?
  4. I've seen this idea brought up a couple different places. Can someone tell my why Trev Alberts would be qualified to be an AD at Nebraska? And "he played at Nebraska" doesn't count.
  5. Sounds like Jones is out. So we're rolling with Davie, Kalu, and Mosely this week.
  6. Didn't he miss the first game or 2 as well? I'll be surprised if he sees the field (or suits up) again this year.
  7. Absolutely! The staff if totally dropping the ball by not punishing the guys who are slacking. They can slack and then be right out there the next week starting again.
  8. Figured that would be the response. He has said watch the last drive and it will be obvious. If I had the ability/time/know how, I would love to rewatch the last drive and make gifs to illustrate. Maybe someone here can? FYI, you can rematch most (if not all) games via Watch ESPN online if you have a subscriber log-in through your TV provider. It was lots of little things that added up killing us. Malik dogged it on one early run play. The safeties, despite knowing NW was probably just trying to run clock, played soft up high and didn't fly down to help in the run game. The biggest one was a simple swing pass to Jackson in the flat. Whoever had coverage whiffed, JJ started up the sideline, and our backside defense was jogging after him. I guess they assumed the first guy would make the play. He ended up making a few more guys miss downfield and the play went for 28. That's just straight up lack of hustle. No way around it. Not playing through the whistle. I always forget about the WatchESPN thing. I'll try to look at it tonight. But it would be great is someone more technologically inclined than me could gif some of the plays (cough, True, cough). Thanks for your thoughts on the last drive.
  9. Are we playing faster because we're always chasing the other team's players down the field? I don't think anyone was fast chasing the NW QB down the sidelines... (Also, Bando has to still be hurt, right? I mean...)

  11. I was waiting for the "Benning is throwing the players under the bus" comment. If he really wanted to, he said he could give names and plays where guys aren't giving it there all. But he said that he doesn't want to do that because it would serve no good purpose to call out the guys by name. He has also said that the coaches need to get better. He said that there needs to be changes on the defensive side, either coaches or scheme or both. He has said that special teams are bad and we should be much better with a dedicated ST coach.
  12. Personally, its a problem of both coaches and players. Coaches can only help so much, but at some point a player has to put on his big boy pants. Also, not sure we can compare yet since the vast majority of the guys on the field are Bo's players and have a history of laying eggs. If Riley is still having this problem when he is 3 or 4 years into his tenure (if he makes it that long), then we can draw more conclusions.
  13. Segment 3 Benning: Watch the last NW drive. You can see who sticks out like a sore thumb with a lack of effort Sharp: And they will be right back out there starting next week Benning: That's a problem. The coaches need to hold the players accountable or this will continue
  14. Sometimes I feel that us fans care more about the team and wins/losses than the players do.
  15. Listening the Sharp & Benning on podcast this morning. Only through Segment 2, but Benning is calling out the effort of this team. He doesn't absolve the coaches, but says the players need to "buy in" and "care" and that seems to be his #1 problem. He talked about TA and his (bad) decision making, but he said he would take 105 Tommy Armstrongs on this team because Tommy gives it his all and cares.
  16. Good article that touches on the myriad of problems Nebraska has this year - offense, defense, special teams, disciple, physicality, conditioning, and the one playmaker to change the game. The below sums it up well. Overall, we are performing at about the same as the past 4 years. But we are losing instead of winning. And as for inheriting Pelini's problems, I like the last paragraph:
  17. Our coverage teams had been pretty good IMO until this week. And JS as a kick returner... ugh.
  18. Not meant to be a mockery of him just pointing out the atrocious throwing form on this play. Not picking on him personally just criticizing something that can be fixed. If TM can make drastic improvement from Sophomore-Junior year in footwork why can't TA? His feet got tangled with the OL on that play. That's why he is falling as he throws.
  19. Thanks for all the work in putting these together True. IMO, and its been said before in this thread, but it is was coaching AND player failure yesterday on all 3 sides of the ball.
