  1. Sounds like Stoltenburg is sticking at DT. Hughes thinks he can add ~30lbs more with ease.
  2. Wasn't there a guy who made a blog to post some of big red board's dumbest sh#t?
  3. Wasn't there a rumor floating around that he missed the Iowa and/or the USC game due to weed?
  4. What's new? Haven't the players been "signing in" to lifts for several years? Don't get me wrong, it is very cool and cutting edge to closely follow gains and progression. Is there something new about what the staff is doing with the numbers? Just curious... A lot of the players had others sign them in and then would skip the lifting session. A majority of the time, Dobson had his assistants running the sessions and he would be doing something else. I have been told that Philipp is very hands on during the sessions and is there all the time. Making the player accountable for each other when it comes to training time. Really? The players were cheating on lifting? And Bo/Dobson or assistants didn't know this was happening? WTF? Lack of accountability in a Pelini ran program!?!? Impossible! Point the thumb, not the finger...
  5. Not until you figure in how many top 25 teams the other coaches faced, W-L records of teams faced, and offensive rankings of teams faced. Comparing the last three times Osborne faced Kansas against the last three times Pelini faced Wisconsin isn't exactly a level playing field now, is it? That being said, Bo's defense couldn't seem to contain a power running game or a roll out quarterback. Best defensive genius Nebraska has had so far is Mike Riley. His Nebraska teams have never given up a single yard, a single point, or allowed a single pass completion. (See how that works if we don't put things into context?) Dirk compared Bo to Cosgrove when each played top 25 offenses. Pelini played 10 top-25 offenses since joining the B1G 2011-14. His defensive averages? 37.3 points, 508.1 yards. FYI - this does NOT include the 2012 Wisconsin Massacre with 70 points and 640 yards allowed. It does include an Aaron Murray-less Georgia in the 2013 Gator Bowl (19 points/416 yards) and a 1st time taking the field Gus Malzahn led Arkansas St (6 points/286 yards). Cosgrove played 13 top-25 offenses between 2004-07. His defensive averages? 38.7 points, 484 yards.
  6. Can we put the "Bo is a defensive genius" to bed please?
  7. Is Ron Stoops the black sheep of the Stoops family? Has he not heard how to live off Bob's name like Mike and Mark?
  8. From Sam this morning: A lot more on the WRs/downfield passing and some division W/L stats in the story.
  9. Call plays that work!!!1111!!!11!!!!!
  10. Do we know if he can be a lead blocker? Just b/c he's big doesn't mean he can be a good blocker.
  11. I don't think that we will learn anything this spring as far as playing time or playing order. And I don't know if we will truly know the pecking order until the conference games start this fall.
  12. Mike needs to call up Tom and get him and Gisele on campus for some twitter photos.
  13. Another from Dirk's "Riley Week". http://www.omaha.com/huskers/tom-brady-will-always-be-the-big-one-who-got/article_264e276b-b84f-5b38-bcbb-e77f60f40fb4.html
  14. Bo mismanaged every LB by hiring Ross Els as their coach.
  15. Just finished the Sunday article. Great read. Hope to tackle today's article on the Oregon monster later.
  16. Sipple is outspoken? He was Bo's lapdog.
  17. I put this in the Spring Practice thread, but may as well put it here too: Both Stoltenberg and Newell were practicing at DT as of the last practice. They were are DE all fall as far as I know.
  18. He will be a first rounder next draft That's a bold statement. I'm not knocking Collins. He was good for a sophomore. IIRC, he was 2nd team all B1G. But to be a 1st round pick he is going to have to take a really big step this year. 1st team all B1G, getting defensive B1G POY votes, being 1st/2nd team AA. Can he do all of that? Hopefully. I just don't think its time yet to act like he is the 2nd coming of Suh.
  19. And I think that we need to pump the breaks a bit on the Collin's hype. Was he good last year? Yes. But he is going to have to take a BIG step forward this year to consider leaving early for the league.
  20. Stoltenburg begins the spring at DT. Very surprising to me knowing the severe lack of depth at DE. I wonder if he bulked up too much last year? Also, Newell has moved inside to DT for the spring, but I think he was expected to be inside at the time of his recruitment.
  21. I guess they see NU offer and think "what the hell? lets toss out an offer on the 1% chance he would pick us" Kind of like us offering 5 star kids from Georgia, Louisiana, and Alabama If we offer after they already have the hometown team offer, then yes, it is basically the same.
  22. Is it bad when a lineman benches as much as your safety? Or is it a "long arms" excuse for Cotton?
  23. That's my thinking. Can someone point me to where the coaches said otherwise? I missed that. It was mentioned in the past week. I'm guessing I saw it on twitter from some writer. Here is the only link that I could find that mentions it. http://www.cornnation.com/2015/3/4/8131381/nebraska-football-2015-spring-preview-linebackers
