  1. I am going to respectfully disagree here. Why? You realize among active quarterbacks his senior season he had the 3rd best career passer rating behind Sam Bradford and Tim Tebow? Better passer rating, better completion percentage, more yardage, better runner. Not saying that's proof of anything but I don't know how you take one over the other. Zac Taylor has a much higher football IQ and made the correct play more often than Ganz. Joe would force a lot of passes and threw a ton of picks, many of which were under zero pressure. Zac had a much worse supporting cast, and honestly probably won us 4-5 games a season just on his ability to stand in the pocket and deliver the ball for first downs knowing he was going to get creamed. I liked Joe Ganz. I am also going to get murdered for this, but he is probably the most overrated QB in Nebraska Football history. IMHO He just did not give a wow factor.
  2. Many here wanted McElwain so I'd say he was higher on our collective list. Sark was a bigger name available. Pretty sure most here would have preferred Narduzzi so yes to him. Frost definitely but SE wasn't interested. We should have at least checked with Patterson. So hiring CSU's coach or MSU's DC would have been a wow because they were mentioned on HB? Did Sark ever win more than 8 games at UW? But some of us are wrong for feeling apathetic about the newly frocked HC who's best is 10 wins and a victory in the Sun Bowl??? This is going to be a very fun and interesting off-season!
  3. It's not that we had a chance, many wanted the new HC hiring to be a "WOW", not a "meh"... This. A hire that had people talking about the bold move or move towards getting NU back. Not a quick check of Wikipedia, not hearing how nice he is etc.... When Callahan was hired, I was livid, because I knew, after seeing what he'd done to my Raiders, he'd hurt the program. Bo was hired, almost everyone was excited because he'd been here before, and he wasn't Clownahan. Now they hire Riley, who most of us, when he was hired almost immediately said, "who?"... This almost seems like a hire that was based on the fact that they didn't know who else they could get, so they got Riley. And if this guy falls flat on his ass, which I hope he doesn't, everyone can say "at least he was nicer than Bo"... That's what I wonder. How did Reilly even get on the radar. Was it another, sh!t, we fired a guy and my short list all said no? I think he was on the short list. A coach also has to fit the programs image. After the Bo vs the world mentality you would have to get a coach to fix that mindset and I think Riley is that man.
  4. Its pretty cool to see a quarterback to take control of the game like that.
  5. I agree Chub is a beast and he was pretty fast also.
  6. I think he has a bright future at WR. He will be fun to watch over the next couple of years.
  7. Something Brady Hoke could not do that well
  8. Looking at some good consistency over his first couple of years would be great thing to look at and establishing an identity. I think the team has been all over the place in my opinion.
  9. He's thrilled that lincoln has an Amigos? Amigos makes no one happy. Agree probably the worst place a person can go to get terrible food.
  10. I agree after his second year at Michigan his name will be on the list of any NFL jobs.
  11. I agree about player development and how it's always been important part of Nebraska's success. That is what I'm most excited about Riley is the great player development he brings to the table.
  12. It will be interesting to see how fast Jim can turn around a struggling Michigan program. Also curious to see if he has the heart to do it. It kind of seems that he only took the Michigan job because there was no other offers from the NFL.
  13. We have the best weather for football. Not to hot or not to cold. Just right
