I agree that HuskerMax isn't the greatest board for a number of reasons. Navigating isn't a problem. I like 24/7 a lot. The crew over there welcome newbies and the navigation is pretty good. I'm still trying to see if I am accepted by you guys or not. LOL

Elaborate please as to why you feel Jamrog had to go. I would like to know why Jamrog had to go as well. Me too. Is it for sure Jamrog was fired too? I didn't read that anywhere. Thanks for the update. My head must be in the sand. LOL

Likely nothing the first couple of times it happens. If after 7 years it becomes a pattern, then I'm guessing we go find a new coach. What do you think? After year two, the seat gets hot. Really, really hot. assuming i read that correctly, at least you're of the belief that we'll be making the CCG the first 2 years. you're starting to come around to this hire...even you can't be negative 100% of the time without a positive slip-up every now and then. What I'm saying is in the next 2 years anything less than 11 wins per year, a B1G championship, and a spot in the playoffs should call for a coaching, AD, and chancellor change. First of all I doubt/but would hope that your 11 wins per year and a BIG 10 championship would be great but doubtful MR's first two years/never know. But, with all the politics, I definitely do not see MR, SE, & HP with walking papers. That would be a miracle! I am not saying I want MR gone but with your scenario that would blow my mind.

I think this is the vast majority of Husker fans. I'm not seeing a huge divide anymore. I'm seeing people underwhelmed by the Riley hire, but mostly people are waiting to see what we actually have in this guy before making their decision. I'm with you on this one. We have to wait and see. Riley may not have been first choice but likeable guy and willing to support him. Can't change the hire. Si we'll wait and see what happens in the spring. We cannot win by the run only. We have to have a quarterback that can pass well and with consistency. Hopefully TO will accept advice and training from his coaches. I've heard he has quite the attitude. (speculation of course). I agree with many on the board that TO will have to earn the position as QB. Like someone else said they show off for the coaches and do not show up for the games (this year especially). I hope Riley mixes it up but leans towards a passing QB that can run too. We haven't had that for I don't know how long????? People can talk in circles but IMHO I believe our QB has to be a strong, fast, quick-thinking guy that can run and through the ball accurately. Just my two cents. As far as Coach Riley, lets give him a chance to prove himself. I'm just saying....

In line with Riley's staff, do you think he will keep Ron Brown. I think he is an integral part of the faith/motivation like the glue that holds the team together? I know I am partial to RB. What are any of your thoughts?

DING DING DING...we have a winner. There are folks so anti-Bo that when a potentially s****y hire is staring them in the face, they choose not to see it. I was willing to give the Riley hire a chance, provided the right coordinators and staff showed up under him--again, our AD said money wasn't a concern. But when Riley is bringing his defensive buddies from OSU with him...the same ones that choked against Eastern Washington, NOT Wisky, and the same ones the OSU fans wanted run out on a rail for incompetence...it's becoming clear this is quickly becoming a s****y hire and the mistake to end all mistakes with this progam. So what do people choose to see when 70-31 & 59-24 is staring them in the face? Part of the process? Stay the course? There are a lot more examples of poor play in meaningful games if needed. Give us a break and allow us to be excited and hopeful with Riley & whatever staff he puts together. We are looking forward to a new season. We are done with the past. Y'all fans that criticize this idea is something Bo would be proud of. And J Mitchell too. Couldn't have said it any better! Well put.

Well, although we've cut ties with the guy, he did bring this program some good things, and kept us from plummeting into the depths. He has my gratitude for that, and he is always welcome back as a former coach for a visit, imo. Whether he'll act on that is a different question. But, I don't hate the man. He's very rough around the edges, but, he's an intense dude. Honestly, I greatly identified with Pelini through these past 7 years. I'm normally friendly or reserved, but, competition gets me riled up, and I say things sometimes I didn't mean to say. So, I sympathized with Bo. I understood where he was coming from. I agree. Plus fort Collins is a great little city. I think that Bo and his family would love it there. I didn't like Bo being a hothead but liked him for his determination. He did love his team. I think of him as a person and a dad and a husband and wouldn't hesitate to welcome him back for a visit. But, with that said, he has his millions and he publicly said "fire me." I know he said that in anger. I agree he had his rough edges and a lot of other issues but deep deep down had a good side to him. I wish him and his family the best in life to come.

Great question. I have the feeling though they said MR would be silent and let BC do the coaching I bet MR will be on the sidelines and even now preparing the guys for the bowl. I cannot see this guy not having his hands involved in play calling especially with Beck and his horrific calls he makes. I'll be shocked if MR is silent.

It's sad that the team has to play under Barney Cotton. I think he is about as bright as a broken light bulb. I hope he doesn't have Coach Riley fooled. It would be a tragedy to keep BC on board. Does anyone else agree? Can you imagine what the team is going through now? They might as well coach themselves. This will make for an interesting bowl game.

Hi new to this board. I like what I read and some I disagree with but that's the fun in the boards! Everything written about Riley and his hires can all be criticized but at the end of the day it is what it is. I hope Coach Brown still has a job. Coach Riley was hired without a doubt not for his record but for an array of things; a strong moral character that is approachable, open, kind, seasoned coach, and has the mentality to win the big ones. He was on the cusp of winning big games in a small school with minimal resources. I don't even use that as an excuse and neither does he. At this point, everything is pure speculation. Time will tell. Get the coaches and the team on the field and get going and it will all play out. We have to give Riley time and a chance to rebuild a program and that doesn't happen overnight.
